Last Song:
"We've Got a Score to Settle" by The Dear Hunter. By far my most favourite band. I listen to them nonstop, and I hope to attend one of their concerts this year. I currently have this song on repeat because I've been thinking of drawing an Invincible related piece to it.
Favourite Colour:
I have a few. Brown, green, yellow, and purple. I like neutral, earthy colours [brown and green], yellow looks really nice with brown, and purple is somewhat of an outlier, but it also complements green and yellow.
Currently Watching:
Invincible season 4. The last episode (ep 5) was fantastic, and I cannot stop repeating the fight scene, going frame by frame... (Steven Yeun's voice acting.. oh my god it made me sick). I'm so proud of the animators. With such a tight deadline, they've been doing so well this season, and I'm excited to see how everything plays out from here. I watch it with my siblings, so unfortunately, I must wait till Sunday for my brother to come home from uni.
Current Obsession:
Invincible, Adventure Time / Fionna and Cake, and The Dear Hunter. Wow, what a combo.
Currently Working on:
A mix of everything: College work, a possible drawing I might post soon, and a commission (my partner just commissioned me). I've been going back and forth.
Last Google Search:
Other than Tumblr, I looked up Amazon Prime Video so I could, once again, repeat that scene.
hheyyy!!! So i saw your TADC oc Kaboom on Pinterest the other day, and so I got inspired today during algebra…I made him a sister and I thought you would care to see it!! Her name is Pow, And she’s almost identical to Kaboom, but not quite. Maybe they’re twins? Anyways, Pow is part dragon, kinda? So she has claws and neat dragon feet and her fuse is a tail. As for her marching uniform, it’s almost the same as Kaboom’s, just cropped and she has shorts instead of long pants. She has a cape (which are actually her wings!!) uh and I think she’s really neat!! I hope you like her :3 also instead of doing instruments, (although she can play piano and percussion) she does color guard, Rifle and baton throwing!!
(p.s if she was voiced, I like to imagine her voice similar to Jessica Rabbit’s but with a little bit more of a growl.)
SO THIS IS AMAZING??? I had to doodle them together
don’t mind how rusty I am, I haven’t drawn him in a hot minute, but this is so cool!
Hi! I found you on Reddit after somebody stole art of your TADC OC named Kaboom and claimed it as their own. I really like him and they remind me of Marvin the Martian! I think next time, you should add a signature onto your future art pieces to defend against art thiefs better. Hope you're doing well.
Hello! And thank you!
Though I would like to say, I do sign all most of my works , though I do understand that in someof my pieces it may be harder to see, especially if the quality has dropped!
I'll try to make it more legible next time as I seemed to have underestimated how popular some of my works might've become.
I'm gonna use this opportunity to yap about Scribbly as a transgender allegory... more under the cut
this turned out kinda vague and metaphorical... so for the full experience assume that everything is about transness.
possible tw for transphobia? (allusions to)
I mean, just look at him. he's in his 40's, but his life is only beginning. he's rediscovering himself, because before that GCBC didn't "live" – they had to think about survival first. now that everything's over, GCBC can finally think about life that they could actually enjoy.
and this is why Scribbly happened. his split was triggered by the sheer hate Bad Cop felt for himself, which was amplified by the events of tlm1. everything he's done he justified as self-defence, but in the end, following the instructions didn't save him. Business never liked him, and it wouldn't change no matter how hard GCBC tried to play by his rules. what's the possibility that their plurality wasn't accepted as much as it should be?
it's a hard task for them. for years they knew more than anyone else what happens when you don't conform. other people might see that anything out of ordinary is pretty much unwelcome, but they'd never believe how cruel it gets. There's a reason why they only make bots work in Super Secret Police. aside from GCBC, nobody gets to see the truth with their own eyes, making it easier to deny. GCBC knew firsthand what happens when you repeatedly fail to meet the expectations. he knew that there's no rule that states that those expectations must be reasonable. yet, the solution he chose wasn't to challange the authority. he kept trying to fit into the standard instead, and helped holding everyone up to this high standard as well.
now back to Scribbly. I noticed that my headcanons for him were... pretty pessimistic. as much as internal conflicts are curious and relatable, I didn't know what his good ending would look like. but this? applying trans experience to him changed everything. sure, he's a blank page. but it's only because he's a NEW page of their life! being detached from their past, Scribble had more chances to figure out how to find happiness. Bad Cop (especially BC who was left alone in their system) would probably have hard time accepting any improvement; he didn't think he deserved forgiveness, so why would he deserve better life?
then there are Scribbly's identity issues. you know this little headcanon that his face has to be redrawn sometimes? man. what a Theseus ship of a person. considering that Good Cop never came back, do you think it affects him too? anyway, it's just an inspiration for my headcanon that finding himself is something he wishes the most. being ever-changing must be very frustrating when you're constantly trying to find something unique to you. you know, he has to. otherwise people will keep thinking that he's Good Cop. oh, being perceived as a whole different person... do you see where I'm going with this?
~
Good Cop. it might be a lie to say that there's nothing from him that reflected in Scribbly. there's nothing inherently bad in this, but the way it affects how others view him changes everything. especially Bad Cop, who hoped to see Good Cop more than anyone. you can't find peace if you reject some parts of yourself, but if Scribble was to be more open about it, people would use the opportunity to try and force him further into the shape of Good. so instead he just constantly looks for something completely different. trying something new, loosing interest and being more upset about it than he probably should be. but that's my old pessimistic take showing up again. why can't it be something positive? sure, nothing stays forever, but everyone changes and it's normal. even if you change more often, as easy as accidental smudge of a marker on plastic surface... it may be THE thing that makes you special.
perhaps what defines Scribbly is how he gets to try everything. it might come from the fact that he was formed to socialise with masterbuilders. he isn't one of them, but he adopted their values and spirit of freedom. out of all three, he's the last one to give up variety for stable instructions.
ON A SIDE NOTE. if I was to headcanon GCBC as trans... Scribbly would be the one to identify with this label the most.
I see it this way: he's the one who's more open to outside world and hence trying harder to connect with his physical form; meanwhile Good and Bad don't see it as something that represents them at all. Sure, bodily they're transgender, but in their mind, they always were who they are, and it wasn't dependent on their appearance. Mostly because no matter what they do, their perception is already defined by the fact that they share their body with other people.
and then there's Scribbly. he's more... conscious about their appearance, just in general? he's more aware of what people think about him, and it fuels his desire to express himself. kind if why he made their punk outfit: police uniform wasn't just a leftover from their past, it was also symbolically opposite to his worldviews.
