❝ Sell your soul while you’re alive to that one devil that will buy
You’ll find, once you pry that it’s all null so deep inside
Combine, smiling wide, don’t delay but kill and fight ❞
—— ⛤ ❝ It isn’t safe to promenade around the streets like this so late at night. You never know who could be watching you. ❞
Cutting through the silence of the night came a voice, the witch who almost appeared out of nowhere witch a chilling aura that contrasted an all too-sweet tenderness in her voice. One step. Then another. And another; towards the stranger, eager to see how they’d react.
Perhaps they’d make an interesting toy for a little while...
—— ⛤ Lost...? What did he mean by that exactly? If he was talking about where they’d both found themselves, then of course she knew exactly where she was. Rhosyn was only ever where she NEEDED to be, the place where she’d find her newest game or something else to entertain her otherwise rather boring existence. That was why she’d come, wasn’t it?
Or could it be that he meant something else entirely? Something more... abstract.
It was a question she’d never really considered asking herself, never once considering her place in the universe or for what reason she existed at all. If her family and that prophecy were to be believed then her life mission had already been completed so long ago. Yet, for some reason she continued to exist for some unknown purpose. She lived each day never knowing what the future could hold and never once considering if she was doing the ‘right’ thing.
Did she even know what that was anymore? Had she ever known at all? If there was something out there for her beyond her current life, how would she even go about finding it?
So many questions ran through her head with no clear answers as she stared as him, ruby hues wide in surprise. Maybe in all this time that she’d spent running, becoming the monster that they’d promised that she would become... She really had lost herself along the way?
❝ I think... That maybe I might be. If you are as well, then perhaps... Could we find the way together? ❞
@theabyssalmuses asked: "knowledge is power." - from Lalnable
400 RANDOM DIALOGUE PROMPTS | open
—— ⛤ What an interesting assertion that that the man had made, that information held true power in this world. For her, it was laughable to even consider that to be the case. Of course, she could admit that in some ascpects of the modern world it was true, but how could simple words hold up to a blade or a gun?
A cold laugh escaped the woman’s lips as crimson hues locked onto him. What a terribly strife-free life he must have lived to be so naive about the nature of the world.
❝ Power is power. To think otherwise would be foolish. Could knowledge protect children from a murderer? Could knowledge stop a derailed train hurtling towards a cliff? Could knowledge save a man from being gunned down by his opressors for simply being ‘different’? And could knowledge save a little girl from years of abuse from the people who she was taught were supposed to love her? ❞
Before he could answer the witch had brough her face closer to his, a fire that he’d never seen before seeming to glow in her eyes; a passionate hate as she spoke of things he was far too witless to even have considered.
❝ Choose your next words very carefully, else you might find it hard to speak ever again. ❞
“No.” is almost what he says, an instinctual response to her question- however, he caught himself before he spoke. He could feel it in the air, in her every word, in the way that she moved. His keen senses picked up on it- this sense that he had almost grown accustomed to.
Ah. He thought to himself. Another dangerous one.
“Is that so?” He finally says, putting on an insincerely sincere smile. “I’m afraid there’s not all that much I can do for you, you know.” He speaks calmly and politely, his smile not once wavering- there was nary heads nor tails of just how wary he was feeling at that moment.
“I’m not at all that interesting.” He says quietly, Really just wanting to get away from her. If he comes back some other time- atleast he’ll be a little more prepared.. hopefully, anyway.
Ultimately, he could tell she was dangerous– not that he, too, wasn’t a dangerous individual - but she had a far more apparent ‘immediate threat’ than him in this instance. Regardless of what transpired, her positioning right now - as well as him not knowing her capabilities - gave her every possible advantage.
“If you’d like- I can think of a few people you may find a little more…exciting.”
—— ⛤ What a sharp one he was. In barely a second he’d identified her as a threat and attempted to play along, all the while trying to remove himself from the situation. How much fun the beast could have with one such as him. There was just no way she could let him slip through her fingers now !!
Still refusing to come into view, a smile spread upon the witch’s face ( not unlike one would expect from a snake ) as her hushed voice spoke once more into his ear.
❝ But why would we want anyone else to entertain us when we’ve chosen you? Besides, if you don’t think you can excite us even a little, then what use do we have for your continued existence? ❞
