kendrickhowell:
Groaning in embarrassment, Kendrick asked, âPlease donât let this get back to my unit. Iâll never live this down if they find out.â Knowing he couldnât stay on the library steps all day, Kendrick grabbed the railing and slowly pulled himself into a standing position. âOkay, no blacking out this time. Thatâs a start. I just need to get down the stairs now.â His hand never left the rail. In fact his hand gripped the rail tighter until his knuckles went whiter than they already were. âGod, I didnât realise there were so many stairs.â
âHmm, what do I get for keeping quiet?â Her brow perked at him before she saw him starting to stand, her hand going to his back to offer some type of support though she canât really offer too much, she was a twig so to speak. âThink I better walk with you a little bit before I head off, donât need it on my conscience if you pass out in the middle of traffic. And yeah, thereâs a lot of stairs but look, youâre already halfway down. I wonât let you fall, or well, I should say Iâll try my best.â
kendrickhowell:
âThanks. Love hearing that when I feel like shit. It makes everything better,â he replied sarcastically. Except he was smiling as he said it, so it wasnât completely sarcastic. âI wish I could say the pasty look was temporary, but I canât. Iâm Welsh.â It took a couple of seconds for Kendrick to catch on to why Ollie was holding her hand out at him, but he quickly recovered and shook her hand. âSorry. Iâm Kendrick. Itâs nice to meet ya. Wish it had been under less embarrassing circumstances though.â
âWell, I could have lied and said you didnât but I prefer to be honest and upfront,â Ollie gave a shrug. âAh, alright, so youâre Casper the Friendly Ghost day in and day out. Good to know. Oh but just imagine the stories Iâll get to tell my friends about the Welsh boy that nearly passed out in front of me, I can lie and say that you were so awestruck by my beauty that I made you weak.â Nice to meet you Kendrick.â
kendrickhowell:
Letting out a short laugh himself that brought on a wave of queasiness which made him close his eyes in the hopes that doing so would make the feeling go away, Kendrick didnât risk shaking his head in response. When he was sure he could speak without possibly getting sick, he finally looked up at her and said, âIâm not sure if I can keep anything down. I think I just need a minute though. I was only a little dizzy.â
Ollie waited, keeping an eye on him as she adusted her bag on her shoulder. âYeah, well, no offense? But you look like youâve seen a ghost. You have that whole pasty look going on.â She grinned down at him before moving to sit next to him. It was hard to tell if she was joking or not about the ghost comment. Extending her hand, Ollie gave a little half smirk. âIâm Ollie.â
Leave it to Kendrick to catch a bug when he was on leave. Heâd gotten up before sunrise feeling fine, went through his usual morning routine just fine, but by the time he had wrapped up his work at the library around noon, he could barely keep his eyes open. Heâd managed to put his work back in his messenger bag and make his way outside. The stairs proved trickier for him, however. One step down threw off his equilibrium completely and he nearly blacked out. âOh, shit,â he muttered, dropping his bag as he forced himself to sit so he wouldnât fall.
âWhoa there tiger,â Ollie laughed and leaned against the railing of the stairs as she looked him over. Sheâd been coming out herself after a grueling study session for her design class when she saw him wobble just a little bit. âYou need some help?  I can call someone for you if you want, or maybe a drink of water?â
If youâre nice, Iâll let you buy me a slushie.
londonboysquad:
âYeah, I donât really know too much about it all⌠Just that neither of them talk to or about them, really.â Shaun didnât know that much about Charlie at all, other than the fact he was a little weird. He seemed to love his sister, though, and that was all that mattered to Shaun. âThereâs about two years between each kid. I think they planned it that way, honestly. Iâm the youngest, then oneâs 25, oneâs 27, 29, and the oldest is 30.âÂ
âWell, Iâm sure they have their reasons whatever it is. Sheâll tell you eventually,â Ollie smiled just a little bit before wincing. âDamn, I can imagine what growing up was like, had to be painful with four sisters. Iâd probably warn your girl though that the conversation happened in case she talks to mama dearest.â
londonboysquad:
âUh, even if they were, both of them are estranged.â He frowned slightly. âTrin hasnât talked to her parents since⌠before I met her, even, and Charlie even longer than that, if I remember right. Trin might mention it, but if she does, sheâs totally kidding. Just trying to annoy her brother, yâknow?â Telling his mom to stop was easier said than done, definitely. âI gave it a shot. Iâm the youngest out of five, and my sisters are all married already. Iâm the only wedding left, so to speak.âÂ
âOh, see I didnât know that? Charlie never talks about them, he only talks about his sister. Iâll remember that sheâs just joking. Not that Charlie would make a horrible husband, heâd probably make a good one? But we arenât even dating so thatâs a really, really long way off.â Pausing, Ollie smiled, just a bit. âAnd how old are your sisters? Iâm an only child, I guess I lucked out on this whole marriage thing.â
londonboysquad:
âOf course she does. Which like, wouldnât be the worst thing in the world, but Trin and I havenât even discussed kids, let alone planned any.â
âGuess itâs going to be time to discuss that isnât it? But uh, Trinâs family isnât like that too right? Iâm not going to have to worry about her or her mother going to Charlie and being like hey you should put a ring on that girls finger because I will literally be out the door so fast. Did you tell her to stop it and that youâd ask when and if youâre ready?â
londonboysquad:
âThank you! That was my point exactly.â He shook his head, âShe kept telling me I wasnât getting any younger, and she wanted grandkids, and ugh⌠I think itâs a Hispanic mom thing.â
"Uh there's men that are seventy having kids. So she needs to stop really. Let me guess she wants you to have a big family too?"
âMy mom actually asked me if I was planning on proposing for Valentineâs Day. It hasnât even been 6 months, and sheâs already telling me about wedding locations she saw in O Magazine last issue.â
âUh, sounds like your mom needs to take a tranquilizer. Isnât that a bit soon to pop the question?â
âSo what can I get for you?â it was her last shift on the bar before closing, she had to serve the clients that were there, she walked up to the person sitting in front of the bar, her hands pressed together as she leaned closeÂ
âI will literally take the strongest thing that you can throw at me, thank you.â

Molly nodded her head along as she listened to her. She explained it in a way that made it sound easy, although, she knew if she tried to do it, she would end up in a big mess. âYou make it sound easy.â She laughed.Â
âI know,â Ollie laughed before waving her hand. âNice talking to you Harry Potter girl, maybe weâll run into each other again sometime.â
