My brother’s birthday was a few days ago so I doodled him Martian Manhunter (one of his favorite superheroes) eating Chocos (which are pretty much Oreos, his favorite snack).

I hope everyone had, not only a had a great Christmas, but a fantastic year over all. I know that might be hard to say for some, but I take comfort in knowing that everything happens for a reason, and that includes good and bad things. Anyways, for Christmas this year, I bought myself a new graphics tablet (The Huion WH1409 to be exact) and I tested it out by drawing this cute mashup of Alvin and the Chipmunks and the Grinch since I was listening to "Christmas Don't be Late" and "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" all day yesterday. Enjoy! And what did you guys get for Christmas?
Be sure to check this art out on Deviantart and follow me there for more art as well!
Presenting THE GUARDIAN! And more importantly, here is the basic mock-up for the Guardian comic that I’m illustrating for. Stay tuned for more art as it develops
I cannot recommend the site quickposes.com enough to anyone who wants a rigorous, yet super helpful way to practice drawing tons of poses in a short amount of time. I know, for me anyway, it’s super frustrating when I have a particular pose in mind, but I just can’t translate it to paper for some reason. This site is definitely helping with that aspect and plus, it’s a lot of fun when you start getting on a roll with these sketches. I was really getting into the kung-fu figting poses on the bottom.
Here’s another side project I’m working on. It’s a fan web comic that I’m helping with called called The Flash: Rogue Revolution, not to be confused with the actual Rogue Revolution comic arc from DC. And with any fan-made comic, it’s up to me (the artist) to find the best way to botch-er, I mean, REINVENT one of the most classic superhero costumes in comics history. Not too shabby if I do say so myself. With this comic, I really wanted to create a Flash/Barry Allen that paid homage to the classic comic version from his debut, while also modernizing the design in the process.
A WIP of the cover for the Guardian comic that I’m currently working on. It’s times like these where I’m glad that I’m collaborating with someone to help me decide on colors lol. The biggest one is the one that I’m using for shading
More more MOOORE comic book concept art!! This time, the spotlight is on our sexy sorceress villain. She has it in all the right places and she’s always looking to show off, if only she was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. You also get a peak at a more in-depth concept art approach that I’m beginning to try.
Essentially, I just spat out a bunch of ideas for things that I thought would look cool (even if I didn’t think they’d look cool, I tried them anyway ),I would jot down the character traits I wanted the final product to convey, and I’d distribute tally marks to the pieces that I liked the most. I’m going to try combining my favorite aspects into 2 or 3 touched up versions and then decide from those which sorceress I want to keep.
But seriously, if you’re an artist who needs a warm up exercise or you’re bored out of your mind and just want to doodle, check out artprompts.org.
More comic sketches! This time featuring Sean Hunter AKA The Destroyer!
Father figure, business man, and astronomy nerd are just a few words and phrases that can be used to describe Sean Hunter. That is, until the Destroyer alien parasite bonds with him and infects him with its own lust for power and destruction. I wanted to make Sean look like someone you would want/see as a father, yet have a hint of shadiness and an underlying shiftness to him so you’d believe it when he turned evil. Eight now, it’s a toss up between the head on the far right and the head on the far left. Plus some bits and pieces from the other heads that I like.
A work in progress of a commission I’ve been meaning to do for a while. We’ve seen Hulk and Supes duke it out before, so hopefully I’ll be able to put my own unique spin on it.
Some more concept art sketches for the comic book that I’m drawing for. Isn’t it funny how designing the villain can be so much harder than designing the hero? From top to bottom: The Skull (crime boss), Ajax (no, not Francis lol. Skull’s right-hand man), The Guardian (our hero), and Destroyer (our villain; alien armor that has bonded to our hero’s best friend).
More warm up sketches for your viewing pleasure. Sometimes I work off of a random prompt, other times I just draw a bunch of random squiggles and go from there. Either way, I always end up with the best hot garbage drawings, as evidenced by Dr Herman Horror MD, Rosy Redburn AKA Punch-Up Girl and the Bubble Genie, and Samurai Crocodilo... I’m sorry
Just a quick, fun sketch I did as a warm up for today. Was feeling extra nostalgic for one of my favorite shows growing up. I wound up liking this a lot more than I thought ,so I might actually ink and color this someday haha.
Foster’s means so much to me because it was one of the main reasons I got into art, animation, and how to tell stories with them. The amount of creativity and heart that everyone involved put into it still amazes me to this day.
TLDR; Thanks for the awesome show @crackmccraigen! Also a big fan of WOY btw
I’m so glad a lot of people gravitate towards these art deco posters! Anyone have any suggestions for what characters (non-comic included) that I should do next? Maybe something SU or Gravity Falls related?
Four arms from Ben 10 baby! I got Four Arms for the Cartoon Network collab. Colors coming soon!
Gonna take a little break from DC fan art for a week or so, my Marvel babies need love too!
