So about the pokemon articles, I used to moderate on the bulbagarden forums and the owner of the wiki and the forums is a total hard ass. If there isn’t an exact source you have to make it a “may be”. It just boils down to owner being kind of pooble.
Let’s talk about how Bulbapedia isn’t 100% sure whether Toucannon, the Pokémon that is just a normal looking toucan drawn in the Pokémon art style, is a toucan or not

Gamefreak needs to publicaly say so though, and that statments needs some form of documentaition.
They publicly said it is a Toucan by naming it Toucan and drawing it as a Toucan.

The first official statement is from the developers at Game Freak who named the Pokemon literally “Big Toucan” in Japanese.
The second official statement was when the name was translated into English as “Toucan Cannon.”
The third official statement was the artists at Game Freak who drew Toucannon as a bird who is anatomically identical to the real life animal known as a Toucan. From the black tipped orange striped beak, to the dark blue eyes, to the black feathers with a white patch under the beak, to the orange poof of feathers at the butt of the Toucan, to the yellow patch of feathers near the eye, and down to the small blue three toed feet. They literally just drew a normal toucan and then said it was a Pokemon.
Anyways, I think it is safe to say Toucannon is based on a Toucan. There is nothing about its design that isn’t a toucan. Toucannon is a more anatomically accurate toucan than the most iconic toucan, Toucan Sam.
Its name in Korean is King Toucan. Its name in Cantonese and Mandarin is Big Gun Toucan. Its name in French is Bazooka Toucan. And every other translation is just Toucan Cannon again.
