Mini life story! I was born unable to poop (not entirely sure why, family history shows nothing), so I had a colostomy placed when I was 15 days old. Then due to docs not knowing what the fuck was up with me, they went in and did an exploratory. I got 2/3 of my large removed and 5% of my small removed. They then swapped my colostomy to an ileostomy. When I was 2.5yrs old, I got it reversed, and I've been bag free since!
Last year, all hell broke loose. I had a couple bowel obstructions before they went in for an exploratory.. 20 years later. He found an internal hernia, my abdomen was a fucking mess of adhesions and steroid-induced inflammation, and he found active Crohn's. He removed another 3ft of small intestine and the adhesions in 2 separate procedures, took 2 days. I nearly died on the table. So come April last year, I got to a good GI hospital, and the GI looked at all of my history, pathologies, and whatnot. He then proceeded to tell me that I've had Crohn's since birth. He said it was very mild to where I have never flared a day in my life.
So that brings me to now. I have adhesion issues, and I have surgery on the 25th. I'm on TPNs, so I have a PICC line. I'm hoping this surgery is the end-all-be-all of my pains and obstructive symptoms, because I am a 21 year old woman, I WANT TO HAVE A LIFE 😭😭😭
Anyway, thanks for coming to my TedTalk, just wanted to bitch and moan a tad with a helluva bunch of context
