I hate Rocket League.
I played Rocket League so much that I hate it. It is the worst videogaming experience I’ve ever met in my life. I’ve never played a game that made me want to quit it so much to not care the money I spent (not much really, God bless Steam’s winter sales), but never ever see it again in my Steam Library.
Why do I hate such a funny game, loved by almost everyone on this rotten planet? Because it’s not fun. It’s. Not. Fun. The more you play, the more you understand you’ll never have fun: you buy a game, but to have fun you have to practice hundreds of hours(???) in order to become a crazy good player and enjoy RL to its fullest.. otherwise you can stop playing, the game will just kick you in the teeth and so the other crazy good players.
There is no progression, you can hardly feel you’re “improving”. There are not previous gaming experiences that can help you, you start from 0 no matter what you played for your entire life.
Is it really worth it? I mean.. if I wanted to practice, training, spend hours every day trying the same things over and over until I’m good at them.. Wouldn’t it be healtier to do sports, instead of sitting in front of a computer, playing a ridicolous game with nasty people?
every multiplayer game has its nasty people, tho. i don’t see the problem here. I generally suck at games like this and i’m so enjoying it. How are these people being nasty tho? A good majority are playing on the PS4, of which they can’t type anything and the ones on PC, very rarely have i ever seen some type things, let alone have a mic. Even then, just mute them and you’re good. Rocket League is good shit. GOOD ADDICTIVE CRACK SHIT. lolol
@ sheothemadone: yes mobas aren’t easy like they seem, they are quite difficult to master especially because they require more knowledge than “hand skills”, they require teamplay and cooperation.. I know the feeling, they are surely one of the most frustrating games out there :)
Hey wanako, it’s been a long time :) Oh well, from my experience there have been quite a number of nasty people on RL, more than actually those I meet on Heroes of the Storm lol. One time the match wasn’t even started and this guy said “if we get 1 goal I’ll troll your match, fucking coward” and I was like “wtf? I don’t even know you”, it was so cringy that it was funny too. But I’m a big boy, I’ve dealt with a lot of shitty people on videogames and I don’t mind some shit exchanges with rude people.
Problem is at some point you need to get good, but the game doesn’t have any way to make you learn and improve. You either are good or not, but you have to be good if you want to really enjoy the game.. and that requires lot of time and lot of talent, which not everyone may have. Sometimes it seems we forget that a game really needs to be just a game.
