I don’t use this label a lot (because I personally don’t need a label to be secure in my existence BUT I am all for other people using labels to love themselves and help others) but I am a heteroromantic—yes that’s a mouthful— asexual. Real life friends, HI IM ACE I LOVE YOU.

Now that I got my intro out of the way, I am sick and tired of the hate. By asking to be apart of the LGBT+ discussion, I am asking for validation. For people to tell me I am not broken. I am not trying to “infiltrate” the community with “heteronormalitive bullshit”. I CANNOT HELP that I am aesthetically, romantically, and sensually attracted to men. Just like you cannot help who you are sexually, romantically or otherwise attracted to. STOP MAKING US SEEM PATHETIC OR EVIL. I realize I do not face same discrimination as you. But since you asked, I have had family members tell me I’m not “truly living” until I’ve had sex. I have been made to feel like I owe men sexual acts because I am attracted to them in some way. I AM PETRIFIED OF BEING TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF. Humans are supposed to celebrate rising above all forms of prejudice and exclusion!

The ace discourse has to stop. What’s next? Shaming biromantic people if they are romantically involved with a person of the opposite sex!?

anyways, straight people are people attracted only to the opposite gender. heteroromantic aces and heterosexual aros are just that- heteros. even if they don't experience both sexual and romantic attraction, their attraction is still solely to the opposite gender, making them straight.

as for privilege, they have full access to straight privilege. the only disprivilege they have is the slight disprivilege that comes from being ace or aro. they still 100% benefit from straight privilege, because they're straight.

People don’t seem to understand that a whole lot of radfems were once libfems? Some of us, like me, were even trans activists for a time. If you could genuinely, honestly prove to me, that trans women are real women, that they received female socialization, that terf ideology was actually violent, that male socialization doesn’t exist or doesn’t exist for trans women, that trans men do not experience sex based oppression, that sex based oppression doesn’t exist, that males are not responsible for the majority of violent crimes, that men suffer from sexism… If someone could honestly prove these things to me, I would renounce radical feminism immediately. The problem is, none of these things can be proven, but they can all be debunked. That’s the real problem. I’m not a radfem because I ‘hate trans people’ or want to 'exterminate’ them or whatever woowoo nonsense they’re saying about terfs nowadays.
