THE DEATH AND LIFE OF MARSHA P. JOHNSON (2017)
History isnāt something you look back at and say it was inevitable. It happens because people make decisions that are sometimes very impulsive and of the moment, but those moments are cumulative realities. ā Marsha P. Johnson
Queens started being filed out and being put into police cars, and guns had been drawn. Molotov cocktails were flying. And Iām like, āOh my God, the revolution is here. Thank God. Youāve been treating us like shit all these years? Uh uh. Now itās our turn.ā ā Sylvia Rivera
THE FIRST PRIDE WAS A RIOT HAPPY PRIDE | BLACK LIVES MATTER
Please, if you're doing Blackout Tuesday, use that tag because the BLM tag looks like this right now
Yummy sky raisinsĀ

The blogs this message is being posted to are not frequently updated, but I think itās important to make my stance excessively clear regardless of that.
This blog stands with the protesters fighting for justice for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and all other innocent black lives taken by police officers who still have not been arrested and charged appropriately for their crimes.
I implore all of you who follow these blogs to stand with the Black Lives Matter movement, listen to black voices and pay attention to what theyāre asking for, and help them however youāre able.
This link leads to a collection of resources on how to assist the protests and places you can send donations to.
Please show love for your fellow humans. Property lost can be repaired or replaced, but lives can never be brought back. None of this would be happening if the officers at fault had been held accountable and charged for the murders.
More:
āLawyers offering pro bono services for arrested protestors. Minneapolis, Houston, New York, Atlanta, Los Angeles. I know there are far more
This is great, it really is. But also: if you can, and especially if youāre up on charges that could result in prison time, please ask your local BLM or other activist group about pro bono lawyers that they have a experience with.
Handling activist cases takes experience. Like any aspect of legal cases, itās something people specialize in and someone who isnāt specialized in it yet is going to have less results. If at all possible, find a lawyer that has done a case like yours many times before.
Itās great that so many people who do not usually take activist cases are stepping up now that a lot more lawyers will be needed. Some of them might stick around and pretty much every activist movement needs more committed pro bono activism lawyers. But, ya know.. still think about how complicated your case is as you decide who should represent you.
RB IF YOU AGREE
clearview AI can recognize faces even given an input image where the subjectās nose and mouth are covered (nytimes)
stop posting images of protesters
i made info from the article into a graphic for crossposting onto other platforms!! forgive the art, i am a babey at using illustrator
thank you!!
I havenāt been seeing this on many protest posts so I want to add it here even though I donāt know if itās really facial recognition tech related:
Donāt just cover your face!
You need to cover everything that is identifyiable about you, which especially means things like tattoos, distinctive hair colors/styles, and prominent piercings. Modifications to your body make you stand out, which is cool sometimes BUT NOT DURING A PROTEST.
Fresh list of organizations that need funding after this week
A lot of the lists on tumblr have been circulating all week and some of the organizations have taken in as much as they can use with the size/scope of their mission. I signed up to the excellent Reclaim the Block and they just posted this list on their facebook.

Centro de Trabajadores Unidos en Lucha - CTUL is a worker-led organization where workers organize, educate and empower each other to fight for a voice in their workplaces and in their communities.
Du Nord Riot Recovery Fund - Du Nord Craft Spirits is a Black-owned distillery with a building that was damaged. Theyāve āreceived a tidal wave of love and support from across the nation and many have asked how they can help⦠Therefore, Du Nord is establishing this fund to support black and brown companies affected by the riots.ā
Little Earth Residents Association - Food and safety needs for residents of Little Earth of United Tribes.

The Minnesota Healing Justice Network, Pimento Relief Fund, Powwow Grounds, Southside Harm Reduction, Spiral Collective, and Unicorn Riot all have PayPal as an option!
i know thereās a lot going on but ICE are now one step closer to literally creating gas chambers. they are spraying a chemical called HDQ neutral roughly 100 times a day, every 15 minutes at the adelanto detention center (one of the biggest in the country). people are getting rashes, headaches, their insides are bleeding, etc. the guards are wearing gloves and masks but the detainees have NOTHING. and hereās a quick reminder - america inspired the nazis to create gas chambers when they gassed latino people during the 1917 bath riots.Ā
hereās a petition to sign.Ā itās close to itās goal. if thereās anything else we can do to help iāll update this post.
I donāt have the words to properly explain how horrifying this is. In April, the advocacy group Freedom For Immigrants published a report about unsanitary conditions at the detention center, where the immigrants were made to clean the facilities with only water, or shampoo. According to their report, there were sick detainees there - possibly with COVID-19, but itās unclear since they werenāt being tested - and the conditions could easily lead to a situation in which the virus exploded among those there.
The guards are spraying this disinfectant in retaliation for the report. To be clear - HDQ is an industrial-strength disinfectant, which according to the manufacturer is āharmful if inhaledā and ācauses severe skin burns and serious eye damage.ā The guards are spraying it on everything every 15-30 minutes, according to sources, and immigrants in the center have already experienced severe symptoms including blisters, rashes, bleeding, fainting, breathing difficulties, headaches, stomach pain, and nausea.
And letās be real - ICE doesnāt give a shit, either about protecting these people or about preventing a COVID outbreak. ICE, according to their own reports, currently has 25,911 people in custody, of which only 2,670 have been tested. 1,392 of those were positive. In simple terms - less than 10% of detainees have been tested. Of those, more than half are positive. We cannot estimate how many sick people ICE is currently holding, or how many more will get sick without any kind of prevention or care.
ICE is killing people through neglect, and when they dared complain - they started gassing them.
Unfortunately, with Trump in the white house, petitions arenāt doing much. What we can do, however, is donate to the advocacy group that is bringing these things to light, allowing them to continue their work and hopefully free more immigrants. Their donation page is here. Please spread this.
I did this compilation right after Vine went down, and I thought I lost it, but I finally found it
I was walking my dog in a public park by some soccer fields and there was this birthday party going on that turned into an orgy. So I was obviously freaked out and took my dog and ran into the woods where we ran into Charles de Gaulle sitting alone at a table with a cake on it and a giant SpongeBob piƱata hanging on a tree branch. He looked sad so me and my dog decided to join him. Basically, de Gaulle was sad because he was the party planner or something and it all messed up so he had to hide in the woods and he stole the cake and the piƱata. We just talked for a bit and it was really nice. Honestly, I forgot most of this, but the dream ended up with us fucking on the table in the middle of the woods and now Iām scared to sleep again.
this went from 0 to 100 to 0 back to 100 realĀ fast
Reminder that it really doesnāt matter what ways youāre marginalized, if youāre not black youāre just as capable of anti blackness as white cishet people. No amount of ābut Iām gay!ā, ābut Iām trans!ā, or ābut Iām not white!ā changes that.
And being neurodiverse/disabled isnāt an excuse for anti blackness either.
Donāt like this post if youāre not gonna also reblog it.
Boost my voice, donāt just like it for woke points.
Iād fucking love it if white people didnāt use this post to pat themselves on the back. I guarantee that no amount of ādonāt people know this already?ā or āisnāt this obvious?ā will actually make you a good ally to black people.
The only things that will make you a good ally to us is listening to us, boosting our voices, defending us when we need it, calling out your fellow whites when they display overt and/or covert racist behavior, and checking yourself consistently.
holy shit
