“If someone took something from me I’d deal with them in my own way. I don’t need laws or an outside force to interfere with my problems.” Kakuzu had to look out for number one. ’Number one’ being himself of course. He was more than capable of taking care of himself. If anyone sought to steal from him they’d lose their life.

. “oh well………..i don’t know actually.  i mean there are more of us but…….i dunno if they’re here.” she frowned, seeing as that was a pretty difficult topic at the moment. “did your friends come with you?”

“Hopefully not.” Kakuzu didn’t have any friends. He had acquaintances and his Akatsuki partner, but anyone that he considered a true friend had died a long time ago. “So, I can assume that this place is a pit of the worse kind of people. Taken from their own worlds. It must be chaotic.”

Kakuzu had already explored most of district Zeta where he was housed, so now he was taking time to explore the rest of The Hive. If this was going to be his new world it was best to learn about everything he could sooner rather than later. He’d grown so accustomed to his old world (obviously), so being thrusted into this new one jarred him a bit, which wasn’t easy for anyone to do. 

He was going to have to learn what was acceptable, and what he could get away with. Noticing a young woman passing by, he looked over and took the chance to address her-- 

“You, girl. Does this world have some kind of military force?”

“i’m a hedgehog! he-ji-hog!” she pouted, spelling the word out for him like he was an idiot. normally she would have reacted much nicer if it weren’t that tone. she squinted at him, wondering if he knew how strange he looked himself.

“and why am i the weird one!? you look pretty weird yourself!”

“A hedgehog?” Kakuzu repeated in slight disbelief. It seemed like both of them would find each other strange, since they were from different worlds after all. Yeah Kakuzu was pretty odd anyway, so the comment did nothing to upset him. 

“Point made. Are there more creatures like you here?”

“Where would someone with years of combat experience find a job in this city?” If The Hive had a black market, or some kind of mercenary underground Kakuzu would definitely go for that. He’d been doing that for so long, it was what he was most comfortable with.

“I know there are no laws here, so you are just wasting your energy by  preaching to me.” Kakuzu thought he’d left all of the annoying prattling and preaching behind in his old world. What a fool he was for even hoping that. Hidan wasn’t the only annoying preacher he’d encounter, of course. Also, it wasn’t like Kakuzu bothered to abide by his old world’s laws anyway.

“What the hell are you suppose to be?” Already this place was bringing Kakuzu interesting things to investigate. Despite his age and the many things he encountered throughout his life-- he’d never seen anything quite like this creature.
