Many years later, in Asgard...
"DΓ³mr, step forward." Odin's booming voice ordered from his bench. I rose to my feet and stepped towards the defendant - a palace worker that had dared to steal Frigga's jewelry while on duty, or so he's accused.
My hands clasp behind my back, leaning forward just a smidge in unsated curiosity as I hold the accused's gaze. "Agnar," I stated firmly, searching his eyes for the tell-tale signs of deceit, could feel his body tensing with the friction of his lousy half-truths he had been spilling over the last half-hour - a true sociopath at heart. "Did you steal Queen Frigga's jewels?"
"No, I did not." Agnar affirmed, seeming to be confident in his answer - too confident. He was convincing, I could at least give him that much. Your thoughts cannot hide your lies to the naked eye for long, however, nor can your heart.
"He is lying to you, DΓ³mr." She hissed.
Straightening, I nod in response to his answer, taking a moment to let the thought settle on my tongue to ensure that I make the correct decision, making sure that I agreed with Lady Karma. His life was in my hands, after all. I turn on my heel, looking up to Odin atop his court pedestal. "He is lying, Your Highness."
After my declaration, I step back to my seat across the half-wall barricading the defendant from the onlooking audience. The palace walls were a shimmering silver with milky white pillars and accents across the courtroom. The crowd was respectable and quiet, no one in particular seeming too noteworthy besides a few people who were frequent watchers that I had somewhat gotten to know across my time spent in Asgard. This was the room I practically resided in, after all.
"Now, I will only ask you one more time," Odin warned dangerously, leaning forward with his hand supporting his head. If I was being honest, The Allfather had always startled me, in tales and after meeting in person. Somehow, seeing him up close was an entire new level of fear. "Are you sure that is the story you would like to stick to?"
A beat of silence passed, then another, before Agnar responded, "Yes, Your Highness."
"Very well, then." Odin declared, lounging back on the bench with a content smile on his face. Oh, how he loved punishment. "I hereby find you guilty, sentenced to ten years in our own palace's jail cells. I suggest you work hard and think about the crimes you have committed against your kingdom in the meantime." He cruelly ruled, motioning for the jailers to take the criminal away. Once the prick was out of sight, Odin ajourned the court for this evening and the civilians flooded out of the courtroom.
After speaking to the few lingering guests for a moment and wishing my farewells, Lady Karma's voice spoke to me. "Turn around."
When I did, my eyes fell onto a shadow in the corner of the courtroom. What I find there - or who I find, rather - was none other than the infamous Loki. The lurking, dark Prince of Asgard. The man seemed to always have some sort of trick up his sleeve, no matter the occasion - and if he wasn't tricking someone, he was watching. He was always watching, and nobody walked the palace grounds without his knowledge of it. We held eye contact for a long second, a second that felt far longer than what the reality proved to be. Then, as quiet as he came, he vanished into the darkness. I shrugged off the encounter, seeing as how Loki was being... Well, Loki.
Now that court was done with for this day, I exited the room and traveled down the shiny silver halls of the Royal Palace, alone with my distractingly loud thoughts. As I reach my destination of the library, I began to wonder how many times I had actually walked this hall - probably a sum of time that could equate to many of days worth of walking if you put it all together. I wondered how little the walls had changed in this walkway, a stark contrast to how vastly my life had changed over the years.
It was... sentimental, almost. Nostalgic, even. To think that I had made it this far, had survived a trap that was determined to belittle and harm me. To have lived through a literal serum that seemed to curse me with an ever-present voice of some deity-like earworm. An earworm she simply just couldn't shake off, yet seemed to have single-handedly saved my life over far more than I cared to admit. The voice that guided me through the loops of darkness and the cruelty of karma. An unbalanced devil on my shoulder, as it were.
She must have heard me, because the second that thought had sprung to life, the loud sound of a glass shattering rang out. The sound had nearly made me jump out of my skin, wherever it came from within the halls. Maids swarmed down the hall quickly to the noise as I tuned away to continue my stride to the library.
It wasn't long before I reached the arch of the doors where the stories await. The library was simply my favorite place in all of the palace, the place where all of the deepest depths of my curiousities can be fulfilled, a place where I can relax and indulge in the works of the fascinating worlds and beings around me, where my morals and faiths can be challenged and bended from just mere sentences and vague ideas from the authors. The scent of old leather and worn paper fills the air around me as I walk along the aisles of books, deciding what to read today.
Most of these books, I had come to read over my time in this palace. More often than not, I recognize a tale I've already read. Even harder to come across any new, noteworthy ones. Eventually, I came across a title written in a language from Midgard, a fictional book that seems to be quite a name for itself back in it's home. I slid the book from it's slot, flipping the novel around to read the synopsis of the bound pages.
With a nod and a quiet hum of approval, I hold the book to my chest as I walk towards a table in the corner of the library, getting comfy in the chair as I opened the book. For the next few hours, I had my nose in the pages of the book and flying through the pages as if it was just measly poems. It was a beautiful story of two lovers, living simple lives with white-picket fences. A heartwarming story throughout most, but began turning into a chilling, harsh reality. A story where violence overtakes love and robs you of the 'happily ever after' that everyone thinks that they have and deserve.
I wasn't quite sure how long it had been when I came back to my senses, taking myself out of the story and back to my true reality. It was beginning to get dark over the skies of Asgard, which meant I would have to end this fictional journey for now and ready myself for the dinner that the Royal Family had been discussing all week. A formal event where the Allfather himself seemed to have some important news to be sharing with the family and the highest regarded staff. Including me.
I close the book after bending the corner of the page to mark my spot, carrying the book down by my side as I made my way back to my quarters within the palace. Before long, I was standing in my closet, trying to pick a dress for the evening, feeling like that would be the right call for the event.
Admittedly, it took me a little while to pick out a gown for the dinner. However, I eventually decided on a black, elegant gown with a leather corset to bind it all together. With haste, I slipped on the dress before exiting the closet, tidying up the little makeup I had on and fixed a few stray hairs that audaciously popped out of the elegant Asgardian braid.
"He is here." Lady Karma whispered.
I froze for a moment, confused by the warning. "Who is here?" I questioned lowly to myself, looking towards the door when I finally heard the approaching footsteps. My shoulders eased, recognizing who the steps belonged to. "Come on in!" I shouted, turning back to the mirror to finish up the last touches.
Seconds later, the doorknob clicked across the room, opening wide to reveal none other than the blond god himself, Thor. He was cleaned up rather nicely for this event, even had his hair freshly cut and styled. He only stepped in a few steps, his goofy grin never leaving his face. "I have come to escort you myself to the party, Lady DΓ³mr."
"I wouldn't expect any less from you." I smiled, setting the makeup brush back down on the mirrored vanity, quickly stepping to Thor. He put out his arm, and I link my arm through his and we set off towards the Great Hall of the palace.
The walk took only a matter of minutes, though those minutes were filled with stories about their respectfully eventful days. Before long, they were entering the Grand Hall, walking the long mile to their majesties thrones. Frigga, ever the sweetheart, pulled her son and I into an embrace each, greeting us with nothing but love and respect. As for Odin, I bow my head before the Allfather, my hands lacing behind my back respectfully. "Good evening, Your Highnesses. I do hope you are well."
Odin, though still rather stoic, had a small smile break out on his lips. He may have had a cruel sense of rule and justice, but he had always been respectful to me. After all, he has granted me a roof over my head for many, many years now. "Evening, DΓ³mr. I trust you are well after today's trials?"
"Yes, Your Highness. Thank you," I replied, the smile never leaving my lips in the presence of my royalty.
"Ah, I see the lovebirds have arrived," A voice from behind me called. A voice I dreaded to hear. "How kind of you to grace us with your... nauseating presence." Loki sneered, the words sounding sour on his tongue.
Turning around to face the prince with a kill-you-with-kindness smile, I greet him with malicious sarcasm, "Loki, how exciting! I was hoping you'd be joining us tonight."
"I'm sure you were, little mortal," Loki hissed, imposing the height he has on me by leaning down just to look at me. He looked disgusted. Relentless. "It wouldn't be a party without me."
"Is that so?" I challenged, keeping my chin up to him defiantly. Silly fool, thought he could scare me. "I don't suppose you'll be doing card tricks tonight, will you?"
Smugly, Loki chuckled darkly before waving off her words as if it was no more that a clingy gnat in his vicinity. "Hardly, my dear. Card tricks are simply insulting to the tricks I could create. I suggest you keep your distance, lest you fall victim to a trick yourself."
"Keep your eye on him."
Oh, trust in me, Lady Karma. I was no easy fool, nor could he outwit me. I bow my head mocking, a smirk on my lips that certainly did not go unnoticed by the Trickster. Then, I step away from the family to assist the gossiping staff and chefs with setting the table and bringing food back and forth, listening quietly over their conversations.
'Clink!'
'Clink!'
"Attention, please!" Frigga announced, her voice booming across the walls of the hall, drawing every head her way. "Dinner will be starting momentarily, if everyone would take a seat."
As commanded, everyone had gathered around the long table, the King and Queen seated at the round ends of the table while the rest sat along the stretch of the table. While Thor had taken the seat to the left of Odin, Loki had seemed to want to sit in the back. Specifically, across from me. Why? Well, I wasn't sure. Probably to annoy me, to flaunt his title and rank to his favorite simpleton mortal to taunt.
Before the food and wine had been passed around for people to make their plates, an Aesir prayer was shared around the table. Silverware clattered against the porcelain dishes as many conversations happened amongst themselves. Loki, however, was rather quiet. Even his thoughts weren't as loud as everyone elses, and his eyes looked distant as he picked at his food, favoring the wine moreso than the dish itself.
"Didn't Mother ever tell you that it's rude to stare?" Loki's voice echoed in her head, though his lips made no movement. Always up to some sort of magic, wasn't he?
"Mistress Karma told me to keep my eye on you." I communicated, cutting my next bite and barely taking the time to glance up at him when doing so. "You seem... different, tonight."
"You don't say? How astute for you to have noticed." Loki responded, able to hear his sarcasm as vividly as if he was truly speaking. A tone that haunted me sometimes. "What else did she say about me, Darling? I'd bet she has quite the stories to tell."
Then, my eyes flicked up, giving him a glare through my lashes. "Don't piss her off. I'd hate to see what she has in store for you." I warned before continuing to my meal.
The rest of the time, he was silent. Seemed like he wouldn't be testing his luck tonight, preferably for the better. In fact, the only time my thoughts were interrupted when Odin rose at the end of the table, clinking his spoon against his wine glass. The room fell silent, eyes looking forward to the Allfather.
"I'm sure you all are wondering why I have gathered you all here on this night," Odin boomed as anticipation built on everyone's shoulders, what good or bad fate that was about to be bestowed upon them. "I assure, it is no less than important. I have... seemed to have fallen ill. I have reigned for... far too long, and it seems that now, it is all catching up to me."
"I will be vacating my throne within the coming year. I have decided it is time to pass my throne down to one of my dearest sons, and I have taken elaborate time to make a decision."
"My son, Thor, will be your new King in a rotation's time."
Applause errupted in the room. I look to Thor with a smile, over the moons for my friend. Then, I caught Loki's look. Well, seems like I found his problem. Something inside me had twinged at his hurt, dropping my head to conceal the smile I had prior.
Loki may have been a deceiving trickster, but that doesn't mean that I can't empathize with him. The man had been, more or less, neglected. Not having proper love from family is a betrayl like no other. One I could feel in my heart, even for the cold prince. Before long, he had gotten up, his plate unfinished, as he made his quiet exit.
Summary:Β The two princes of Asgard are going to need a disguise while sneaking into a castle. After jumping two guards, Loki is surprised to find one of them is a woman. A beautiful woman..
Note: Figured I'd throw in some fluff and humor amongst my dark shit Lol
Loki pulled up alongside Thor with the lightest of footsteps he could make. His back pressed to the wall as soon as he had crossed the hall, glancing around from which he came to make sure the coast was still clear. Good, or at least for now if Thor wasn't breathing so loud.
ββCome now brother, weβve traveled and adapted to far worse environments than this.ββ Loki tsked, a light tease while keeping his voice as low as possible.Β
Thor gave Loki a dry look over his shoulder before he resumed looking around the corner. ββThis is the first time we've been in freezing weather. Honestly, how are you faring without your furs?β he huffed, casting Loki another glance who remained perfectly comfortable in his usual Asgardian attire of leather and armor. Thor, on the other hand would shiver every ten seconds within his fur coat that did nothing to warm him over the already many layers of battle armor he had on.Β
ββSuppose I just find myself lucky, maybe if you run a little bit faster, youβd successfully warm yourself.ββ Loki said smugly, obviously enjoying Thorβs minor pain and annoyance while clutching one of his blades tighter in his hand.Β
Thor rolled his eyes and seemed to relax just a tad when he figured the area around them was officially clear within the echo filled halls of Alfheim. He turned and mirrored his brother by pressing his back against the wall and surveyed the hall where Loki had been watching. ββNo need to run anymore, weβve almost reached the treasury. From here on out, it will have to be with stealth- meaning youβd have to lead the way brother-ββ
ββStealthy only provides so much length in which we need to go.. The treasury will be most likely heavily guarded.. Weβll need a disguise..ββΒ
Thor raised a brow and waved his hand at his brother who seemed to keep watch in all their directions- Thor having completely stopped. ββCan't you magic us in? Change our appearance or.. Whatever you have been perfecting at?β
ββItβs not as easy as it looks, mother has hardly any time right now to help me practice. I wouldnt take the risk just yet or you mind find yourself being turned inside out instead.ββ Loki shook his head, hating to admit he was still learning his preferred skill set and having to verbally remind of what he could not do.Β
Yet.
Loki lightly grasped his brother by the shoulder and pulled him so that the two of them could switch, remaining as close as possible to the wall before he slowly peaked around the corner. ββAh ha, weβre just going to have to do it the old fashion way..ββ
Two guards were making their way down the halls and heading right for them. They were conversing with each other, low in voice and mildly distracted in what they assumed as a safe area. As soon as they turned the corner, the two princes of Asgard would jump them.Β
Thor practically strained and breathed down Lokiβs neck to get a view around the corner as well, scoffing at how simple the task would be and stood back in a ready position. ββYou take the little one then, weβll pull them first into the larder across from us. Should be enough room for a costume change.ββ Thor said a little too lightly, making Loki figure without having to ask that killing them wouldn't be an option.
Rolling his eyes then, Loki pressed his back flat against the wall with his blade ready near his chest, waiting for the two guards to turn their corner. Taking on the one smallest would be easiest, but his stubborn side wished to leave that one to Thor- unfortunately there was hardly any time to be stubborn and competitive.Β
As predicted and rehearsed numerous times in training, as soon as the guards turned the corner, in an instant the two princes were grasping them from behind, blades and hands covering at their mouths and throats before everyone shoved forward into the panterie.Β
Loki quickly kicked the door behind him, his grip loosened ever so slightly while grasping the smallest guard and let them turn themselves around to throw a punch towards his jawline. Catching their armor-covered fist, he twisted it and could have sworn he heard the faintest sound of a womanβs voice before he blew quickly into the helmetβs openings, catching the now unconscious guard before they could thud to the ground and make a sound.
Glancing over to Thor, Loki rolled his eyes again to see the brute had used unnecessary force where Thor finished shaking off the sting in his knuckles while hovering over the second unconscious guard.
ββI think youβre blows might have killed him after all brother.ββ he scolded, knowing the buffoon was known to over do it sometimes where the result was most likely the worse case scenario but at least the two guards were unconscious and no one had burst in and blown their cover.Β
ββI finished just as fast as you, let us not brag.ββ Thor tested, beginning to kneel down and look over the armor that most likely would fit him.Β
ββAnd here I was under the impression that you loved to brag.ββ Loki scoffed, kneeling down as well beside the guard he had just defeated and looked over the armor.Β
The armor was slightly a smaller fitting compared to Thorβs guardβs so heβd have to use a minor spell to change his body shape to fit. Glancing over, he saw Thor already beginning to strip the guardβs armor so he figured heβd begin as well. It wasn't as complicated as Asgardβs attire but theyβd have to be quick so they can resume where they left off.Β
Being as careful as possible, Loki began unhooking the shoulder buckles, furrowing his brows in concentration before he began lifting off the breast plates. The next sight had him nearly jump back and fall onto his rump with widened eyes.Β
ββWhat in the nine-ββ
ββShhββ Thor hissed, glaring over at his brother before his hands paused and his eyes widened as well, following his brotherβs gaze. ββWell.. You could always adjust into it..ββ he said slowly, half distracted with what's before them.
A woman lay before Loki, her breast plates having been removed and obviously was showing off her true form. She was wrapped with silk and fabric to prevent any damage the armor might give to her fair skin. She was pale, breathing softly with a few scares from battle showing up here and there with what little skin she showed off under her protection.Β
ββ..I hardly knew Alfheim allowed women to fight.. Unless of course this one so happened to hid-ββ
ββIt doesn't matter brother, we need to focus- time is of the essence and Heimdal wonβt wait forever.ββ Thor shook his head, recovering from the information that Loki had in fact unveiled and woman and went back to striping his- for sure- male guard.
Loki hesitated, feeling a little terrible for possibly hurting her in any sort of way while pulling her in here.. But nothing but a little magic couldn't heal..Β Β
He raised a hesitant hand to her chest- one might think he was about to take advantage but his eyes were closed and he only hovered about an inch away from her form.
ββWhat are you doing??β Thor hissed, already beginning to take off his own armor now that the guard was stripped.Β
ββSh.ββ Loki said without opening his eyes, brows furrowed in forced concentration while Thor frowned at the scene.
ββSheβs fine- you need to hurry..ββ Thor warned, clearly annoyed with the idea that he would have to wait longer while Loki decided to play βdoctorβ.
ββShe could be hurt-ββ
ββWeβll be hurt if we waste any more time- let me help,ββ Thor offered, taking a step closer to the two of them before Lokiβs eyes shot open and he raised a hand towards him defensively.
ββFine- I'll get ready.ββ Loki snapped, stopping his brother in his tracks and the two had a moment to stare at each other before Thor backed down first.
ββFine.ββ he mumbled and turned his back on him to continue getting ready.
Lokiβs eyes slowly moved back to the unconscious woman, hesitating for just a moment before his hands traveled down to undo the buckles at her hips. It wasn't hard, it was just tedious undoing all of the armor and the more he worked, the more he revealed.
His fingertips would brush up against her skin and he could have sworn he could hear her breathing hitch before sheβd resume her sleeping form. Once the top layers were removed, Loki could see she was in something that resembled undergarments but also fabric that hugged tightly around her body to act as under armor. Just enough to show off her curves and leave much to the imagination, Loki couldn't help but hesitate now and again while his eyes lingered here and there- pausing especially at her pillowed breasts and blush dusted cheeks.Β
ββDo you need-ββ
ββNo, I'm almost done.ββ Loki cut Thor off, glancing up at the prince who was fiddling with the armor buckles and pretended to know exactly how to put them on.Β
Lokiβs hand slowly moved under the womanβs head, cradling it and feeling exactly how soft her hair was. Elves were especially known for their delicate features and her locks felt like fine silk that could practically run through his fingers alone. Making sure her head was steady, he lifted her just enough to slide the rest of the armor out from under her before she was completely left exposed before them.
ββNot bad for an Elf.ββ Thor noted, nodding a little appreciative at the woman before them until Loki narrowed his eyes and casually moved himself between them, getting started on taking off his own armor.Β
ββA woman is a woman.ββ he noted, knowing just because they were from different realms, didn't mean interests weren't there. The woman was stunning, fair and almost innocent looking. It was quite a surprise she was found within a guardβs armor.. Perhaps she was a rebel taking on a role she didn't belong to? Or perhaps Alfheimβs customs were indeed changed..
Loki couldn't take his eyes off her, not even as he skillfully managed to remove his armor and begin to place hers onto his form. With a sharp inhale and some concentration, his form began to change ever so slightly to take one a form of a smaller man, not so much of a womanβs but to be honest, it might have fit better. He just didn't need to hear it from Thor who most likely would make it the story of tonightβs banquet.Β
Finally the two princes stood in Alfheim armor and looked down at the two elves that lay before them amongst the pieces of their original attire. When Thor began to make his way back to the door, he glanced behind him to see Loki was still staring at the woman. Rolling his eyes, Thor motioned him over and began to open the door.
ββSheβll be fine, let us go.ββΒ
Loki exhaled a frustrated sigh and forced himself to step over the woman and pull his eyes away to draw near to his brother at the door. ββAlright.. After you.ββ he mumbled and cleared his throat, forcing himself to focus before Thor took the lead outside.
~
The two princes panted while making a full sprint down the halls. Their shoes slid against the fine tile, making them skid to a stop before they could make the next turn. They had gotten what they came for alright- not without somehow managing to get the entire attention of the royal guards- minus two.Β
ββFather is not going to enjoy this.ββ Loki groaned, keeping up with his brother who just ran about a step in front of him.
ββFather doesn't need to know.ββ Thor mumbled, not sounding entirely convinced while he panted and ignored the cramp under his ribs.
ββTrust me, father always finds out.ββ Loki shook his head and the two of them turned another corner, hearing the sounds of shouts and metal mildly fade behind them.
ββThen use that brain of yours to come up with some ideas, Hel- use some magic or something!β Thor huffed, already dreading going home to see what punishment lay out for them.
Lokiβs brows furrowed while he thought, knowing it was a long shot and had already convinced himself to do it anyway if the plan actually would have been successful. Taking the chance before he could back out of it, Loki suddenly made a turn, catching the attention of Thor who slightly slowed down his pace.
βββWhat are you-ββ
ββKeep going, I may have an idea..ββ Loki called, watching how Thor gave him an indifferent look before the two parted ways.
Quickly running down the hall, he knew he had to be fast with how close the approaching army was so he didn't hesitate to kick open the door of the room they had ditched their armor in and- by the grace- found the woman still unconscious yet stirring.
ββ..iβm sorry darling- but this might turn out to be beneficial for the both of us one day..ββ Loki said quietly, watching how her dainty hand lifted a little to press to her forehead and the point of her ears twitching.
Having no time for anything proper, Loki suddenly reached out and grasped her wrist, not even waiting for her possible reaction before he yanked her upwards and caught her with his shoulder. Whether she was fighting him, he couldn't tell- he ran fast out of the room and down the hall to catch up with Thor, bouncing her light frame over his shoulder at the same time.
ββWhat in the nine realms- what have you done??β Thor gawked, seeing the semi unconscious woman laying over Lokiβs shoulder while he ran with a strong arm around her legs to support her.
ββHostage brother, Alfheim is sure to ease up the possible start of a war if we offer to release one of their own..ββ Loki panted out, the two of them heading towards the open doors while the sound of the crowd got louder and much angrier behind them.Β
ββThat's what that brain of yours told you??β Thor scoffed, quickly dodging a spear that whizzed past his head out of nowhere.
ββDo you have any better ideas?β Loki challenged, looking over his shoulder for weapons that might be tossed at him. Then again, it might just be at Thor who had no precious body shield with him.Β
Thor pursed his lips and looked back in front of him, blinking quickly to adjust to the light while they exited the castle. ββFine- Heimdal!!β he called, dodging another spear that whizzed past his other side, making him side step and almost lose his footing.
Loki couldn't help but hide a smile, the womanβs scent being able to be caught at this obvious close contact. Her skin was so soft under his fingertips, he found himself unconsciously gripping her a little more while his heart pounded for now two reasons.Β
βSheβs beautiful..βΒ
The familiar bright colors began to surround them both before they could even stop running and just as they had disappeared, the faint sound of an Elf roared amongst the panicked crowd.
ββTHEYβRE MAKING OFF WITH THE PRINCESS!β

Darkness plagued the Vanaheim sky tonight. I could hardly see the next three steps ahead of me, only able to go off of the contrasting feels of splintering tree branches and the soft blades of grass to tell my way ahead. I didn't know where I was or where I was heading, but it had to be somewhere. Anywhere. Anywhere is better than here. Better than there.
There was no time to stop and cry, no time to rest to calm the heart in my chest before it busted out of it's cage and fall into the ground before me. I had to keep moving with little-to-no room for error. They could catch up me, if they hadn't already. I must have nearly been overdosing on adrenaline, I realized, because I could feel the blood smearing across the soles of my feet, tiny splinters inching closer and closer into my flesh with each passing step.
I don't know how long I've been running for, I don't know how far away that hellish barn was, but surely it was getting far enough... Not quite yet, though. I should have listened to everyone. Never should have explored this damned forest alone. Or at all. How stupid could I have been? Truly. I knew better than that, but still made the mistake anyways.
That's what this was. A fucking mistake. I used to be normal. I used to be a human. But now I'm a freak. A cast-away. A forgotten girl, lost in the vines of the dangerous forest for the rest of eternity. I should've died. I wish I was dead. But no, it didn't happen that way. Wouldn't you know it, right? Life is a fickle mistress, and Lady Karma is a bitch. I know that now, and I won't ever forget it again.
I'll forever be haunted by the memory of my tormentors, haunted by the things I had to do just to get away. The things I had to endure just to see the light of tomorrow day after day. Fear told me they were right behind me, or just right around the next tree and I just didn't know it. Then, I stilled, startled by a sudden noise that sounded too far away to have come from me.
Crack.
Snap.
"RUN." She demanded.
Before I even realize the decision I've made, my feet started running with a mind of their own. Gone was the pain. Gone was the sticky feeling of my own blood and dirt mixing together on the ground. I was running for my life.
Then, as if things could not get possibly any worse, I felt my foot get penetrated by a branch that must have been sticking up just right. I scream, agony boiling in my blood as the adrenaline seemed to have vanished. "Fuck!" I cried out, feeling the slickness of warm tears trickling down my cheeks. This was it. It had to be. "Just kill me already!" I pleaded to anyone. Anything. I just wanted someone to listen to me. To hear me.
To save me.
As if by the grace of the Heavens themself, I saw a light far off into the distance ahead of me. For a moment, I don't believe my own eyes. I thought that maybe the paranoia had finally taken over fully to comfort me as if some sick, anchoring shadow over my shoulder. Or maybe it was my takers finally coming to end it all. Maybe this was the light at the end of the tunnel.
It grew closer and closer, the sound of the being's footsteps coming closer and closer. The air around me felt heavy, but my tear-swelled eyes never left that light as the shadows started to form a person. A woman, it seemed. She almost looked like an angel, adorned in a white fabrics and gold jewelry and accessories.
"Trust her."
"What happened to you, My Child?" The woman asked, kneeling down to, what I can only assume is, to assess my injuries and welts across me.
"I was taken... injected with... something," I trailed off, unable to fully tell the tale of what happened to me. Things I wasn't even entirely sure if it was real or not. The woman, ever so carefully, placed her hand on my shoulder and we seemed to... Well, teleport.
Now, I was in a lavish medical ward on a plush bed. Nurses began to circle me and usher me medical assistance. Then, I fell asleep.
...
The next time I woke up, my eyes felt seared by the sterile white lights above and the golden sunlight beaming through the window off to my right. For a moment, in the lingering fog of sleep, I jerked up in panic, unsure where I was until my mind cleared.
The woman. Was she even real?
"Yes, My Dear. I am very much so real," A voice rang out, causing me to snap my head towards the noise. As if it was some sort of cue, there she was. The angel. "How do you fair this morning? Our nurses gave you the utmost attention and a dose of one of Vanaheim's strongest elixirs."
A question that I wasn't sure I had an answer to. I took a moment to look over my body, and yet... I couldn't find a single cut or bruise on me. Bewildered, I look back to the woman. "I... Thank you-" I stammered, realizing I never caught the lady's name admist all the chaos.
"Frigga," She finished with a humble smile, taking a step closer and placing a soft, gentle hand on my shoulder before continuing, "No need to thank me, My Child. I heard a soul in need. Allow me to tell you, you have been blessed with a gift from the Norns. A virtue of justice, the All-Seeing Eye of Lady Karma herself. Recover from this fall and come back even stronger."
Her words left me utterly speechless. Frigga, one of the highest of royalty in all of Vanaheim, had saved... me? After everything, after being taken and was as useless as a scientist's lab rat for weeks, months - who knows how long. I almost didn't believe this was real, and Lady Frigga must have noticed the distant thoughts.
"Just rest now, Y/N. Trust in me, I will ensure your safety. You may reside with me in Asgard, as long as you please." Frigga assured, offering the kindest smile I had ever seen, it made her look more beautiful than any guardian angel across the Nine Realms. Then, as quickly as she came, she had bid her farewells and left me once again all on my lonesome.
After slipping in and out of sleep for awhile after the thoughts of the last night became too much to bear in the moment, like voices were screaming for release in my mind. When I awake again, it was later in the evening where the sun was setting an casting a beautiful array of colors across the sky as it slipped into the darkness. I rolled over to my side and my eyes landed on the nightstand next to the lavish bed. On the ebony surface was a black spider with a blue, pearl-like glaze across it's body. He didn't move, perhaps playing the frozen game to not go noticed.
Slowly, I reach out with my palm up to the spider, urging it to crawl onto the surface of my hand. He was a pretty little thing, a spider that I didn't quite recognize - perhaps an exotic pet of sorts. Whatever the case, the magnificent beast seemed to accept the offer and crawled onto the center of my palm. I lifted it up, analyzing the beauty that seemed so trusting as he ran back and forth across the back of my hand to the front. Before long, however, the spider crawled onto the bed and scurried away to the shadows of the corner of the room.

So first, do you have any rules or limits on what you can or won't write about? Also, do you only write for the fandoms on your post or can you do others as long as you're familiar with them? And do you have any predictions for the type of reader or is it free game?
im willing to go pretty heavy, but not too too gorey if that makes sense? i wouldn't push further than non-con. im a pretty big nerd that watches a lot of tv, so as long as i know the character i will write it. im willing to write characters i dont know with some research but i cant promise perfection. as for the reader, its whatever you want!
