Struggling but it’s all good.

I have been struggling lately. With the past, present, future, relationships and self love. But, I know that’s okay. It’s all part of the journey. I find that saying little affirmations to myself really help. Especially “I am brave.” It makes it more bearable continuing on with the day. Sleeping and reading has also been a good cure to this. I have had to cut some people out of my life. So there isn’t many people to talk too much about this with. Hence this “blog/ online journal”...Hopefully this doesn’t bite me in the ass later down the road. 

But for now tumblr you are going to become my bff. And can I just say...thank God for the fandoms and all the fanfics.

Friday Feels- Quote of the Day

I was pondering this as I was listening to new music. Every time I go through heart break my music taste explodes and listens to everything under the sun just to feel something other than hurt. I love that. Anytime I am faced with hardship, at least I will know that good music will come from it.

Also can I just say last week Panic! at the Disco dropped pure gold. And now Florence + the Machine just dropped my heart. Yup, we are in for it.

Hello! I’m back from my little get away! As the past 5 days have been full of activities and catching up with people. I was reminded that people are people. Even though people are fantastic; make sure you take care of yourself first. If you don’t take care of yourself, you won’t be able to help others! In these times where human rights seem to be threatened everyday, I think it is important to remember this. That we all have a voice, and though it may take time for that voice to make an immediate impact, I think it is something we should never silence. Even if it is for things that seem like common sense, look at the Civil Rights movement; it took over 12 years to get segregation to end once the Civil Rights movement started in 1954.

On that note, with our rights to a free internet being threatened all over the world, we should be aware and stand up to it. The internet is one of these most powerful tools in the world. A place to spread ideas, connections, knowledge and news! No wonder they want it to be controlled, with our access to anything ever on the internet, our generation is much stronger and more powerful than we know. So, let us not accept the fate of our internet just yet. It will take time but the fight for the right of a free internet is not over.

The Sprout in the Dark

This is dedicated to everyone going through a dark period in their life, or to anyone who has survived a rough time. Imagine:

There is a little seed. For his whole entire existence he has consciously known nothing but darkness. He has been in the dark dirt of the earth for as long as he can remember. Every day he just takes in all that is given to him, such as water and nutrients that come from the dirt. He just kept going and continued to grow, despite the feeling that he may never outgrow this dark place where he lives.

The day he finally sprouted from the darkness is one he will never forget. The way he pushed off the last of the dirt that was keeping him down! The sudden rush of the clean, purifying air. The warm heat that was kissing upon him. The sweet rain cleansing his dirty skin. The captivating music of praising birds. The little sprout looked down at what he became and for the first time saw his own transformation out of the dark. He was stronger, greener, and the most joyous that he had ever been. His life was now full of light and celebration! He was ready to continue on growing into his new life. Even if he was only a little sprout.

I hope that you can relate to this, and that you overcome and grow past your dark times. Because sunny days are ahead!
