Rather underrated moment in Rebirth here.

I really liked that they emphasized Sephiroth's pity for the creatures in the tanks. When he swings his sword around, he's not throwing a tantrum so much as cutting the tubes in order to put the Makonoids out of their misery. He's completely disgusted with what Hojo has done to them. And naturally connects their creation with his own. I think they went with a more tragic approach here as opposed to the OG. Sephiroth was more or less having a rage-meltdown in the previous game. Here? He feels compassion for the creatures. They are abominations. The products of Hojo's sadistic ambition.

But then...so is he.

And that realization is what ultimately breaks him.

So that is reflected in my art. It's meant to have a calm, tranquil vibe which I need a lot of in my life and so I look for it everywhere because I have such bad anxiety and panic disorder. I've been sick the past few days, but he's been by this gremlin's side at all times. He also helps me stay warm and snug...as seen in the photo above.

Pictures from last week's Halloween-themed art event. We featured all the glow-in-the-dark potion bottle keychains we made!

He was a very hardworking merchant that day. Thanks to him, many people brought our creations home (the last photo features him and what we ran out of first!!).

I'll post more about our bottles (and their glow-in-the-dark capabilities) in the future! For now, my business partner and I will rest and recover, happy and fulfilled.

I am also now genuinely wondering if Edge of Creation Sephiroth is the culmination of Sephiroth's discarded emotions and memories. And a representation of the person he left behind. I'm still unsure if Sephdemption is on the agenda in the next game, but I could easily see a final confrontation in which Cloud defeats this version of Sephiroth and finally releases him to be at peace in the Lifestream, maybe with Angeal and Lucrecia there to welcome him. It's certainly possible.
