If there were ever a reason to call someone out for overstepping your boundaries it would probably be something akin to entering your house while you were not present. However, with Ran–that wasn’t overstepping. The thing that sparked his curiosity the most in this conversation was which book she was borrowing–he was close to asking her himself, but dropped it in favor of some light teasing.

“Oi, oi. How can I guess if you’re just going to give me the answer?” The word ‘idiot’ fondly hanging from the tip of his tongue, unsaid. This time. Her cooking for him sounded both appealing and un. On one hand he needed to eat, on the other she would see his sparsely stocked groceries. “I can find food for myself, I’m almost home anyway and have an essay I need to start.”

Ran let out a soft giggle at Shinichi’s teasing and walked closer to the books, looking for something to present in front of their class, she wanted those extra points after all. “I already brought grocery with me so there is no way i’m not going to cook.” she told him with a smile and picked out a few books, inspecting them to see what they were all about. “What about curry?” she asked.

It still felt strange to her to hear him say he was coming home, it.. sometimes felt like this was all just a dream and once she would wake up he would be gone again and just thinking about it sometimes drove her mad. She just didn’t want to lose him again. “I think.. i found the perfect book.” she told him as she held it in her hand. A book Shinichi knew just too well.. - that stupid Sherlock Holmes freak. She put the book in her purse and headed out of the room and downstairs into the kitchen where she had put the two bags of grocery’s down. 

“I guess i will see you in a bit, okay?”

“Oi, Shinichi.. guess where I am right now?” Ran chirped cheerfully as she held her phone to her ear after hearing the males voice. “I’m at your place, i need to borrow a book. I’m also going to clean up a little bit while i’m here.” she smiled as she entered the what she called ‘the library room’. “I know you are not home right now but is there anything you want me to cook for you?”

“Hai,” Conan chirped dutifully with a small nod of his head. He would probably take that advice right to heart as soon as possible. He did not have to worry her after all.

“That sounds fun Ran-neechan,” he added as he smiled at her. He could use a break from the home as well. “Where were you thinking we should go?”

“I was thinking we could maybe call up Kazuha-chan and Heiji-kun.. you and him get along well, right? We could go on a little trip with them to the beach.” she suggested and smiled softly at him. 

“Or we could do something else.. anything you want to. Is there somewhere you would want to go?” she asked and squat down to him to be on his eye level. The heat in Japan was being unbearable and she really needed them to go somewhere to cool down but if he wanted to do something else, she wasn’t going to say no.
