kind of excited to see dustin be a cunt to his friends for a little bit....pop off king
Can we talk about how my man Steve was out here spinning tapes left and right to add friggin sound effects to his buddy’s off-the-cuff radio host monologue?? A host who is known for high-speed rambling off topic, spitting facts, AND speaking in code without pause???
Robin and Steve’s radio show is good y’all and they are good at it. Robin is born for this position and Steve has found his calling as a Robin mindreader (this we knew) as well as a brilliant folie artist and I am here for it. Who gives a shit if they didn’t read the manual to run this station? They managed to hack their way into something incredible and I’m very proud of both of them. 😭
inevitably any light critique of a work of queer literature on here is uncovered by bloggers who seem to genuinely believe every book on earth falls into one of these two categories, and because of this we should have lower expectations for queer writers. otherwise big heterosexual wins, you understand.
i've washed ashore twice in my life and i have to tell you the directors are editing out how much water you barf up and especially how much of it comes out your nose.
if i could have cut directly to me weakly coming back round lying on the ground and skipped the nose barf part believe me i would have.
whereas i believe quite a few characters who wash ashore in their various medias would benefit from experiencing that on-screen. i think it could be beneficial to their growth.
As much debate as there is about tone tags, 90% of the issues would be solved by just typing the word. Like instead of typing /gen or /hj you can just write (genuine) or (handjob) and you'll be doing pretty much the exact same thing.

STRANGER THINGS T5.E3 | Chapter Three: The Turnbow Trap
It irks the fuck out of me when people talk about masculinity and femininity as if they are naturally existing things and not a random collection of traits grouped together to enforce social norms of gendered labor. I understand they can be useful shorthand in casual conversation where the meaning can be assumed from context, but to talk about them as if theyre just neutral concepts is completely fucking insane.
this fetishism of the Natural (allegedly unspoiled, unmodified ways of living) is so tied up in various forms of fascism and bigotry that once you notice it you see it everywhere. to remove or insulate oneself from the realm of the Natural is to be effeminate, emasculated, weak, sheltered, disabled, degenerate, less human. you see it in transphobic rhetoric, you see it in ideas about "online vs real life", you see it in ableism about assistive devices, it's everywhere
to clarify, the intent of this post was not just to say "a lot of bigotry stems from an idea of what is 'natural'". that point has been made many many times and does not need repeating. what i was rather hoping to express was the caricature of what sort of person is considered to participate in activities deemed "unnatural", and how that image relates to other widespread and insidious ideas of degeneration (a perceived "worsening" away from what is supposedly right and good and normal) that i've posted about a lot in the past and are overwhelmingly present on this very site. it is trivial to say that trans people are seen as unnatural by transphobes, or that assistive devices are seen as unnatural by ableists. what i rather hoped to illustrate was, specifically, the list of adjectives i employed: to be divorced from nature is synonymous with being diseased, which is synonymous with being weak, which is synonymous with being effeminate/emasculated, which is synonymous with being disabled, which is all wrapped up in this big idea of degeneracy that is really and truly everywhere, and in everything. it is probably in posts you've reblogged before! this is a post about how the natural/unnatural binary connects to ideas of degeneration that inform other bigotries. ok? thanks 🫶
"well, you're the expert here!" i had to googoo it 💔
Richard Bober's cover to the 1976 Dell Laurel-Leaf edition of A Wrinkle in Time, by Madeleine L'Engle. Bober was only confirmed as the artist in 2023!
Was anyone gonna tell me that there's a Creature in The Terror. I thought it was just about 20 men named John sucking and fucking and eating each other in the Arctic.
