They’re bonding in Ford’s dorm before Spring C. Nursey is the prettiest person and has the longest eyelashes, Lardo watches hours of makeup tutorials every week and owns half of Sephora but still only does their eyeliner, and Ford wishes she didn’t have boobs anymore but fuckinnnnn there they are still.

Nurseychow #30?

Nursey likes how C’s voice gets gravelly when he tries to whisper. He’s not good at it, not remotely, and trying – like he is now – turns every word into something of an unintelligible grunt. The result is Nursey shifting closer on the roof, muttering “huh?” after every statement, and C clicking his tongue in frustration a lot.

“Last year was okay,” he’s trying to mutter, everything hoarse and raw, getting uncontrollably louder with each word, “but being the only frog in the Haus was like… I mean, I think I absorbed all the stress from the seniors into my own body, and then like, watching Bitty procrastinate and being up all the time baking at three a.m. –”

“Nah, man. This’ll be so much better. We can just, like, hang out all the time, and keep things calm and –”

“Chill?” He says it jokingly, and he says it full-volume, and Nursey hurries to shush him with a cautious glance to his open bedroom window.

“If you wake up Dex, he’ll throw me off the fucking roof himself.”

C barks a laugh before he can catch himself, eyes widening and pushing his face into his scarf. Nursey holds his eyes, raising an eyebrow and huddling further into his own coat. C mutters something, again too low, again too hoarse, and Nursey watches with unrepentant fascination as his face floods over all red.

“Huh?”C shakes his head. “I’ll tell you in the morning.”

i know people like to imagine Jack going to shul and stuff, but like imagine if you will that the Zimmermanns were really trying to be practicing when Jack is little, like going to service one a week, having big get togethers on the High Holy Days, etc etc. Well, imagine as Jack gets older, with his parents careers and hockey, that once a week becomes once every two weeks, then once a month, then just going for holidays, then just saying “Oh, Alicia, did you know today is Rosh Hashanah?” “Haha, let’s get some Chinese to celebrate and try to be all together tonight then”. So Jack feels like he lost something along the way. He loved the structure of services, how they were always the same but the meaning you can give to different prayers can change the entire experience; how no one asked him about hockey, just school and friends and pinching his cheeks and asking if he wants more food; how calming the music was to him, how singing a certain prayer could help him when having an anxiety attack. He feels like he’s grown up and lost this. So, after the overdose, doctors and his parents ask him what they can do to help him gain structure, some sort of home base, and he just kind of gets embarrassed but says “Take me to Temple?” and so he starts going every week and getting sort of involved with the goings on, maybe teaching the b'nei mitzah kids Torah trope because he remembered he liked the patterns and was good at it (i headcanon hes a good singer dont look at me) and that’s how Jack Zimmermann rediscovers his Jewishness on his own terms, choosing to become more religious as an adult. — broadwayholster

im dead and also cryign bc everytime i think abt jack zimmermann rediscovering his jewishness in the aftermath of his od i get really emotional??? like he doesnt have a lot of time for it at school or w the falconers but he tries to go to shul when he can and sometimes he just sits in the synagogue and he feels more peaceful

Just some frogs friendship set during their senior year. Features headed-to-the-NHL!Chowder and discussion about Charmer.

“Did your tattoo hurt?” Chowder asks suddenly, looking away from the game to gesture at Nursey’s arm.

“It’s worse than a massage. Why? Getting a shark somewhere unmentionable?” he asks, to the amusement of everyone gathered around the TV.

“Since I’m still going to be playing —” Chowder’s interrupted by cheers “— I might get a ring tattooed on when Cait and I get married.”

The room falls into stunned silence.

“I’m asking her after graduation, so if she says yes. And if my parents don’t —”

He’s cut off again by shouts, and nearly smothered as his teammates pile on to celebrate.

When @mkaybuddy!!! approached me for a painted portrait of Chris Chow and mentioned that they hc him as trans, and would like to see a nod to that, and to him being a Sharks fan in the portrait I was like YES. ABSOLUTELY. 100% ON BOARD.
