New project looking for submissions!
ok, so: close friends asking questions” attempts to create a space to share stories, feelings and methods of connecting, but anonymously. in this space, open up as honestly we would with a close friend, with questions that maybe only a close friend can ask, and answers that only a close friend might share.
all those little truths and all the collected wisdom of our lives get edited out of our social media, out of the movies and TV shows, out of the news entertainment shows, and out of the passing conversations we have with people we don’t really know. maybe that’s right and safe. but because of this, the impression left behind in those spaces is of someone far happier, far sadder, or simply very different from our true selves. so we go through life impressed, comparing, concerned and questioning the value of our own inner lives against inaccurate representations of others’.
ok, so: close friends asking questions” aims to undo a little of that, and instead focus on who we connect with deeply, how we ask questions of those people, and how we share ourselves in those relationships.
what am i doing with submissions?
the first project i plan to present the material through will be in blog format. after that, depending on the quantity, medium and subject matter of submissions, it may move into video, audio or publication projects. ultimately, all materials submitted will belong to me for the variety of possible projects, from its first intended form as a blog onward, all within the same context as this original request.
the interviews i’m looking to collect can be with anyone and can be about absolutely anything that you both consent to discussing and sharing. seriously. the focus of the interview can be about anything.
while submissions need real names, the work will be presented to the public anonymously.
you can send video files, audio files, written transcripts, chat (gchat, AIM, Skype, etc.) transcripts, photos and other ephemera that can be digitally shared with me. whatever suits you.
please share this with anyone you think might be interested, and feel free to email me with questions, ideas, or submissions at: closefriendsaskingquestions @ gmail dot com
