Watching the World Cup (and especially the final) I understand Ego a bit better. The kind of football he wants for Japan is the kind of dominant football that doesn't let your opponent even have a chance, the kind of football Spain has used to win the World Cup

However, Spain has managed this by being a team where teamwork comes first and every single position is vital. Spain didn't win because they have one good striker (like yes, Lamine Yamal is good but he's not the star of the team). Spain won because they have eleven amazing players, everyone played their position to the best and made possible be so dominant that opponents couldn't even try

Spain, with a philosophy of teamwork, has beaten all the geniuses and egoist strikers

So maybe Ego had the right idea but the wrong method all along
