QUICKLY smash my head with this brick
He can’t help it if he’s a little unsteady on his feet like this, a cold sweat running down his forehead as his body responds to the injuries he has as well as the way he continues to try and exert himself with actions as simple as walking, the pain making it even worse. Even if he sways however, he doesn’t think that he would do so enough to cause further concern to come to the one across from him, capable of looking past his spotty vision brought about by the pain of having salt water pushed into his wounds. Something that can’t be avoided, and he knows it.
Still, it’s almost like Horikawa can breathe again when he comes to a stop, a relieved sigh passing his lips just before Yamato sets a finger to the bottom of his chin, tilting it upwards to meet his eyes again. He seems upset and for that Horikawa can’t help but feel a little apologetic in his distant thoughts, but the feeling of the cloth against his face is much kinder than inside of a wound, mumbling a slightly confused, “Yasusada-san?” as a reply to his own name.
But it doesn’t look like Yamato is one for hesitation right now, instead leaning away to dig into the basket, looking at him expectantly before he comes back with a container of honey and prompts him to open his mouth. An explanation before as opposed to after may have helped, but regardless of the fact Horikawa does his best not to let any of the honey go to waste, though so much of it and so plainly feels almost sickly sweet. Swallowing it down like a bitter medicine, he licks his lips by habit to get what remains. Yamato beats him to wiping off what’s been left across his chin before he speaks up again though, to which the wakizashi nods.
“Ah… Thank you.” For not sticking with the more painful method of disinfection, that is. Though for all the residual sweetness left in his mouth, he does feel a little better with having had something, and knowing how this sort of thing goes he’s sure that within a few minutes he’ll be in a much better state than he was, much better than he would have been with another round of salt water. “They are. Well… it’s still easy to forget how badly they respond to this sort of thing, and taking care of them…” Even for the diligent wakizashi it can slip his mind when he’s busy, and unlike repairs to a sword which are done efficiently and comfortably, the healing of a wound to his skin is slow to heal without anyone who can properly perform a repair. Blades may wear in length and sharpness, but blemishes never remain after repairs and polishing; quite unlike a human body that wears the scars it receives for as long as the remainder of its life. And it’s not unlikely that these will scar.
Noting this, the feeling of honey across his wounds themselves is definitely foreign but not so much that Horikawa feels the need to grit his teeth, to squeeze the younger’s wrist. In fact, it’s somewhat soothing, even if a little uncomfortable for the fact that he’s still distantly aware of how sticky the substance is. His eyes close as he waits for Yamato to finish with the wound on his abdomen, and he’s ready to assume that they’re about done when one thing causes them to fly back open in surprise, looking down as he feels a particular warmth against his chest.
His breath catches in his throat, holding as Yamato draws his tongue up his chest and the beginnings of a blush colour his cheeks from the proximity. From the act itself, really, coming from Yamato as it does to cause Horikawa’s heart to beat a mile a minute and his chest to flutter endlessly - though he does manage to pull his eyes away and to the side just as the other reaches the cut itself. Distracting himself with the sight of the cherry blossoms from the feeling of the other’s tongue running across his wound, the distant awareness of the blood that he would have just swallowed down alongside the sweeter honey. It’s lucky they came to land while they were in full bloom, huh… Thoughts that Horikawa considers before his eyes return back to the uchigatana, licking his lips clean of anything left over while he speaks.
“No, I - it’s…” Swallowing again, of more sheepish feelings this time, he’s sure the flush of his face is painfully obvious by now as he shakes his head. “You don’t have to apologize… it…” He trails off. Again. It’s difficult, he’s finding, to find a way to express something that could explain his own embarrassed and even overwhelmed behaviour from the act. That Yamato himself is so unfazed by his own behaviour only serves to make Horikawa’s stand out more, embarrassing him more, and to be honest it’s just a lot. Yamato did a lot - does a lot.
Continues to do a lot as he leans forward, and when Horikawa closes his eyes for a moment, finds that the uchigatana had been after a bit of honey as he blinks them back open. Aah, well, Horikawa will have to go for what he had hoped for himself, it seems. Leaning in to close the distance between them once more and with a tilt of his head to ensure he doesn’t reach any clumsy results, he parts his lips only slightly in the kiss he gives Yamato. It lasts only a few moments, though long enough for him to find that alongside the sweetness that lingers on both of their lips, so does that faintly metallic taste on Yamato’s as he pulls away.
He smiles softly and though he still feels, probably looks a little sleepy and out of it from his blood loss, he’s certainly doing better. What he voices is mostly just a late reassurance, because he’s sure that he’ll have trouble articulating just about anything else like this. “I… I wasn’t going to go unconscious,Yasusada-san. You didn’t have to do that, you know… Ah, but, even so, thank you. I appreciate it.” It’s a little eccentric, but even so it’s nice to be cared for.
Each and every action is nothing beneficial to helping Horikawa as much as the uchigatana can do to help, swallowing down the thick substance and allowing his mind and feelings to settle. It feels like it’s been awhile since he’s ate but it’s bad to eat when he’s basically has a gash in his stomach anyway, though the wakizashi is going through the same thing and the younger deems him to be OK. He’s isn’t the one who pushes the sword farther and deeper into the area where he was stabbed. The mixture of both copper and sweetness in his mouth is very distinct and he can’t tell what brings out which flavor more, but he’s sure that’s enough for now considering the honey would pull at any bacteria. Would they have to clean it out? Wrap it up first?
He does wonder what can be done to help the other but even his thoughts are instantly gone without a trace right when a kiss is pressed upon his lips. Hands are useless at the moment, unable to pull him closer considering he isn’t wearing a shirt so the light trace of his nails is running along the male’s chest, no intention to hurt him at all. It’s because of this that to him; it’s quickly over and he wishes that he could have made it longer. He could tell in the kiss that it might be one of the most sweetest ones (since the honey’s tastes lingers) and even that taste of blood which doesn’t bother him anymore.
Looking at the other’s features and seeing how the red hasn’t faded away, did it come from the kiss or something else though since the other initiated the connection between them two. Clearing his throat as he falls to silence, the feelings in his stomach slowly comes back to him, a tickling feeling that makes him have to take a deep breath. It’s not as bad as he thought it would be but considering how it came the first time and how scary that was to now. It’s really different. Accepting feelings from the other who wants to be by his side, this must be normal for this to happen. Normal as it can be. Of course after the male’s words of appreciating what’s been done, “But I wanted to.” is his replies as he leans back to exchange what was done moments ago.
Parting his lips like the other had done and giving him another kiss, this time, a little longer than the last. He can brush off his own wave of embarrassment and the blush that creeps on his features from before by doing this. Yet, it doesn’t seem like it works that way, kissing the person he’s scarred from battle and that was (or wasn’t to some people) in his right mind to confess in a moment like that. Even through all that he had the audacity to stay with someone like him.. because of that, he can’t help that he places on more kiss against the male’s lips before parting from him. Maybe it was a foolish action but leaning wasn’t too good for his own laceration, a hand resting over it as he flinches.
Taking in a deep breath and stop his movements when he feels the burning in his abdomen, sounding out an ‘aaah’ while trying to get use to it. It was a foolish mistake to pull the other’s sword deeper into that area, but he does’t want Horikawa to worry about it either. He did want to heal Yamato’s wounds before his but luckily Yamato was able to usurp that right. His head bent down as he stares down where his hands covers the area that’s posing one too many problems, if he could, he’d dig inside to find the cause or maybe he allowed something to be hit.
“Maybe it.. was a bad idea to pull your sword like that.. Huh?” He laughs softly as he tries to get over the pain. He has a feeling that if he doesn’t take this into his own hands, the wakizashi will and he doesn’t want him to overwork his body since he should just be sitting there. He’s features look almost tired even when the male is able to reassure that he wasn’t going to faint at all. Shrugging off the pain and giving his attention back to Horikawa, playing it off that it doesn’t hurt him anymore. The younger has been through worse, impaled in different areas and such, to him this could be like a flesh wound that only He made worse.
“Luckily.” He says this to add on, “It doesn’t hurt so bad so I’ll be fine. I could probably tend to it myself.” Which is a slight lie on his part, it’s fine as long as he doesn’t make the other worry that much at all. Parts of his though process is when he should bandage the other is when he picks up the pieces that the other ripped from before, placing his attention back to only the wakizashi, “I am unsure if I remove the honey from the areas or not.. It’s your call, what do you think we should do?” Awaiting his response, they could either wrap him with the substance still there or allow it to have fresh air for a little while longer.
They are swords so all he’d need is someone to work on him more than them, but surely there isn’t a swordsmith around here at all is what he believes. He’d do it himself if he had enough materials but it’s not like that rains from the sky.
