As Olly had come in to explain his already strange day, Emmeyy was dealing with something else entirely. He hadn’t heard back from Gabi in days, even weeks by now. And it was starting to concern him. “Yeah…yeah…Sounds awful.” He muttered back. “Not the little heartbreaker you once were, are you?”

He sighed, slouching as he sat down. “I guess not, which I’m not sure if it’s mildly concerning or something I should be proud of.” Moving to this town and starting a new life seemed to be in more ways than one, this just wasn’t what he expected. “Did you become the heartbreaker instead and didn’t tell me? Have we switched places?”

“Dude, this weird was strange.” Olly hopped onto the couch as he came in the door, propping his feet up on the table as he made himself comfortable. “This might have been the first year I didn’t have to explain to some girl we weren’t dating and Valentine’s Day would just be an ordinary day and nothing special.”

“That’s….not something I thought I was gonna have to face today—And, that’s good at least. You weren’t making everybody forget they had slept with you.” She paused, the tip coming in handy for future use. “Hickeys? God, what are we, middle schoolers? I guess that’s good to know just in case.” Bailee was more of the drain and let them to die type, but she still wasn’t sure she was comfortable in letting him know that yet, seeing that he clearly hadn’t killed everybody he drank from. “Well, now you can’t compel me to forget, even if it turns out you’re really bad in bed. Don’t worry, I’ll be honest with you.”

“How could I take away such a valuable piece of their college career?” He joked before rolling his eyes. “You went too low, high school is more like it. I’m closer in age to them anyways.” Olly chuckled more to himself than anything at the joke he made about himself. “Use it, don’t use it. Here it doesn’t matter as much unless they’re a completely unsuspecting human, but that seems to last only so long anyways.” He shrugged, seeing as everyone in this town was something or other. “You just want to tear down my ego don’t you? I’m sorry to disappoint because it’s not going to happen. You’ll have admit I know how to make you feel good.”

“A life wish then?” Emmy chuckled shortly as he tried not to think about the future much, especially their future. It was already starting to show, the differences between the two, apart from the more obvious differences that let people tell them apart, Emmy could tell by other things that Olly wasn’t aging, and it was only bound to get worse and time wore on. “I mean…maybe you do know everything about me—” He didn’t want to believe so, but it was probably true. “One new person? I’ll raise your one and I’ll talk to at least three new people.” He finished off his drink confidently, adding, “Just sit back and watch brother.”

He threw up his hands defensively, “Okay, okay. I see how you want tonight to go. You’re raising the stakes.” Which gave him even more of a reason to provide his brother with a never ending supply of drinks until whichever of the two left first. “I’ll be enjoying my time watching that drink of yours to get you refills. Now....do you think you can get any numbers? Since you aren’t keen on taking them home.”

“I just hope you can keep up with me,” she teased as she followed him into the dance floor. She let the music take hold, letting her hips swing and her hands glide through her hair as she stayed close to her partner. She had never did this kind of thing; she could only hope she was doing this right and didn’t look like a complete moron. 

“Oh, babe. You have no idea,” he easily fell into the joking as he let go and enjoyed the music. Besides the liquid courage, dancing was one of his favorite things to do at a party. The ability to let loose and have fun combined into one aspect couldn’t be passed up if he had the chance. Olly finally spoke up after a few moments, “I’m Olly.”

“You kinky little fucker. So you really were a vampire this whole time? And what, you were compelling people to forget?” She paused a horror coming over her face as she realized that when she was human, she could have been compelled. “You didn’t…compel me, did you?” Bailee asked, hoping that he could be honest with her. “You could only be so lucky.”

A smirk formed, “I really was. Don’t think you ever really knew me before I turned, but yeah I was. Not typically the sleeping together part unless it ruined my image. Though no one caught on to the small bite marks on people’s necks. Hickeys really cover up those quite well.” His head shook, “God, no. I wouldn’t have let you forget hooking up with me if we did. Plus, I like having you as a friend.”

“God, you must have a death wish on me, huh?” Emmett only chuckled as he took another drink from his glass, wondering if it were even possible to get blackout drunk as a wolf. He certainly hadn’t tried it, especially with all the terrible memories drinking gave him. “You don’t know everything about me—” It was true, Emmy wasn’t big on one night stands, but with the reminder to have fun, he put a hand up in retaliation. “Alright, alright. Fine. I’ll…try to have fun tonight. Who knows, maybe I’ll meet someone?”

“Nah, never. The opposite typically.” The looming dread of Emmy aging while he stayed the same would always be there, no matter how much he tried to live in the present with the time they did have. “Oh, I don’t? Please enlighten me,” Olly teased, no matter how true the statement. He shared a lot with his brother, but never in excruciating detail most of the time. “That’s the spirit! I won’t judge you for not trying to hook up with someone in your drunken state, as long as if you make the effort to at least talk to one new person. How bad could that be?”

“Yeah well, let’s just leave it at that then Olly. Until of course we’re exploring each other’s bodies again.” It was always an option. Bailee knew that in the back of her mind. Olly was always there for her, and she knew that all she needed was to say the word. “No kidding. Sometimes it’s the only thing I can think about.” It wasn’t something that she told many people, as everyone usually knocked it off as to being a newborn, but she knew it was something a little bit darker within her. “Guess it’s only a matter of time until I get to see what all your hype is about. And, I’m not trying to get bit by any werewolf, I promise—And, that’s exactly what I’m saying. Do you think you can handle me?”

His mind was reeling at the prospect of getting to do anything with her. He’d tried for years, and some part of the both of them now being vampires was raising his hopes that it might actually happen. “The good thing about going to a university with a limited supernatural knowledge, you can get away with taking a bite out of a few people without questions. I just turned it into hooking up with people and feeding off them.” He smirked, an explanation of why he acted the way he did now. “You won’t regret it. I’ll make sure you aren’t looking to hookup with anyone else.”

“I don’t think you’ll have to worry about that. With enough of these in me—” He paused lifting the drink up, “I should be fine, and I think you know that.” Emmy gave a slight shrug. “I know, I know. But… I’d rather form a real connection. I don’t have forever like you to continually just have one night stands.”

“Oh, I do, which is why I’m never letting your glass be empty until we have to leave.” He patted Emmett’s back, finishing off his own drink. “That would imply you’re actually participating in one night stands. But, I get it. You want something meaningful, and blah blah. Just make sure you’re having a little fun mixed in their too.

“No kidding. Trust me when I say I know my way around your dick.” She chuckled as they fell into their usual antics. “I don’t know! It…It wasn’t exactly on the forefront of my mind!” Bailee interjected, despite hearing her fair share of Russ and Emma, unfortunately. She knew she was too deep into the bloodlust that filled that desire, for now. “Damn, and here I thought I had already gone through all the perks. Sex sounds amazing.” Bailee took a moment to cool herself down before looking over him. “Yeah, I can barely stand the smell of wolves, let alone think about banging them. Though, kinky shit suddenly sounds a whole lot more appealing now.” She rolled her eyes back at him. “If I don’t get laid, promise you’ll help me out?”

“Oh, please. Like I don’t know every inch of that body of yours. You can’t pull that card with me, Bailee. We both know more about the other than most.” His head nodded, realizing she was still pretty new to the whole vampire thing. “Yeah, I guess the whole bloodlust thing kind of ruins the fun of it all.” Unless, he gave her his way of getting over it by combining the two. The perks of going to a school where most thought vampires were only a myth. “Sex is always amazing, and now it gets even better.” He looked her over, his offer about to come out again with the way she was reacting. Even so, he’d help be a wingman if necessary. “Now that it’s on your brain, anything sounds good. Though, I was being serious about it leading to a painful death if they actually bit you.” An eyebrow raised, processing what she asked. “So you’re saying if you we don’t find someone for you to sleep with, you want me to scratch this itch?”

“God, I wish.” He said, taking the ordered drink from off the bar and giving into the liquor easily, hoping for it to at least help settle some nerves. “I’m texting her right now, hoping for a response soon. She was…I don’t think she’s the type of girl you take home like that though. She’s…She’s a keeper.”

He took the drink placed in front of him, drinking about half before nodding his head. “Well, even so, let’s hope she’s around here and I can at least not worry that you’re sitting alone in a corner. And whether or not you take her home as I suggest, there are different versions of taking someone home. It’s not only a one track mind up here,” he tapped at his temple with a chuckle.

“You’re serious? Alright, fuck it–let’s go” She felt the smile growing on her lips.What did she have to loose? She was here to have a new life, but she’d done everything but live. Or so her therapist seemed to remind her. She grabbed his hand with a sly grin. “Show me what you’ve got.”

“Of course I am.” He chuckled, pulling her out to where the dance floor surely should be. “Be prepared, I definitely have some moves.” Olly stated, finding a beat to the music as he moved his hips and arms.

“Okay, you caught me.” Not that it was hard to. She had probably seen Olly’s junk more times than anybody else’s for that matter, and that was while she was dating other guys in school. Still, at his question, she blinked back, surprised by herself. “Fuck, I haven’t even had sex as a vampire, let alone with another vampire. Are you saying…what, do you even tire yourself out afterwards, or do you just keep going? This opens up a whole new world, you know that right?”

“More than once,” he joked, although out of everyone he knew, he was as close with her as he was his brother. Olly started to laugh as she spoke, more surprised than anything at what she was admitting. “How the fuck have you not had sex in what? Almost two months? You could keep going if you want, but really only other vampires or werewolves can keep up. Be careful with werewolves though because any kinky shit with biting is a one way ticket to dying. Okay, I don’t even care if you don’t go home with me to have sex, please just go home with someone. You need to get laid.”

“Thanks Olly.” Emmett wasn’t sure how the other could guarantee his safety, but it certainly made him feel a little bit better about trying to get drunk that night. He also knew it would help his nerves entirely. “What, you….you want me to take someone home then? I…I don’t think I’m ready for something like that. That’s all you man.”

Olly ordered the two of them a drink, reminding himself to pace through his own so as to make sure Emmett would be getting home without any issues. The one thing he could reassure for his brother to at least attempt to get him to relax. “I know that’s mostly my thing, but why not try? How about that girl from the library? You already had a noteworthy first meeting, she’s gotta be around here somewhere for you to have a second.”

“The whole night? How very generous of you Oliver.” Bailee continued to play the game that he was playing, wondering just how many times he was going to try to get her to go home with him. “You mean for like a sleepover right? I’m not really allowed to stay over at boys’ houses anyways.” She teased back in a sickly innocent voice.

He rolled his eyes, the teasing a never ending act between them. Olly wasn’t exactly hung up on her, but he’d been trying to take her to bed for years making it almost routine. “Oh come on, we both know you’re not that innocent. Have you had sex with a vampire yet? It’s pretty fucking hot.”

“Oh, will it? You forcing me to drink tonight?” He knew that in the long run, he’d be thankful for it, his sensitivities already driving him up the wall as it was, but at Olly’s discourse, maybe things would actually be bearable. “I know you’re right. But…tell that to my gut feeling that something bad is gonna happen. It might not be the drinks this time, but this place always just gave me bad vibes. Yet, somehow it’s still standing. I could use some of its advice in staying so strong after so much tragedy.”

His head nodded, “Yup, because you deserve to relax for an evening. And I’ll make sure you make it home safely.” Olly already determined he’d be having a great time, adding his brother into the mix wouldn’t be too hard. If he kept his brother’s cup full, there’d be no reason for him to join in on the fun. “Emmy, you gotta stop jumping to worst case scenario tonight. This is supposed to be fun, that’s what you need to focus on. Look around! There’s a ton of beautiful people, all ready to not go home alone. You could be a part of that.”
