It seemed that 2016 – a year that has proved to be a real hotspot for untimely celebrity deaths – rolled to a close, it had claimed yet another victim. But it turned out to be the work of internet pranksters rather than the cruel hand of fate. The Twitter post – since deleted – read: “RIP @britneyspears #RIPBritney 1981-2016.” The hackers then added: “britney spears is dead by accident! We will tell you more soon #RIPBritney.” Pop legend Britney, 35, has not Tweeted since December 23 – but earlier today shared a video montage of her two sons Jayden and Sean-Preston enjoying some outdoorsy Christmas fun with their cousins. Hinting that Britney’s Christmas had featured some form of death – just not her own- the post revealed that her sons by backing dancer Kevin Federline had celebrated the festive season by going “hunting and zip lining”. #MCM George Michael ❤️

I posted this July 20, 2015. I grew up loving Wham! then George Michael’s solo music. I loved his soulful voice, his passion as an artist and admired him for standing up to his record label to regain his artistic “FREEDOM!” and live his truth! I’m so sad and shocked to hear of his passing. His beautiful music will live on forever more. I send my sincere condolences to George’s family and friends.

If any one who’s reading this post is not familiar with Wham or George Michael’s discography I highly recommend you give their music a listen! Here are some of favs:

My favorite Wham! songs are: Wake Me Up Before You Go Go, Everything She Wants and Careless Whisper. Careless Whisper is officially on a Wham album but it is his first hit as a solo artist and it’s fantastic!!

My favorite George Michael solo songs are: Father Figure, Faith, Too Funky, Jesus To A Child and One More Try.

I’m sure we’ll hear more of George’s music in the days ahead. RIP George Michael
