Hey, I'm sorta new to the furby community and I wanna ask -- how do you change the eyes like that?? It looks so neat, and I kinda really wanna do that!!
Itâs a shame Furbtography was deleted, I had answered this before but! Do not fret! I have your answer as to how I sand and Print eyechip chips!
Heres what I use;
Caution! Long post!
Hot Glue stick to take out the eyechip in the first place ( get one side sorta melty, stick to furbyâs eye and put it in the freezer from 8-10 minutes and then they should pop right out! Dont worry about furby, I actually left catermelon in the freezer for like an hour on accident! And she is fine )
Ok so my file! Itâs a ultra fine metal nail file! ONLY USE THIS KIND. Any other nail file will damage the chip beyond repair!
After filing the factory paint off your chip will not be clear! Thatâs what the baby oil and nail shiner is for! Pour a bit of oil on the shiner, then rub the chip on it
The chip should come clear! Wash the oil off and voila!
What I do next is design a chip on a drawing software, print it out ( this part is essential! You must print at the right size ! 14.5mm is brush size 54.8 and 12mm is 45.3! Make sure your canvas is 8.5 inches by 11 inches! )
I dont use glue anymore but if you want to, use modpodge very lightly! Then you have it! Printed chips!
I hope this helps!
My custom furby that I made in the summer vacation but only recently started to likeâŚ
The Furby faceplate for 3D printing is (finally) here!
Download the faceplate here.
This is free to use, but I would love to see you share what you do with it â Iâm always looking for inspiration!
Some items of note:
This faceplate is great for projects but is not (yet) compatible with the original furby buddy faceplate. We are planning on making a more accurate version, but we donât know when exactly we will get to it, so the community is welcome to do so!
The faceplate eyes, eyelashes, and front plate are in one piece rather than in 5. This makes the printing process easier and reduced the needed accuracy for it to be printed.
The eye is solid (does not have a space for an eye-chip) â this means that currently you will have to either paint or print and glue on eyes. In the future, we would like to leave a gap in the eye so that clear glass or plastic could be inserted, to look more like the real furby. (My thought was that these could be used, as - to my knowledge - 10 mm should fit a furby buddy. We are waiting for our order of these to arrive at time of writing.)
We did not make the endcaps which hold the front plate on to the backplate, because we found that they werenât necessary to hold the face together.Â
The faceplate was created using Fusion360, and we can share CAD files on request.
look at these gorgeous eye chips i commissioned from @bootnotfurby!!!!! theyâre based on this photo i took and they did such an awesome job capturing the feel & colours i wanted!!!
i was practicing painting landscapes from stock photos a while back and just had them laying around so here enjoy highly detailed furby eyes. No iris. No focal point. Just the infinite abyss.Â
Eighth theme isâŚuhâŚwhyâd i redraw the normal eyechips
iâve heard people really like certain standard eyes and justâŚcanât find them
also good for if you want to use glass eye chips!!Â
also, if youâd like any recolors in the â1998 furby eye styleâ, just throw me an ask! iâd be happy to recolor these!
if you do use any of these, iâd love to see what you make!!

Megalist of Unique Furby Names 2.0 - New Furby Fansite!
Bigger. Badder. Furby-er. Welcome to Unique Furby Names 2.0.
(Link to 1.0 can found here)
Highlights: 60+ brand new categories, over 1,000 new names, website dedicated exclusively to names, requests being taken for new categories.
Six months ago, I posted a list of over 900 names specifically to help people in the Furby fandom name their new friends. It received over three hundred notes with all sorts of thanks. People messaged to tell me the names that they had chosen off of the list. I was called a god on multiple occasions. I even referenced it from time to time for myself - thatâs where Party Favor got his name from.
And yet, I knew I had more names to contribute yet.
Iâm back, and with a vengeance. The drill is the same as last time: below the cut are over nine hundred Furby names, organized by category. But this time, I have a more systematic approach to the lists. Instead of copy-pasting them into a single, slow-loading Tumblr text post, I have put them all on a new website called âThe Furby Name Hordeâ. The original unique names post had 58 categories and over 900 names. This new one has 67 categories and over 1,000 new names. What are you waiting for?
Click on the link if youâd like to jump right into the new names (or you can click here if you want a brief summary of the site). Read below the cut if you want to learn more about the site.

Custom complete! Spaceby is finished, with contellations, mostly accurate on fur and faceplate, planets in his eyes (and a dwarf if you look closely), and a galactic tongue.
How do people find out what factories their furbs are from?
Look at the bottom of your Furbyâs battery door! Most of them have a circled, two-letter label in the bottom right corner. These are usually JT, GE, WT, or RL, though some other two-letter labels have been seen. Furby Babies should also have these labels!
However, some Furbies may not have a factory marker! Hereâs one of my Furbies, Ay-loh, who has a weird code in the corner instead. She also has a copyright date of 2000, so they likely removed the labels when they updated mold to match the copyright!
Edit: @aibo7m3 pointed out that you can check their cloth tag for a factory label! Ay-loh is a WT!
A lot of people liked my lil denim jacket I made for my furby, Sherbert!
So I thought why not make a tutorial?
Fear not!
Itâs way easier than I originally thought!
Basically all it is, is a rectangle of denim fabric.
You could just as easily cut off a leg from an old pair of jeans and use that too!
Firstly, measure around your furbies body, leaving some room at the front. Make sure to add a centimetre for seam allowance otherwise it might be a lil tight.
Next, youâll want to pieces of jean/denim material and pin them so both denim sides are facing each other (inside out)
Sew the two together leaving a gap for you to be able to turn it inside out.
Turn it inside out and finish the stitching so there are no holes and itâs a nice rectangle.
OPTIONAL STEP: To make it look like a real denim jacket, I added gold/beige stitching around the edge like youâd see on jeans.
Fold over the top of the fabric to make a collar! No stitches required, just iron it in place and it will stay.
OPTIONAL STEP: To make the collar look more triangular at the end (see below), fold the corner under and add a couple stitches so itâll stay in place.
Lastly, wrap it around your furb and secure in place with a safety pin at the front.
Now you can decorate it as you wish! Paint it? Sure! Lil pins? Beautiful! pOCKETS??? Go for it!
Hope this made sense! If you end up making one, please tag me! Iâd love to see it!
hello everyone you may have seen my furby mod over on my main! well here are some progress photos of that im planning on doing another hence the new sideblog so look forward to that at some point ALSO yes it can move still, i have to go buy batteries but theoretically it should work! beak and eyelid mobility is slightly limited but ears and the bottom wedge should work just fine
Hereâs a furby buddy pattern! I modified @pocket-furbs super awesome pattern (you can find it right here!) there were a couple of minor errors in the pattern pieces (that were addressed in the post) so i thought iâd draw up my own thing with some slight edits!
photos of assembly instructions under the cut!

Wow, this is really neat! :D
For those of you who may be having difficulties with my furby buddy pattern, I highly suggest that you give this a look. Not only has this person made an awesome visual guide for how the pieces fit together, but they also have tailored my pattern to look much closer to the original shape!Â
Hereâs another baby angel furby I named Ambriel!
Guide to Furby Fandom Tags
Thereâs been a lot of newcomers to the furby fandom recently, and Iâve been seeing a lot of them ask really excellent questions about the fandomâs tagging system. I figured that I would write up a brief guide to these tags and how they are used to avoid confusion!
furby: Obviously used to tag furbies.
allfurby: Also used to tag furbies, but with a catch â itâs our fandom-specific tag. Sometimes people who are outside of the furby fandom will post images of destroyed furbies or other types of furby hate within the furby tag, and most of us would like to avoid that. So âallfurbyâ indicates that the post comes from a pro-furby blog. Why do some of us still use furby and allfurby simultaneously, then? I canât speak for everyone, but in my case, I know that I discovered the furby fandom by typing âfurbyâ into the Tumblr search bar, and thatâs how I got here. I want to make the fandom visible to people who might do the same thing as me! It also helps to push down hate with positive furby images.
furby fandom: Basically the less popular version of âallfurbyâ. Sometimes used to specifically reference the fandom, not just furbies.
safefurby: Safefurby in many ways serves the same purpose as allfurby, but it has a complicated history thatâs worth mentioning. There was a particularly rough time in the fandomâs history where we discovered that some of our high-profile users were into DD/LG and possibly lolicon â something we as a fandom with a lot of minors take very seriously. Less horrifically, at the same time all of that was happening, there was a blog (who I think was literally called nsfwfurby) posting a lot ofâŚwell, NSFW furby memes. Things like furbies wearing whips and chains or referencing sex. Nothing too bad, but stuff that some members didnât want to see. Out of these two events, safefurby arose. It was simultaneously a stand against DDLG members in the furby community and a place where no inappropriate furby references could be made. Donât worry, even at the time it was made, its purpose was confusing.
So how do you use safefurby now? A good rule of thumb is that if any of your posts are NSFW or even slightly inappropriate  â ie, posing your furby with a bottle of alcohol or a cigarette â donât tag it as âsafefurbyâ. Itâs a âsafeâ space for people who donât want to see images of furbies in âadultâ situations (please keep in mind that when I say adult, Iâm talking about the examples I made before â posing naked with furbies or furby porn tends to be explicitly frowned upon posting to any of our tags).
f *furby name here*: You might see people tagging images of their furbies with âf *furby name here*â. For example, when I post pictures of Clorox, I tag them with âf Cloroxâ. The âfâ either stands for âfurbyâ or âfeaturingâ depending on whoâs using it and indicates that the furby with that name is in the picture. It makes searching for images of your furby on your blog worlds easier because your blog wonât pull up you just mentioning the name of your furby in a post (provided that you only tag images with f *furby name here*, of course).
This should cover all of them! I hope this guide helps. Please reach out to me if you have any questions or if I missed any.
