"Sev! You are doing it all wrong! I told you to go left!" You pouted as you tried to instruct her. The moving in together turned out to be much more complicated than both of you thought.
"For fucks sake! My left or your left?" Sevika began to get frustrated. It was late at night and she had work early in the morning. The last thing on her mind was arguing about couch’s placement in the living room. You, on the other hand, clearly had different priorities.
"Does it matter?" You asked dumbfounded and you swore Sevika’s eyelid twitched in frustration.
"Doll, you are damn lucky you got yourself a woman like me." She tried to play it off but her bags under eyes told a whole different story.
"But if you didn’t have a sweet girl like me, you wouldn’t even think of getting things like couch or a bed frame." You winked at her and smiled brightly. But her reaction was far from ideal considering your praiseworthy comment.
"I’m sure my wallet thinks otherwise." You only stared her down from head to toes. The snarky remark added fuel to the fire.
"Oh, quit it! I told you I could pay for it!" You only rolled your eyes in disapproval and sat down on the nearby chair.
It was true, the flat belongs to Sevika. However, after endless arguments about moving in, Sevika gave in and let you decorate the apartment with anything you wanted. But her version of decorating clearly never matched yours. You were aware that Sevika is a simple woman - she doesn’t spend money lightly (excluding cigar). Thus, soft blankets, furniture, and cute trinkets collecting dust on shelves have never been on your girlfriend’s mind.
"With what money?" She only chuckled as she grabbed you from the chair and sat you on her lap. "You can’t even save a penny. You spend too much time with your head is in clouds, darling."
You turned your head towards hers so lively your hair smashed her face. The dramatic act cost you a harsh pinch on your thigh as a punishment.
"Ouch, brute!" You whined in pain and started massaging the abused spot. Sevika’s gaze was focused on you as she tried her best not to annoy you even more.
"Beside, I will pay the mortgage." You declared proudly with a big smile. Yet, Sevika mockingly laughed at your announcement and hid her face in the crook of your neck.
"Doll, your part time job wouldn’t even cover it." The snort made your blood boil. You pushed yourself off her muscular body and stuck out your tongue.
"Fine! I will be a damn parasite!" Truth be told, you did appreciate Sevika’s need to be in control. You never had to ask yourself if you could afford anything. Sevika always had everything covered for you whether it was a new bag you definitely didn’t need or some trinket you found in a vintage store.
"I will gladly keep such a pretty parasite, though." She got up and patted your thigh playfully. "C’mon, darling… I’d rather have us in bed than arguing about this couch."
Needless to say, the couch was long forgotten and left in the place it wasn’t meant to be.
