✨ Official Announcement ✨
As of 11–11–25, The Eidolon Series has officially stepped out of the realm of parody and fully into its own creative identity!
Book One was born from my love of stories like Danny Phantom, Supernatural, The Dresden Files, and so many others—but with Book Two, the series has grown far beyond those original inspirations. With the expanded bones of Embassarys, Appointees, vampires, Slaugh, Terivingi, and all the wild lore that unfolds from there, their world has become unmistakably its own beast.
Because of that evolution, I’m excited to announce that all copyright pages have now been updated to reflect The Eidolon Series as an original work.
Thank you to everyone who’s followed this journey from parody roots to full-fledged universe. I can’t wait to show you what’s coming next! And for those who have one of the original 300 copies of Death Ballots with the Parody warning page or one of the initial run with its typos and formatting issues, cherish them❤️
At one point, I was honestly terrified to call this series what it really was. I thought I’d be betraying my OG fan base. With such similar tropes in Book One, I ended up putting up parody warnings as a precaution for readers from the fandoms—at least until Book Two could be formatted and released.
My work is dark and gritty- A complete shell shock from the tv shows that inspired it and that can trigger disgust or loathing from anyone attached to such intellectual properties.
It was a protection for one of the few good things in my life…
And the truth is:
This is a series for adults.
For people who have lost loved ones.
For people who’ve been betrayed.
For death and for life.
Book Two took longer than I expected because Damian is a huge reflection of who I am—just like Romulus, and very soon, Francis. Trauma and heartache sit in every fiber of ink and every proud sheet of paper.
So if you love stories about choosing what’s right despite *everything* in the world fighting against you—
If you love seeing victims push past impossible odds and move forward with their lives—
Then Eidolon is for you.
Yes, there are tropes in Book One that repeat from multiple paranormal shows. That was unavoidable with the ghostbuster, Beetlejuice-adjacent world I built.
The characters share a faint name here, a similar color there—
But that’s it.
Because people are more than what they look like.
Mine’s a demon hunter with a charming personality.
*wink wink*
So thanks for bearing with me during this writing slog. I’ve been working through a bunch of emotional distress and baggage this last year. Some of it perverse or traumatizing enough to have me reserved and- Sad.
I think I was- am sad.
But that’s changing. I’ve done amazing things this year. I got my mom out of a relationship based on emotional abuse…I got me out of that relationship-
I learned to drive.
I traveled the state and met wonderful people who were excited to read and buy my books.
I was able to work the first part of this year at my local grocery store despite my autoimmune disease and handling all the legal documents and paperwork for a divorce my mother never could have afforded a lawyer for.
And I am thankful. To all of you who have followed my journey. When I’ve had to go to the hospital, when my teeth break apart and need fixed- Every cent has helped us.
Thank you and I’m looking forward to Eidolon’s growth the next few years.
Reblog if you're grateful for your internet friends
please please please please reblog if you’re a writer and have at some point felt like your writing is getting worse. I need to know if I’m the only one who’s struggling with these thoughts
this is a common phenomenon. the better you get, the more you recognize flaws. the good thing is you can strive to get better. but the bad thing is that you see nothing but flaws. you are actually getting better, but your editing/critical brain is getting tuned up and can see more things to improve. someone post the graph, I can't find it
nvm I found it myself:
"art" can mean any creative endeavor and it definitely applies to writing.
Me two books in and seven more in various stages. RIP
Well, book two is finished; I'm just going through it to ensure there are no typos before I send it to betas. :)
every day I see things in the Danny phantom tag that are so far removed from the original source material you people are just doing original writing now about a guy named Danny
The funniest part about this is some of us became self-aware of how removed from the source our stuff was and then went back and purposefully omitted anything DP-exclusive to keep a line between source, fan fiction, and then completely off the wall 'would never be in DP' content writing more defined for new and old audiences alike.
I created an original book series inspired by the show.
I know what the show was about, and I know every obscure fact in its dialogue, plot, and pacing...
And what did I do? I made a paranormal urban fantasy series for adults that follows none of those guidelines but occasionally hints at some similarities with its dark twists or an original 'adult' take on a concept.
Like' there are SOOOOO many good bones in DP that were never even touched again in the kid's show and couldn't be in the context of it being a kids' show.
For me?
I WANTED LORE. I wanted a complex interwoven narrative that touched on different cultures and their concepts of 'Death'. I wanted subplots- And I wanted a John Constantine-stylized billionaire on his last limb trying to train a bunch of novice demon hunters. GIVE ME GOOSEBUMPS FOR ADULTS. GIVE ME CRAZY DP with SUPERNATURAL MIXED IN.
I blended TWO decades of timelines into a storyline with mentions of a past, a present, and a future. In this series, I've created monsters that are beyond the scope of anything you would ever show a child. The funniest part was setting up the first book with all these veiled references to the OG show, some token names, and a few 'mainstay' events to keep the bones enforced before I go in the exact opposite direction with it. This series has characters with entire family trees and backstories ranging from their great-great-grandparents.
I BUILT AN ENTIRE CITY, and each building has a unique history!
That’s 9,000 apartments, 21,000 homes, 23 skyscrapers, 15 gas stations, 30 hotels, 8 grocery stores, 150 restaurants, 89 stores, a waterpark, a pier, a lake, and a bunch of pine trees. ( I don't go in-depth beyond main-stay buildings, but that planning and history are there.)
What about my cast?
Rune is a witch.
Malcolm is a level-headed planner who clashes with Rune's brashness.
Daniel is a teen with no clue how his world works and is just struggling to get by and keep the souls slipping through his parents' portal from getting gooped.
The Strouds? JOHN IS SMART. To smart for his own good. Madison, or rather 'Maddie', is well-meaning but a bit too excitable in her desire to get revenge on the dearly departed for endangering her kids. She has a doctorate and works with her husband to create prosthetics. (There are no wacky or cartoonish inventions between them.)
Damian (the main protagonist) is a forty-something billionaire who has lost everything in the span of three years: his wife, his daughter, and his chance at 'peacefully' teaching the next line of embassarys. But now he's getting a second chance, and with that comes a lot of give and take.
Orion? A demon hunter.
Romulus? The adopted son of Damian and a former slave of Slaugh. He was used as a power source for hundreds of years.
Enten? He goes by the Sandman and is the trapped appointee of the last era. His prison? The Fabled Tower of Babel, where no one soul dares to dwell.
Aragon? A recently escaped captive of the self-proclaimed 'Queen' Dorathea, who was cast to his prison because of a planted magical contract and a far too curious witch. He's been lied to regarding his 'death' and kept as a food source for a budding demon seeking sovereignty over the Kingdom of Almor.
Jonah? A Texas Ranger in charge of the decimated Hold left behind at Loki's passing-
I could spend all day describing each one, but I know they're all modeled after the opposite personalities and motives showcased in the show.
AND THEY'RE HISTORICALLY ACCURATE! CLOTHES, BELIEFS, RELIGIONS-
Here is a snippet/piece from book two (currently in editing):
The roll of tar and nicotine jammed between my lips was rot and sulfur~ a necrotic concoction similar to the rotted blood and ectoplasm that had pumped through the semblant flesh of demons for eons.
It had no business in my mouth.
I puffed out another cloud of gray toxic smoke. It twisted and hooked into the air in spiraled puffs, creating nonsensical shakes like TV static.
A set of dark, amused eyes flashed to the forefront of my mind. The green swirled away with the fading smoke.
I wanted to gag.
The cigarette was pulled out of my mouth so I could wedge the lit end against my palm to smother it. The skin puckered and hissed before the leftover cigarette nub was tossed over my shoulder to hit a nearby bar stool.
Damian Quinn Masters didn’t smoke.
Quinn Petrov, on the other hand? He smoked like a field set ablaze with turpentine.
The smoke was still curling away from my singed palm. The edges fanned and bled like watercolor in the damp, clotted air.
My lips stung where the paper had brushed them—lips that couldn’t quite form a malleable excuse or apology for the waitress looming behind the counter.
Of any appendage for my body to harbor, my lips landed in me in more trouble than anything else, and that was saying quite a bit, given I had Excalibur stored in my basement.
If I had any common sense, I would have been praying for some peace and quiet devoid of the paranormal.
Unfortunately, my lips weren’t meant for prayers. Comforts, apologies- even lies but never prayers.
Not that it’s ever mattered. Prayers are never answered amidst desperation.
You can’t have what was never claimed as yours. It’s a cardinal rule of the Nether. Any magic the world grants can only be fashioned by the belief that it is already possible.
That’s a universal constant.
And as an embassary, I’ll believe in just about anything if I can see it.
Disgruntled lawn-lounging gnomes with Oreo addictions?
Check.
Bisexual DND gods?
Double check...
Hordes of flesh-eating demons?
You bet your glow-devoid ass, I have. It’s practically in my job description.
What about Ghostly Texas Rangers?
I have one on speed dial underneath the mech piloting demon hunter at the top of my contact list.
Belief was never the issue- no, it was the desperation in the equation.
My fingers plucked another pitted red birthday candle from the depths of my coat.
Rachel eyed me from behind the counter, one hand poised against the fryer and another lingering near one of the spatulas she used when chasing out any of the local spooks who became too rowdy on the premises.. “...Quinn? When I said you could come to me for anything, I’m pretty sure this isn’t what I had in mind.”
To be fair, if a suicidal vagrant with a pension for chocolate chip pancakes waltzed into my restaurant with thirty-six red candles and a Bic lighter? I, too, would be rethinking my life choices.
The waxed spires cast an artificial cherry glow over the vinyl chairs and tables I had stacked to partition the door and windows from the dockyard outside. The wicks sparked, sputtering out several tiny fireworks.
Shrugging, I set down the last candle and stood to stretch. Wavy ebony hair, devoid of glow and mortal, fell against my face to partially obscure the muddy brown eyes a shift ‘between’ forms had granted me.
When in doubt, the anonymity of a form that wasn’t a billionaire or a burial-shroud-clothed police force for the dead was a must.
Rachel cleared her throat. “Quinn-“
I glanced down at her. “Nothing bad will become of the diner. Scout’s honor.”
Her bloodshot hazel eyes narrowed. “Okay, but I have to ask. What are all these candles for?”
“I’m summoning an old acquaintance for information regarding a couple of stiffs languishing in Amityville’s mortuary.” I rolled up my sleeves and drew a small vial from my jeans.
The liquid within sloshed slowly and without a care for gravity. Flecks of luminous red floated up in pearled droplets, suspending themselves for a few moments before hovering back down with a dull ‘thwip’. The drops sparked as they reconnected.
“What is that?”
“It’s blood. A vampire’s, to be precise.”
(END OF FRAGMENT FROM INFINITE REALMS)
Each book has 18+ action and storylines, is lovingly crafted to look like a VHS tape, and has realistic black-and-white illustrations inside!
One such illustration from book two-
That said, if anyone wants to check out the first book, it's on Amazon! Heads up, it's considered a DARK ADULT PARODY. Readers, you have been warned~
A DANNY PHANTOM INSPIRED PARODY JUST HIT AMAZON!
I've been working on the storyline for this series for the last six years and am SUPER excited to announce that it's official on Kindle, KU, and paperback!
BLURB:
Does the reaper have your vote?
Damian Quinn Masters is many things:
A distinguished businessman, a medical genius, a renowned bioenergetics theorist, and a rather publicized bachelor.
But he has a few skeletons in the closet, perhaps quite literally, given he's a paranormal police force for the realm of the dead.
With the notorious GHUL agency out for blood and a vigilante teenager with no sense of consequence on the prowl? He may be looking at going from 'half-dead' to fully dead within the month…
If the politics in the paranormal-plagued town of Amityville, Colorado, don't kill him first.

A friendly reminder!
Death Ballots is an adult dark parody of Danny Phantom and Supernatural! It has similar themes, nods to the shows, and a few token pieces of your favorite characters, but it is NOT them.
So, for all you Phan’s out there, please be kind. It has the familiar framework of "Danny Phantom" but subverts its themes to explore deeper, more complex ideas about death, life, and morality. It’s a transformative piece that takes a lighthearted concept about heroics and flips into a nuanced narrative that tackles adult themes like loss, consequences of choice, and sacrifice.
A quick recap:
What makes the Eidolon Complex a parody?
1. While the original series is playful, this series version employs a darker, more serious tone that highlights the gravity of existence and the consequences of our choices.
2. Characters are given intricate backstories and moral dilemmas that reflect real-life struggles, contrasting with the more simplistic portrayals in the original show.
3. with themes of mortality, identity, and the afterlife, that reflect and invite the audience to consider deeper questions about existence.
4. Satire that highlights the absurdities of the original's (child perspectived) premise by placing characters in situations that reveal the illogical aspects of their lives, making the audience reconsider the conventions of the genre.
5. Realistic consequences for actions and relationships adds weight to the story, making the supernatural elements resonate on a more relatable level.
6. NO ONE RETAINS THEIR LOOKS OR FULL NAMES FROM THE SHOW. These names are retained for parody reasons. It's satire. You see the name and are forced to compare their actions if you know the source material. That being said, many characters in the source material will not have parody representation.
Examples of characters in this series:
Damian Quinn Masters
Daniel Stroud
Valerie Attwell
Romulus Masters
Edmond Pilley/Orion
Rune Abrams
AND MANY MORE!
Attire is sourced to be historically accurate and all regions of ‘the Nether’ in the book are modeled after real belief systems and faiths from around the world.
All of this is done to honor the insp. materiel. My marketing may reference ‘Danny Phantom’ when calling upon what it parodies but that show and its work belongs to its creators. NEVER another writer.
7. Book one is written so that anyone can start the story. There is lore. There are descriptions of branches of light ‘ripping’ away human form and lungs regrowing. If a situation or concept is hinted at in book one, it will not follow the guidelines of the source material, the plot structure, or the lore set in the original inspiration material.
Examples:
Show: Aragon from a nondescript medieval kingdom in the Zone sends his meek and oppressed sister to find him a human bride via a beauty pageant.
The Eidolon Complex: Rebellious witch, Rune Abrams, decides to show off her skills to one exhausted human artifact (Revenant/Daniel Stroud) but gets into more than she bargained for when her novice hands bind her to a supposedly long dead Prince in the French region of the Nether (sanctioned as Almor. Gaulish French language. Tied history to Brasil as the forgers of a great demon blade and its two brothers. Severed during the Dark Ages into the Nether). Faced with the very real threat of ‘til death do us part’, the Prince who wishes to annul the union is prevented from doing so by a ‘orchestrated’ misunderstanding that places his sibling on the throne and him in a dungeon so she can ‘keep’ a rather grisly secret from their people. (There are no mentions of a pageant as this is parody.)
Show: Clockwork, a being who controls time exclusively and sees over the flow of it with the observants. He’s often seen aging casually and supervises the flow of time for the entire world in multiple episodes and ‘timelines’.
The Eidolon Complex Series: Enten, the first appointee of the previous embassary Nikkal, was fractured by the sealing of Slaugh in a cursed stone shell within the Red Halls of Brasil. His core/essence is spliced between due to the energy use and previous damage, shattering his form and putting his ghostly appearance into a constant pain riddled state of flux. Ancient Sumerian, he has NO affinity for clocks though his tower has gained some semblance of gearwork due to its position in the timeless region of the Nether. He’s been trapped, alone and unknowingly ‘alive’ this entire time. (There was a typo about clocks from my initial draft that tried making its way into a chapter of Death Ballots, but I've since killed that singular word after a confused browse through a few nights ago. Lol. Nearly eight books were drafted; of course, it's the first one that had that oops. Honestly, that's somewhat expected to be browsed over when you've written that much parody material.)
The limestone prison of the previous demon king still sits in silence, its fingers outreached towards the skull he once sheathed the demon blade in, resealed by his escaped pet Willhelm/Terivingi and the current embassary (Damian).
8. This book is written from MULTIPLE FIRST PERSON POVS.
If you still want to check out my book, please do! But keep in mind what it is and what it’s setting up.
(I'm trying to give everyone showing interest a fair warning on what the book truly is to avoid misunderstandings, unhappy readers, and people upset it's not a completely different UNRELATED BOOK or A DIRECT KNOCK OFF OF DP. )
Thank you for considering my dark parody. Please keep in mind that book two is going to be a lot more dynamic in terms of world lore, backstory, and a very dangerous alliance between a self-proclaimed queen, a demon, and a hungry collector who is more than happy to mislead a worried teenager.
One of those hilarious little things about finally publishing so many books is the SUPER good feedback from strangers. They love it! They want a book two! 📚✨
But then there’s the blaring flipside when you release that ‘book’ into the world. Cue the nights filled with self-doubt and the frantic hunt for typos—every. single. one. 😅 With nearly 200,000 words per book, it’s a heavy order. Even J.K. Rowling had typos. *I’m looking at you, Snap.*🐍
And then there’s that occasional (1 STAR) review that stumbles in from a post or ad, picking it apart like a rotten carcass when the book barely has time to find its tribe.
For the first few months, despite our best intentions, AUTHORS, do look at the reviews. And when a review targets the author’s choice of 'subject' or 'capabilities,' it hurts a tad more.
I’m getting iron skin, slowly but surely, like some fantastically curled dragon upon its weathered perch. But sometimes... I do wonder.
I wonder how I project my work, the scope in which I tell a story, and all the little nit-picky things that go into it. Will someone notice that trope? Does anything in this work indeed copy something from another? How much can be twisted, ripped, and rethought in a new and unusual way?
They burrow like worms.
When it was said that the pen is mightier than the sword, I suppose it was meant to go twofold. A bitter word can kill one’s voice, or a pen can drown out another in ink.
Even with the bad, I’m positive my writing is good. Every word, even if I occasionally cater to the more 'flowery' prose standards.
I'm a writer. I write stories of grief, stories of hope... and tragedy.
That’s what I know.
If I write well enough for someone to recognize the 'inspiration' of my story from the roots without them chancing to look up at the branches, then that’s okay, too. Others will swing from lofty vines and frolic under flowers.
A few may fall from the tree or grow bitter, but that’s all in good faith.
So, dear readers, I invite you to know the roots, surely, but also chance the sky. Nothing is ever entirely obscured in the dirt.
And be wary of the warnings you are given. If a plant's fruits are championed as bitter, do not expect sweet, and most certainly don't claim the fruits as something they are not.🌱✨
From now on, some of my trees will have a note embedded in the wood to remind everyone what my fruits are to all who give their time to explore such expansive fields.
Do not expect sweet limes if I grow bitter peaches, for you will surely choke on a stone.
If pages do not suit you, leave them.
Think before you post.
Act with kindness-
And perhaps, most importantly?
If you are a writer, never cease to write. If you are a reader, never cease to read.
The world is bitter enough without us poisoning the trees.
I will post snippets of my upcoming books over the next few days, but for now, I will return to my grove.
Happy reading <3
-B.N.BEARAIN
Take it from Revenant, some days, you just need to scream into a pillow.
One of those fun but weird parody tidbits I tease but don't fully elaborate on until book two is 'Fang,' a pomeranian parody of 'Cujo'.
Val does hate this dog. It's hard to like any spectral beast when it's personality is:
Thankfully, the only creature it's 'killed' is a squirrel...
( THIS IS A NOTE FROM MY DEVELOPMENT FILES FOR THE EIDOLON SERIES, A DARK PARODY OF DANNY PHANTOM AND SUPERNATURAL. 18+. It's COPYRIGHTED and part of an actual book series that is currently being edited. IT IS NOT SET IN THE DP UNIVERSE BUT INSTEAD A MIX OF 80's horror, supernatural, and DC with cheeky callbacks to the series in the first book before the actual 'saga' kicks off. Some fragments of names were kept, but everything is warped and parodied to be something 'not' DP. It operates on historical events and mythos from around the world.)
THE FIRST BOOK IS ALREADY OUT!
(I recently had to change a minor typo, and upon spotting it, I found one more regarding Ail's pointed ears, a plot point that will happen when she 'breaks' in a later novel. You can download it immediately if you don't mind those two issues. The paperback is updating and should be up within 72 hours.)
So, if you want:
-ADULT HUMOR
-A suicidal billionaire demon hunter who's juggling the consequences of pissing off EVERYONE he knows. (His marriage is in shambles, and his wife isn't even aware they were married. His youngest kid is dead. He's not a happy guy, but he's undoubtedly sarcastic.)
-An ancient knight from the lost city of Brasil ( the land of the fae in Irish lore), who lost his memory last May, is rediscovering his past as an appointee and adopted son to the previously mentioned flamboyant billionaire.
-A young demon hunter in training who 'absorbed' her spectrally imbued armor by accident upon one too many close calls with dying. She's peaceable and doesn't hold a grudge long after being tutored by her spooky teacher on 'what' to hunt. AKA, demons. She's level-headed, collected, and quick to find a non-violent solution. She 'puts up' with 'Revenant' (Daniel Stroud) but finds him full of himself.
A cross-dressing Scottish dragon who once guarded the Tomb Tower, discovering the world and herself and gaining the courage to show 'who' she really is under all the furs and bravado.
A dragonic prince who's been trapped in a dungeon for over a year so his demonic twin could feed upon him to steal his abilities.
(And yes, the Scots dragon and the prince are a thing.)
A ghost-hunting inventor who is clever and picks up on all the details around him a bit too well.
A teenage vigilante who's having a mid-life crisis early from being shot by his own parents, subjected to BS from various adults, and now realizing that his 'view' may be a bit skewed. Tie in the fact he is suffering from a repressed memory that's cobbled together all sorts of demented poltergeists, and you have a recipe for disaster.
-A scythe-wielding ancient Sumerian being trapped in a tower alone for an eternity who HATES clocks with a burning passion.
-DEMONS, GORE, AND DRAMA
THEN MY DARK PARODY MAY BE FOR YOU!
WARNING, A PARODY IMPLIES THAT REFERENCES WILL BE MADE TO THE SOURCE MATERIAL IT WAS INSPIRED BY. CHARACTERS AND SITUATIONS ARE PARODIED BASED ON THEIR PERSONALITIES, APPEARANCES, BACKSTORIES, AND ASSOCIATED LORE TO CREATE A DARKER AND MORE COMPLEX NARRATIVE.
Examples.
John Stroud VS Jack Fenton
John Stroud is characterized by his intelligence and quick wit, which allow him to navigate complex situations effectively. He's willing to stop ghost-hunting for the greater good and understands what needs to be done to mend relationships, particularly with Damian Quinn Masters. Unfortunately, he loathes 'Strange' and suspects him of being something harmful to Amityville after the ghost orchestrated a 'scare' tactic three years prior to 'boot them' off Rupert Magnus's estate. (Shaking one would-be ghost hunter overhead to dislodge her weapons.) He exhibits empathy and understanding as he prioritizes personal connections over his own pursuits....granted, he may create some issues for himself and others within the first book from stubborn pride. He's physically fit and imposing. All of the prosthetics created in the clinic are by his design.
Jack Fenton is meanwhile- Well, just Jack. He's dense, not very complex, and super over-enthusiastic like a golden retriever but built like a literal block.
Damian Quinn Masters VS Vlad Masters.
Damian Quinn Masters embodies the tragic hero archetype. He's let Daniel perceive him as a villain because of his resignation and impending mortality. Rather than actively pursuing power (CAUSE EW SOURCE MATERIAL), Damian gives up on the game entirely. Unfortunately, his illness is only getting worse, heightening the urgency of his quest to mend broken relationships and confront the looming threats that seek to possess him. I modeled him after the exact OPPOSITE moral compass of Vlad Masters. We're talking about doing good until you're a walking corpse level of commitment. One such pitfall? He made a wish with a gen called Nasir, who warned him there would be consequences, and he still gladly did so for his wife's mental (and physical) wellbeing. Basically, ERASING himself from her memory.
While both characters are shaped by their pasts and their choices, Vlad’s villainy is more about external ambition and control, whereas Damian’s journey focuses on internal struggle, sacrifice, and the desire for redemption.
If these two were in a bar, Damian would kick Vlad's ass for crimes against humanity. In fact, I'm pretty sure Damian would consider Vlad Masters on the same tier as Leon Martinez ( the leader of a crime syndicate who just so happens to own the decommissioned group of mercenaries known as GHUL.).
HE LOATHES: FOOTBALL. FACIAL HAIR. Politicians and Hospitals.
He's brash, ballsy, and embodies John Constantine to a rather hilarious degree.
He doesn't get along with Maddie Stroud. To him, she's pigheaded, and she's lost any common sense upon obsessing over her, and her husbands ghost hunting hobbies. He has notably flirted with her during attempts at getting shot, but nothing much save for her rage resulted from that. On that note, he did jab Daniel about how he would be a better 'parent' than John on principle alone, and that's led to a HUGGGGGGEEEE misunderstanding when paired with his jabs about John's capabilities and Daniel's mother complaining about the apparent flirting.
Rune Abrams VS Sam Manson
Rune, for starters, is a witch. She's brash and doesn't take accountability for her actions or the results, often guilting Daniel into scenarios he's heavily uncomfortable with, or that put her at odds with Malcolm ( their soft-spoken and very level-headed accomplice). She dyes her hair with a bright stop sign red hue, knowing it makes Daniel uncomfortable. She talks about 'spell ingredients' and 'creates theories' based on incantations and 'checks' she can do on her surroundings. Her hands are covered in burns from spell use, and she wears gloves to cover them. She serves as a misdirection, and although she does try to keep a moral hierarchy in her beliefs, it's biased and quick to be written over by the newest piece of lore or occult news. In this sense, she stands against everything Sam Manson has represented in the OG show.
*POSSIBLE SPOILER* One example is when she entered an abandoned theater where a ravenous vampire was holding paranormal shows and stole his spell book, leading to Revenant trying to return it and ending up on the menu. The teen was erratic for weeks, suffered harvesting for spell ingredients, and was being sent to retrieve 'artifacts' for his hungry 'Ringmaster'.
Sam Manson, meanwhile, is Danny Fenton's best friend and love interest. She is fiercely loyal and often serves as his moral compass. Sam is passionate about environmental issues and social justice, showcasing her activist spirit. Her confidence and independence set her apart; she isn't afraid to challenge norms or stand up for her beliefs. Sam’s unique blend of strength, empathy, and individuality makes her essential to the show's dynamics and themes.
Enten VS Clockwork
Enten represents a more tragic relationship with time. Having sealed away the demon king Slaugh, which subsequently trapped him in the Tower of Babel, he feels lost and separated from reality and progress.
HE HATES CLOCKS AND HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM. One formed from belief hundreds of years ago on top of the tower where he cannot reach it, and it persists, ringing at irregular times to remind him of the passage of time despite the broken chairs and pieces of rock he tries shoving into the few exposed gears by the stairwell to break them.
Unlike Clockwork, who manages and manipulates timelines with purpose, Enten exists in a state of stagnation, feeling trapped in an endless present without the ability to change what has already occurred.
Bonus: DP's Clockwork operates from a place of authority and wisdom, whereas Enten’s guilt and isolation drive him to lie to Revenant on multiple occasions.
Then there's the fact that Enten is ALIVE and has slowly been consuming his life force to persist. He is slowly and very painfully starving to death but is kept alive by the Nether. He is stuck viewing copper scrying mirrors and pulling ghosts from the earth and back into the Nether so they don't fade to cycle, but he has never had anyone there to save him.
Clockwork is seen as an omniscient, all-knowing figure. He manipulates events and presents himself as a wise, 'sage-like' figure who knows everything but communicates in riddles, leaving others confused and frustrated while he snips or oversees various timelines.
Enten is the polar opposite of Clockwork's character and personality in all these ways. ( ADD IN THE HORRIFIC BODY GORE OF A 'MORE HUMAN' BODY SHIFTING FORMS EVERY FEW MINUTES AND YOU HAVE A RECIPE FOR A 'NOT KID FRIENDLY' DARK PARODY.)
Ernesto Perez vs Ernesto Montez
Both were the previous mayors of their respective cities, but Ernesto Perez is a cutthroat with a dyed comb-over and a grudge. With his dealings in 'illegal' ventures called into question, he isn't above 'getting rid' of the competition. He's cold, calculating, and primarily driven by self-interest, having sold off most of Amityville to GHUL and outside land investors during their economic downturn for a quick buck. He's technically gray-haired but 'fixes' his mustache with a mascara tube. He's a main character rather than a side character. A villain for Damian's 'Bond'- Granted, a dim-witted one being paid off by GHUL.
Ernesto Montez, meanwhile, is from the original DP show and is seen as a standard, law-abiding politician with some wants to preserve his place in office but not nearly to the extent of his parodied counterpart. He has no lines beyond the one episode (Public Enemies) and only appears as a background character in two episodes after that.
You can't make a kid's cartoon more kiddish when parodying, so everything is gory, dark, and realistic with ADULT humor and rationality.
Cool right?

HALLOWEEN IS APPROACHING!
So here's a horrific piece of Eidolon Series lore:
( PICTURED IS WILLHELM and TERIVINGI from The Eidolon Series during the Trial of the Sword.)
The possessed Knight of Brasil, upon finishing the execution of his nation at his King's bequest, was forced back into his Princess's chambers and ordered to remove her head.
And the demon Terivingi, who possessed the knight, committed one notion of cruelty to heart as he brought back the severed mass before his master like a pleased hound.
The demon King sighed irritably. "And now the issue of sealing-"
Terivingi chuckled, and when Slaugh questioned his herald's amusement regarding how they would seal their vessel away each Spring, Terivingi replied with a chilling smile,
"It would be unjust to deny him the pleasure of being on her mind."
And the demon King who had bartered for immortality at the death of his daughter, the slaughter of his nation, and the binding of the demon laughed.
"I see no better place. May her eyes never lay upon him again."
And so he laid sealed each spring, with few gaps between.
Soon lying stuck... Cast to the Tomb Tower by the appointees of old to be guarded by the Emerald Nathier, a dragon of Scot's descent.
And then....quite unexpectedly, a budding witch and her two friends chose to summon him from the Nether, inevitably casting the sheath and sword back into the Red Hall of Brasil before their limestone-encased King....
( THIS IS A NOTE FROM MY DEVELOPMENT FILES FOR THE EIDOLON SERIES, A DARK PARODY OF DANNY PHANTOM AND SUPERNATURAL. 18+. It's COPYRIGHTED (lol) and part of an actual book series that is currently being edited. It operates on historical events and mythos from around the world.) MORE POSTS COMING SOON <3
Writer thought of the day~
When given a choice between a happy, ordinary fluff chapter and horrific action/gore, I tend to gravitate towards the latter.
My apologies.
Sincerely,
An Author
The funny thing about being a writer is there are ALWAYS typos that make it from your book draft to your final. You only catch a stray one (and rather major one) until about a month later and then rethink your entire skill set.
'Clock obsessed.'
I have written a parody of a character who loathes clocks because of his imprisonment in the Tower of Babel, and somehow, a note from my 2018 draft that I made so I can omit such a trait made its way in.
*GROANS*
THE EIDOLON SERIES, A DARK PARODY
Death Ballots (Book One of the Eidolon Series) is a dark adult parody inspired by Danny Phantom and Supernatural. While it echoes familiar themes and features nods to beloved characters, it is distinctly its own narrative.
This series employs a serious tone, delving into complex explorations of death, life, and morality. It transforms the lighthearted premise of heroics into a nuanced story that addresses adult themes like loss, the consequences of choice, and sacrifice.
What Makes Death Ballots a Parody?
Tone: Unlike the original series, which is playful, this version adopts a darker tone that emphasizes the gravity of existence.
Character Depth: Characters have intricate backstories and face moral dilemmas that mirror real-life struggles, contrasting with their simpler portrayals in the original.
Themes: The narrative invites audiences to consider deeper questions about mortality, identity, and the afterlife.
Satire: It highlights the absurdities of the original premise, forcing audiences to reconsider genre conventions. There are no innocent happily ever afters.
Real Consequences: Actions and relationships carry weight, making the supernatural elements relatable.
Parody Representation: SOME character names are retained for parody purposes, but none retain their original appearances or backstories.
Examples from both the inspiration and the Eidolon Series:
Show: Aragon from a nondescript medieval kingdom in the Zone sends his meek and oppressed sister to find him a human bride via a beauty pageant.
Ref: Supernatural, ghostbusters, and other paranormal media reference contracts between parties and demonic attachments.
The Eidolon Complex: Rebellious witch, Rune Abrams, decides to show off her skills to one exhausted human artifact (Revenant/Daniel Stroud) but gets into more than she bargained for when her novice hands bind her to a supposedly long-dead Prince (Aragon of Almor) in the French region of the Nether (Gaulish French language. Tied history to Brasil ( the land of Irish fae) as the forgers of a great demon blade and its two brothers. Severed during the Dark Ages into the Nether). Faced with the genuine threat of ‘til death do us part’, the Prince who wishes to annul the union is prevented from doing so by an ‘orchestrated’ misunderstanding that places his sibling on the throne and him in a dungeon so she can ‘keep’ a rather grisly secret from their people.
Show: Clockwork, a being who controls time exclusively and sees over the flow of it with the observants. He’s often seen aging casually and supervises the flow of time for the entire world in multiple episodes and ‘timelines’.
Ref: The Dark Ages are a period in human history littered with long-lost cultures, depictions of the Grim Reaper, and fear. Middle Eastern attire was reasonably absent in the European region save for huge markets and isn't widely noted in historical texts.
The Eidolon Complex Series: Enten, the first appointee of the previous embassary Nikkal, was fractured by the sealing of Slaugh in a cursed stone shell within the Red Halls of Brasil. His core/essence is spliced due to the energy use and previous damage, shattering his form and putting his ghostly appearance into a constant pain-riddled state of flux. Ancient Sumerian, he has NO affinity for clocks, though the Tower of Babel he resides in has gained some semblance of gearwork due to its position in the timeless region of the Nether. He’s been trapped, alone, and unknowingly ‘alive’ this entire time.
(There was a typo about clocks from my initial draft that tried making its way into a chapter of Death Ballots, but I've since killed that singular word after a confused browse through a few nights ago. Nearly eight books were drafted; so of course, it's the first one with that oops. That's somewhat expected to be browsed over when you've written that much parody material.)
The limestone prison of the previous demon king still sits in silence, its fingers outreached towards the skull he once sheathed the demon blade in, resealed by his escaped pet Willhelm/Terivingi and the current embassary (Damian).
7. Accessible Lore: Book one is designed for new readers, introducing its unique lore and concepts that diverge from the original inspiration.
8. Multiple POVs: The narrative is told from various first-person perspectives.
I encourage potential readers to approach Death Ballots with an understanding of its tone and intent to avoid misunderstandings.
Upcoming in Book Two:
Edgar Alan Poe, Vampire and Detective
The origins of the Sword, Terivingi, and a thickening plot to retain power in the lost Kingdom of Almor.
A demon hunter getting a hickey from a vampiric World War 2 pilot in a back alley, much to a ghost-hunting doctor's shock.
Poisoned dinners.
Norse Wyrms.
Thank you for your interest in this dark parody!
