“Huh.” The blonde huffed before smiling gently at Rebekah. “You’ll have to show me how then. Anything beats twerkin’.” Taylor giggled. “Sure, sounds good to me. I don’t plan on drinking tonight except for maybe one or two cocktails. I really just want to dance and have fun – or at least until my feet start hurting.” She teased. The smirk which appeared on the blondes face was anything but raunchy at Rebekah’s words. The two blondes together literally could tear up this city and wreck the most fun havoc ever. But, Taylor was just as content with a night of dancing and good food. “Sounds good..for you. Maybe we’ll find me a guy.” Although a particular lacrosse team captain suddenly came to mind and she forced herself not to smile. Scott McCall..something about the idea of him even now made her heart race. But Stiles soon entered her mind and guilt took over the emotions which had formed. But it didn’t stop the ambers from burning within her at the idea she might run into that crooked jaw god. Licking her lips she glanced over at Rebekah. “I was thinking we should take another vacation before I graduate.” She informed her best friend and left out the main reason why she wanted to do this. “One last hooray before I go off to college.”

“ T W E R K I N’. . .” Rebekah had to stifle a laugh, but it became impossible when Taylor started to giggle and she just let herself be loose. “I think we both deserve a bit of fun,” The blonde original admitted earnestly. “Oh yes! I’m sure we could fix you up with someone nice and dirty.” Another snicker came from the vampire and she gave a shook her head to clear the thoughts. Perhaps she was a bit too overly excited for this girls night out, but it was a sting in her chest that made her ever the more persistent in the idea of fun it promised. “Really?! Where to?” It came as a shock, but nonetheless she welcomed it with a smile and began fixating her thoughts on the idea. “We can start planning the trip somewhat tonight if you’d like. Rome is particularly beautiful in the summer months.”

Glancing up, Spike shrugged a bit, “Depends on whut you mean by ‘gone off on me’. Darla never thought much of me, more than a stupid annoyance and Angelus… Well, he liked to teach me lessons by shagging  Drusilla, sometimes in front of me, to prove she wasn’t in love with me.”

He got quiet at the memory, his voice having hint of a growl in it. He may not be with Drusilla anymore, but it didn’t mean that he hadn’t been in love with her. Spike stood and waited at Rebekah’s instruction until he was invited in.  It was odd to be invited into a crypt, “Who now?”

“Well, you know,” Rebekah paused briefly to hear out the rest of his explanation before continuing on with a bit of hells fury in her tonality. “What I meant was that either the lot had left you altogether or somehow found ways to temporarily distance themselves from you after you gained that bothersome conscious of yours, but it appears perhaps you’re better off without them anyways so good on you.” With the exception of Aurora DeMartel the youngest Mikaelson sibling had only turned people she planned to spend her eternal life with and either Niklaus took matters into his own hands to end their lives or after said lover had been turned her use became non existent. Spike wasn’t left daggered in a box while his family sorted out his issues though… and while Rebekah had countless men that she’s deemed worthy of spending her life with over the centuries; because she had been so quick to fall in love, mostly she wanted nothing more than to return to her former life as a human which left only few that she’s turned willingly in her lifetime. It was a disgrace to hear of what this Angelus had done and it built a rage in her tum she couldn’t seem to subside. However the relationship she had with Niklaus wasn’t much better and she honestly should have felt similar when thinking on it, but her fragmented loyalty and lack of knowing any better left her too bitter to even think on the subject. So back to her former mind frame Rebekah contemplated the idea that this Drusilla character was the one he spoke of, but then it made no sense. Still though being familiar with the multiple lovers storybook gave her a better understanding and she responded appropriately without a hint of attitude directed at the bleach blonde vampire. “Shame on that one for going through with it then, I do hope you gave that Angelus bastard a few hard well earned hits though. If not, presuming he’s still living and what have it, I ought’a do it for you one of these days… I can really pack a wallop on the old boy and make him regret the day he was ever born.”

Rebekah had a genuine smile on her features that quickly dissipated at the behavioral notice she took just before entering the crypt. It was a face she’d worn well over a thousand times in the seconds leading up to being daggered and stored in a casket for decades. No amount of teasing would heal what he’s been through so instead she gave a little peak into her own life to show that she’d understood if only to some degree. “Nik isn’t ever all that loving either anymore, Elijah’s always caught up in holding our family together, Kol’s in his own world entirely and rarely does he spend his time on us— not that I particularly blame him, Freya’s relatively new but regardless she plays her own role, and Finn… Continues trotting on with intents to destroy our family entirely.” Rebekah pauses for breath that she doesn’t particularly need, but it offers him a chance to counter and ask questions in regards to her vagary. “Davina Claire. She’s the Regent in this city, but our affiliations with her aren’t necessarily prohibited by any singular coven of the nine she reigns over. She dates my older brother, Kol, though she’s also the adoptive daughter of my former Marcellus.” Honestly. Couldn’t she have described Marcel as something other than her ex? After all, Nik too Marcellus in when he was just a child and ever since Marcel was viewed as family. Perhaps it would be in her best interest to save those details for another time. “Have you met her?”

The annoyance towards Rebekah only built. She was right. They’d gone over all of this before, but it was different. At least he thought it was. It wasn’t as if he was going to help Damon get himself into more trouble, it was helping Damon keep out of trouble. Klaus wasn’t in any trouble. He was the trouble. Maybe after everything he’d been through he should have had a more positive outlook on her brother, or at least some sympathy, but when it came to hurting other people in order to get what he wanted….he just couldn’t. He wanted to be helpful and he didn’t want to create tension, but it was something Rebekah could understand. His family wasn’t just blood. It wasn’t just Damon. It was Elena and Caroline, it was Bonnie, and no matter how reluctant he was about the rest, it was Tyler and Matt. If anything happened to any of them he was going to do whatever he could to help. Just like he always tried to, even if things didn’t work out. “Maybe that’s the difference between the both of us. I want to keep Damon from going around and killing half the city. I’m trying to get him to be a better version of himself. You don’t care what Klaus does as long as it doesn’t hurt you. The Mikaelsons…never actually caring about anyone except themselves. You wonder why you have bad luck.” It was a jab he should have kept to himself, but they were always on the receiving end of something. If they cared about someone besides themselves maybe everyone would want to kill them. Instead they just spoke of how they were the all powerful and nothing could ever touch them. Something always did. “Next time I’ll bow at your feet for what you do.” He was appreciative, but he didn’t want to show it for her then. Not when he was more annoyed at her than he could remember being. “Being a human blood bag is better.” The words were sarcastic and he didn’t even try to pretend he was more approving of that. In the end, it wasn’t what Elena wanted and that was important to him. They were different…a little too different, it seemed. Something that was only becoming more clear as their little conversation went on. A foolish path they were down. He blurred after her and tried to ignore everything in his mind. It was a balance he wasn’t succeeding in. He knew just how she felt about Elena and sometimes, he found the jealousy to be endearing but, at the same time, he couldn’t just leave her there because it made Rebekah upset. He wondered how many times he had to tell her that there was nothing going on between he and Elena? She loved Damon and he hadn’t been back in her grasp since before he was so kind to manipulate Rebekah in order to get what he wanted. She didn’t love him and he didn’t love her. But they were friends. Friends did things for each other. When they came to a stop he looked over at her, unsure if he should say anything more. It was clear tensions were high and he’d hurt her enough that she would likely be sour at him for the longest time. “I know why you stand by your brother, it’s why I stand by Damon. But just letting him to do whatever he wants because he is your brother does no one any good. I can’t change your mind about Elena, but if you think what your brother is doing is right, I’ll figure it out with Damon on my own.” The most sincere words he had the entire conversation. He didn’t know why she was helping or how it was even going to go once he set his sights on what he assumed to be the other sister he hadn’t quite had the chance to meet yet. But Elena mattered more than all the other things.

There was a fire burning in the originals tum and her eyes glistened with tears, but his words left her no choice and finally she bit back with a strong conviction. “I’ve lived a lot longer than you, Stefan Salvatore. I have stood at my brother's side when no one else would and I have also been the sole driving force to see his ultimate demise, but if there’s one thing I know to be true; it’s that no matter how vehement the efforts you make to fix those you love becomes… Change has to come from a desire within yourself to be something different and so far as I can tell your brother hasn’t learned that lesson just yet nor does he believe that he’s worth more than what Elena’s put the both of you through over the years. So if you want to go and waste all of your energy to help Damon anyways, have at it. I’m not going to stop you, but I won’t have you criticizing the way I choose to deal with Niklaus either. I know that he’s not always been a good person and I will no longer make excuses for his current merciless actions towards Elena though I’ll have you know Hope’s given Nik that of which your brother lacks. She’s given him a reason to want that change within himself, Stefan, and you can think whatever you want of me for believing that but I refuse to wholeheartedly trust he’s doing this out of greed for a family he’s given up on years ago.” Cheeks freshly dampened with salted tears she’s wiping away seconds after they’ve fallen “How dare you be so bold as to claim that my relationship with Damon is somehow inadequate and then in the same breath go on to further speak of my brothers as if you’ve known each of them personally for centuries! If you honestly believe that we’re all the same then you do not know any of us at all. Maybe you did once, some of us more than others; at a point, but when a said amount of absence has come to pass between our families as such it’s hardly reasonable to assume that any of us have remained the same… and my luck, as you put it, has come from that of selfish parents. We’re undoubtedly nature’s greatest abominations and for that alone the Gods have decided to punish the lot of us… and for your information; I do care about others, Stefan, perhaps I could have even found myself enjoying Elena’s company more frequently before the deceit that came in the form of a dagger while my bloody back was turned.” Whenever the original sister became overwhelmed by emotions she painted a clear picture of just how deeply she was affected by whatever’s gone and gotten her bothered. Ignoring his next comment she gave a firm shake of her blonde locks “You’re putting words into my bloody mouth again, Stefan.” Rebekah knew that being used as a pawn in Nik’s games was even worse than being put down by his damn hand. Permanently or not. It had always been traumatic when Klaus deceived her for his own gain and it’s what led her over the edge on countless occasions. “Just stop already.” Whooshed off towards where Niklaus was holding Elena captive against her will she thought on what a fool she’d been. It appeared that her brothers had been right to hold the capabilities she possessed so lowly, but as the cool air dried former tears she blinked away what lingered behind and stung at her eyes during the fast paced movement. Once halted the original didn’t bother to shift her attention when he began speaking, but rather she just listened and tried not to really think hard about the repercussions of her next actions. “What do you suggest I do then? Spend an eternity fighting a battle that I’ll never be able to win instead?” No more words had been exchanged when she caught a glimpse of Freya.

Instantaneously the original was at the witch's side “Freya, Stefan… Stefan, Freya.” presuming of course that he’d followed along. Freya gave a simple nod before speaking “How do you suppose we’re going to get in there?” Rebekah’s lips curled into a tight smile “I’d have figured you to know your part in that already, love, call Audra out and convince her to let us in.” Freya shook her head disapprovingly, but regardless she’d done as Rebekah asked… Though it wasn’t as easy after the second witch appeared. “What is this?” The one called Audra questioned. “I’ve already done as Klaus has asked… Now leave me alone!” She tried running back into her residence, but Freya had gone spelled it to make an escape impossible. “Relax, darling, we’re just here for the girl.” Rebekah said zooming up on the witch as means of intimidation. “If you go and fetch her for us and we’ll be on our way without trouble.” Audra was shaking fiercely. Bruises covered the girls skin which indicated her involvement wasn’t much of a choice either… Disappointing. “I couldn’t even if I wanted to.” She finally spoke, and Freya’s eyes narrowed. Rebekah licked her lips and looked around somewhat anxiously “What do you mean by that,” the original questioned, but for oddly enough she already had an inkling on it. “She’s gone, Klaus took her when he left, I don’t know where… Please, let me go.” Rebekah breathed out heavily and turned back towards Stefan. “Oh goodie, what are we to do now?” Both arms crossed firmly over her chest before her eyes settled on a movement in the wooding. Nothing less than an entire rescue squad emerged from the bushes and Freya questioned before Rebekah had a chance to explain. “Who are you two?” Before either could respond Rebekah chimed in. “Damon Salvatore and Caroline Forbes, this is my sister, Freya, proper introductions should wait until we find out where Nik’s keeping Elena. Come on then, Freya, start with the locator. I presume you’ve got something that she can use, yes?” Rebekah’s eyes shifted to meet Damon’s and she wore a disgruntled grin.

“Do you really? How does one even dance in a sexy manner to jazz?” Taylor found herself asking in complete earnest. She was honestly curious as to how that was possible. Taylor’s comment about Bon Jovi was nothing short of a compliment really. In Taylor’s eyes Rebekah was the ultimate perfection standards for women. Most girls would kill to have one trait that Rebekah did, for all of the above god only knows. So, the blonde flashed her best friend a small smile. “It’s past that restaurant you like so much.” Taylor rolled her eyes. “Though I think you prefer the wait-staff rather than the food.” She teased.

“It’s more of subtle kind of sexy,” Rebekah explained with a shrug of her shoulders. “Oh goodie, perhaps afterwards we could go there for a bite to eat.” The original winked and gave an earnest laughter “That handsome waiter should do me right for a fill,” It was more of a tease than anything else, but after getting worn out getting a fresh drink would be preferred. “Wouldn't you say?”

Not ready. Not for human interaction, at least. Sam wasn’t really exercising the trademarks of a hunter. Like, for example how a hunter should at least try to be alert and pay attention to his surroundings which, yeah. He was failing at and failing miserably.

It was just that New Orleans had such a fascinating history. Not just dark and demonic forces or shady activity because every major city had that. New Orleans was more. Warring factions, rival clans of species and special, foretold births and deaths. Like something out of a movie or even a holy book. Sam’s research lead him to rituals, spells and even some mysterious symbols but it hadn’t lead him to what he was looking for. Answers.

Even without those answers Sam was mesmerized by the knowledge, it was just too engrossing to look away from. So yeah, not ready. Not for anyone looking for conversation. He looked up from his laptop, confused, “Uh, book?” Because what? But then he realized it, “Oh, uh. Heh, no.” He was a guy sitting alone in a coffee shop, staring intently at a laptop and typing his heart out. He probably looked like one of those douche bags who plug away on their device at Starbucks so everyone can see them writing their novel or screenplay, “Not a book, just…" 

Sam snapped the laptop shut, nervous was his middle name because he didn’t come up with a good cover for his activities in case someone tried to chat him up because, yeah. Nobody ever tried to chat him up. So he just said the first thing that came to mind and he said it fast, "Book report. Ah, I mean uh. Report. About a… book. Yeah, that was awkward, wasn’t it?”

The youngest Mikaelson sister had been so conflicted these last few days, but gathering the courage to go and speak to someone other than a familiar after everything that happened between this year and last was something of a shock. If she hadn’t been so prideful a thanks would be owed to her bold waitress for even suggesting it though it appeared unlike her previous assumptions the man had been rather uninterested in conversing. Something that could instead warrant a reprimand for the waitress, but still it felt nice to be in his company. “Oh, my apologize for being so presumptuous. It’s just… You looked so enthralled and the mythologies you seek are usually common searches for those writing novels and whatnot.” It was apparent that she caught him off guard, but while her own suspicions could have been on overdrive after seeing his search engine Rebekah mostly allowed the less sinister thoughts into play because of his genuine nature.

“Do you attend the local university?” Rebekah found herself curious, but the manner in which he spoke had her feeling like somewhat of a different person altogether. No inner voice of the elitist bitch inside herself could be heard and there was a contagious smile graced on her features. Being around humans always made her feel one of two ways… Right now, Rebekah felt as one and she played on it expertly just as she has in the past. “Or uh, well… Is it more of a hobby type ordeal? You look awful young to be teaching students and preparing reports for colleagues.” The original commented with a lick of her lips as she found herself shyly backing away from where she’d once leaned so confidently. This was definitely awkward, but she found confirming it to be as such helped somewhat make it less than she’d originally thought. “Yes… I suppose it is. Though it’s probably my own fault honestly… I tend not to notice much until it’s far too late and I’m probably bothersome mostly, but I’ve been thinking on college myself recently so if it’s not much of stretch? …I’d like to sit and talk awhile.”

“— I mean, unless… You’re probably busy and what have it.” More assumptions made and Rebekah was starting to feel overwhelmed herself which had been a rarity. Blush dusted across her cheeks before she went to leave and nearly found herself stumbling over her own two feet.

First it had been Elijah and his shady behavior, now his own sister took it upon herself to foil his plans with the help of a Salvatore. Family picking sides with outside sources, keeping things hidden, and getting in the way. Maybe it was time to pull out the daggers and set them all aside again? “Rebek’er, oh wonderful.. So you know why i’m in your company then,” a small smile of irony before his brows furrowed, forehead creased in utter aggravation. “Hanging around Stefan again are we — what empty promises did he give you this time in order to have you as a helping hand in retrieving his epic love? Hand picked flowers, or a simple set of words, tell me sister,” he threw his hands up in the air, waiting for something to be said. Rebekah and him, as close as he could get with a sibling, Elijah and him had their falling outs, but when it came to his sister. It stung all the more. Habitually she took his side, but it seemed the Salvatore’s had beat him out. “Still so blinded by love, pathetic really,” he would personally have to chat with Stefan about this little indiscretion.

It hadn’t taken a rocket scientist to figure out why Niklaus had sought her out, but she would be willing to admit that she was surprised by the fact that he hadn’t yet run her through with the dagger and stashed her away in the bloody coffin he kept for her on standby when she managed to disappoint him greatly enough.  “Well then, have at it brother. I’m not in the mood to sit around chitchatting about my past sins nor the current traitorous actions I’ve displayed towards our family when so often the judgement you show is merciless regardless of reason.” Rebekah breathed out heavily before giving a shake of her blonde tresses “Stefan has nothing to do with it, Nik. What’s the matter with you?! Elena is of the past and should be left as such… We cannot afford to have our bonds shaken right now. Not with Katerina back from whatever hells she was sent to! Elijah’s already on the outs.” The blonde original tried desperately to convey how she was feeling without being so bias, but it seemed to be pointless just as it had been when she had attempted to get Stefan to an understanding. Perhaps the two had to work out the kinks on their own and until then it would be impossible to speak on the matters civilly “You’re wrong! It’s not unreasonable to believe that you’d be willing to replace the lot of us after you’ve created yourself a better family… One more capable to cater to every whim and demand you see necessary without regards to the consequences. I know you can trick yourself into believing all the evil you’ve ever done was protect those you love, Hope; included.. though seeing as it’s obvious that you won’t ever trust us again how long will it be until you’ve convinced yourself that it’s required to put down your daughter for safety purposes? I’ll not let that happen, Nik.” Right about now Rebekah was feeling foolish for having sided against Elijah. The need to find him and sort out their differences was strong, but his former allegations left her to believe maybe she was just as blinded with her feelings towards Stefan as she’d presumed Elijah to be for Katerina. Which brought her to feel that Niklaus was justified to do as he’d always done although it would never be admitted out loud. “I must admit I’d have figured you to be the one to sour my bloody mood long before Elijah had, but no matter… I’m done being treated with no respect by the lot of you. Do what you will.”

“Yeh, I honestly don’t recommend Gods. Usually, they tend to beat you until you’re blooy and they’re out of their mind,” he said then, shrugged and reconsidered. “I mean,you know, not in a good way.”

Spike glanced up at Rebekah’s comment about siblings,“Nah, I was an only child, you can tell from my self entitlement, but I belong to a certain line of vampires– Guess you could call us family, Dru always thought us of that way.”

He recognized the snipping defense mechanism. He had perfected it on many occasions. Something he’d said had upset her down deep, so he merely nodded, “Yeh, lead the way.”

“I’ll remember that should I ever happen upon some Gods,” Rebekah said with a raise of her brows and that slightly worn smile on her face. “So far it seems I’ve gotten lucky.” Not that she could be killed by anything but the white oak.

“Right, I shoulda known as much,” She teased with a playful roll of her eyes. The way Spike explained his family reminded her briefly of Marcellus. Every single one of his day walkers had been considered one of his family and he treated each with respect. Not that she was certain that the leather clad man had done the same, but it made her fancy the idea of a family you could choose. “Have they all gone off on you?” Just because you picked said family didn’t mean they couldn’t upset you though. Often times Rebekah found herself more furious at Marcel than all of her brothers combined, but she was an over reactor mostly when things didn’t go her own certain way.

Rebekah didn’t say another word as she turned and headed off in the direction of the Lafayette cemetery. Further respect had built when Spike hadn’t challenged her mood, but it didn’t help blow thoughts of his daunting words from her subconscious mind. There would be no light at the end of this lifes tunnel. No love would be found and she would end up spending her days in Niklaus’ miserable company forever. It was something that one day she’d just have to admit and move on from, but she had an eternity to be displeased about the fact so until then she wouldn’t bother with being the bigger person. “Hold on a second,” the original explained upon their arrival before making sure no one had been inside. “Come on now love,” Rebekah gestured hastily from inside the tomb. “It seems Davina’s long since gone and if you stand around outside here for too long another witch might chant up something nasty.”

Rebekah had just finished pouring herself a glass of bourbon when Niklaus walked in and soured her mood instantaneously. It was always a win lose situation between the two siblings, but mostly because of her indiscretions. There was a part of her that actually felt badly about what he’d done to Elena though she’d never let herself admit it aloud. Rebekah had always been more empathetic than her brothers and there was still a lot she had’t known about Freya. Blind trust often led to infrequent questions in regards to lost truths. “Nik,” Sigh escaped hoarsely as the glass was brought to her lips and she downed the drink within the matter of seconds. Gulped down with a hard swallow before she knocked the glass on the counter and looked towards the original hybrid bastard. “Have you come to chastise me for aiding in Elena’s deliverance?”

“Well..maybe Hope can do something about it.” Taylor suggested with a small head tilt. “I mean..she is his daughter, probably has more impact on what he does than you or your siblings do.” The blonde shrugged one shoulder as she was not entirely sure what else to say on the matter. But she was worried about Elena..she couldn’t help but be concerned. Though she pushed it to the back of her mind. If she focused on it to much now she would ruin her good mood. “True but you can’t really dance sexy to jazz Bex.” Taylor pointed out with a gentle smile as she tried to steer away from the dreadful topics they were under. “I don’t know why I can see you being a Bon Jovi fan.” She smiled at the thought of it. “I mean that one song could easily describe you with every man you meet.” Taylor murmured as she climbed into Rebekah’s SUV. She was humming a few verses of ‘You Give Love A Bad Name’, while buckling her seat-belt.

“I don’t fancy altercations between a father and his daughter, but if Hope tried convincing Nik of anything that’s exactly what it would become.” Rebekah said matter-o-factly. “Perhaps you’re right though I’m wary of it.” The original didn’t wish to speak further on it so her mind pushed off thoughts and she focused on more frivolous ideas. “I beg to differ,” Lips curled into a smirk as she was brought back to the time in which she’d first met Stefan. The intimate dip on the dance floor that made her fall even more quickly, head over heels in love with him and then April’s voice snapped her back. Words reminding her of another time shared with Stefan and she completely missed the slightly rude comment. “Who isn’t a Bon Jovi fan? That man has got real talent,” Rebekah sighed. In all her years Stefan was the first to make her feel wholly accepted; undoubtedly it was this ability Nik held onto during the centuries as well, but regardless it was just done so naturally and that stupid high school dance was phenomenal even though no one else was there. “Hayley might just have to do that then. I mean have you ever seen the show two and a half men? It’s clearly a point men can’t handle children. Let alone a teenage girl.” Taylor was shaking her head at the absurd thought of the whole ordeal. The blonde was quiet as they walked through the compound out to the array of fancy cars. Listening to Rebekah she tilted her head to the side, small smile on her  features. “It’s a bit different, you have me now.” She shrugged her shoulders, not sure if that truly made a difference but regardless it didn’t matter. “Modern.” Taylor chirped in to the question from Rebekah’s lips. “They play good music from what I’m told. Unlike some of the crap you hear around town. I’m sick of pop and jazz.” She exhaled. “I’m in dire need of some good old rock and roll.”

“To be fair, Nik’s doing a fine job. It’s his temper I’m worried about mostly and ours combined makes for a bad explosion. ‘Lijah does well to level us out.” Rebekah explained with a frown. “Unless I go and mess it all up for the lot of us,” Which is frequently spouted from Niklaus, but regardless it never hurts any less. “I know, but sometimes it would be nice to actually get some appreciation from this damned family instead of the cruel judgments. It’s like my brothers have all but forgotten that all of us have been hunted by our father over the centuries and have been more so affected by our mothers desire to see us dead.” Maybe it’s punishment for not giving Elijah damn near enough credit for the strength it takes to truly hold the Mikaelson siblings together. “Jazz is mostly all I fancy,” The original responded with a soft breath “In the spirit of moving forward though, some rock and roll might do me a bit of good.”

Stefan wasn’t naive enough to think that the two of them wouldn’t find themselves in this little mess eventually. Nothing about the Mikaelsons was easy. He just didn’t think it’d be so soon, not allowing anything to be peaceful within the moment. Or any moment. Rebekah knew her brother, but Stefan thought he knew him, too. He wasn’t around for the past two years, but old habits died hard. His brother proved that. “And that’s supposed to make everything he does okay?” He could understand, as much as anyone in his position could, that being there with the family shame, as she put it, would cause him to act out. But the hybrid army was not something new. It was something that he would raise just because Elena was there and Elena was human.  He couldn’t see any other way around it and if Rebekah thought he would then she didn’t really know him as well as she thought she might have. Stefan shook his head with an annoyed look upon his face as he looked at her. “You’ll excuse anything for him.” That was a declaration that was just as true as anything she might have said. It wasn’t like when it was with Damon, where Stefan held him accountable for his actions. “You don’t know anything about Damon.” It was harsh and he said the words just to bite back at her. That was the thing. When things were good they were good, but when it came to their respective families nothing was good. Stefan knew Klaus because of time spent together, but he didn’t think because of Rebekah sleeping with his brother she knew anything. Like how deep inside of Damon there was a real person who didn’t just right everything off because he could. Even the way he was moving through New Orleans destroying body after body. It was to prove some point that he was evil. It didn’t make sense to Stefan and all he wanted was to pull him out, but he wasn’t trying to rule the world with it either. He was certain that with the hybrids, Klaus would do whatever he could to control everything around him. Including Rebekah. She was always too blind to see that. Did she think that if she did something he didn’t like it would be any different than before? That whatever happened with his child softened him enough to not slip into the paranoia and delusions that would destroy them all? It was stupid, frankly. Maybe he could admit that he changed, but to think that he would be a good person and do nothing. That was foolish and for all the things he ever thought about Rebekah — foolish never made the list. Until he was standing there before her, at least. “Should I just leave her to die?” He knew her insecurities but couldn’t bring himself to comfort them in the moment. He didn’t love Elena and in the moment, there wasn’t time to worry about that or what Rebekah thought about it. Even if he was certain Klaus wasn’t going to kill her, he wanted to use her. “If you would leave someone you once loved in the hands of your brother then stay here.” It was a challenge and his tone made no mistake. While he was certain he knew Klaus, she definitely knew him better. Reluctantly, he thought he would do it with just about anyone. Even Katherine. It was just his nature and that was another thing neither would ever be on the same page about. The fact that he just couldn’t leave people behind. How many times had he stood by Damon because of that? It was more than just him being his brother. “No, you don’t know how to be selfless.” Of course it was going to be for her brother. He couldn’t be picky with how she chose to help him. Otherwise she would just stop helping him altogether then probably leave him there. Certainly it wouldn’t take long for Damon to find his way there and well, Damon and Klaus sounded as if it was going to be a bad idea. A very bad idea. He had no limit when it came to Elena and would do anything to save her. How many times had they both found themselves in situations where they almost got themselves killed for her? Too many to count. “Lead the way.”

Rebekah obviously couldn’t portray her feelings appropriately. Maybe it was that Stefan didn’t care because his depiction of Klaus was set in stone, but regardless one thing remained true… Neither would shake on the subject too drastically. “I didn’t say that.” Bitter words caused a strong distaste in her mouth and she was unable to rid herself of it. Klaus has deceived Rebekah thousands of times over the centuries, but she has done the same. Stefan had, too. It wasn’t fair that she was being attacked for wanting to believe in the best when the younger Salvatore would have done the same, right? Hadn’t Stefan countless times chosen to believe in the good that Damon possessed. How was it different? There was a hypocrisy the blonde original was incapable of understanding, but she didn’t even want to anymore because this conversation wasn’t going to do any good and could potentially get them both into trouble considering they hadn’t moved from the compound yet. “I’ll do anything for my brothers, and I expect the same of you. I thought we’d already gone over this bit!” Rage filled her voice as the original choked down threatening tears. “I know enough,” Venom clicked off her tongue as she spoke and she was seconds away from saying something that she hadn’t meant. “We spent an evening together last week and I set him up with a friend of mine. Figured it would leave you with less of headache if Damon was to whine in her ear for a while or what have you, but I won’t go and do you any more favors. It’s clear you’re not appreciative and perhaps you shan't be what with my ignorance to your brother or whatnot.” If the original had proved anything it was that she was far too damn trustworthy, but she wasn’t stupid and judging from the look on Stefan’s face solid proof would be required to change his mind at this specific juncture. Rebekah had known Niklaus hadn’t transformed into a saint overnight. That hadn’t been the point in her argument, but Stefan couldn’t seem to grasp that for whatever reason and perhaps that’s what made the stubborn original dense. Rebekah was clouded by the need to keep her family as one and his negative comments just chipped away the weak foundation. It made her wonder how Elijah had done it for so long and she gave him kudos despite knowing that after their argument she’d made an enemy of her elder brother, but it didn’t appear that she was going to just stop with Elijah. Not after her emotions for Stefan got tossed into the mix. “You know better than I do that Nik isn’t going to kill her, Stefan. What is the point in throwing around those accusations?” Sympathy, but how could she be sympathetic towards someone that she cared nothing about. Rebekah had done it before and she could do it again… Not easily, but regardless if she truly cared anything for Stefan she would put aside the fact that Elena was a literal backstabber and wouldn’t refuse to help whenever he came asking. That’s how friends worked, right? There shouldn’t have even been reluctance and the fact that she was sticking up for Niklaus after everything the two managed to talk about before the lights went down — it probably repulsed the younger Salvatore. Which made her feel remorseful and possibly even somewhat apologetic though she wouldn’t dare admit it because she believed whatever his own intentions proved to be what he asked was too much of her for various reasons. “I never claimed to be.” Rebekah spat back defensively, but it had become clear as day that Stefan’s words had left a lasting mark. Not only did her insecurities about the raven haired doppelganger eat her alive but she was also scorned for not having been morally good enough for his standards, and she was sure that once they’d gotten their Niklaus would make her feel ten million times worse about it. “Do try and keep up,” Rebekah said with a click of her tongue before speeding off. The physical anxieties stirred in her stomach and she didn’t much feel like talking anymore until they’d gotten there. Without proper knowledge Freya agreed to help and thus the witch should be standing outside upon their arrival.

Spike lifted a scarred brow and shrugged again, “Like I said, we don’t notice much, mainly because we’ve never had all the magical power. Well, without a soul, it’s not much different really. Got the memories of the lives we’ve lived, just no guilt about killing anyone. It’s not like they hand out souls all that often. Curse is lost to almost everyone, but one particular witch, and no other vampire’s bothered to want their soul before.”

He let out a snort, “Yeh, we heal quickly.  I mean, not instantaneous or anything, but faster than any human. Got tortured by a God once, that took a few weeks to get back to a hundred percent.”

When Rebekah pulled out the plastic, he smirked at her vindictive nature, “Few people I feel the same way about.”

Then she was onto a new question and he nodded, “Yeh, I did, but not for any good reason, other than I couldn’t physically kill people anymore. So I just wanted to kill something, and demons didn’t cause a skull splitting headache. Then I tried not to because of a girl… But I realized I’d never be whut she deserved, so I fought for my soul.”

He grew a bit quiet, not quite sure why he’d revealed that, but he hadn’t exactly spoken much about what he’d done anything he had to anyone. “That sounds good, can’t think of anywhere else off hand, and you know the city better than me.”

Rebekah scratched anxiously behind her neck at the mention of a witch. Could that spell be in their mothers possession? No way, the brat was reading far too into what he said. Why in the hell would their mother want a spell for souls? There was a nervous laughter at the thought she might want to try regaining hers, but it quickly left. “That makes sense.”

The soft wetness of her tongue slowly traced her bottom lip as she curiously blinked towards him in awe. “You met two Gods?” Rebekah had briefly remembered sitting under the white oak after she was deceived by a boy in the village for the very first time, later that boy would become her first kill, but she thought of the women Anyanka. How the two would talk endlessly for hours and the strongly developed bond of friendship that lasted even after she learned of her intentions, but the most memorable detail was that she had made Thor ( Olaf as she called him ) into what he came to be.

“Oh yeah? You have siblings, too, then?” Rebekah asked presumingly as she thought of the Salvatore’s and if their fate had been shared by the same ensnaring devil woman.

Rebekah paused for a minute and just stared at the other vampire. It was odd, but she found his commitment inspiring and it was from there she knew that she would always be lacking. When the bratty original fought to gain love it was always against her brothers and yet his seemed more noble than any of that. Kinda like— Stefan, who despite being a ripper fought hard against Niklaus’ compulsion to be the man Elena fell in love with. Love she envied even still to this day and she tried to cover it up with snippy remarks. “How romantic,”

“Yes, well, lets hurry it along then,” Rebekah said as the transaction was completed and their Po'boy sandwiches had been passed over the counter by that same smiley women. “I haven’t got all night.” Just thinking on Stefan and Elena’s relationship reverted her into a jealous raging bitch with a sour attitude and she was hardly even hungry anymore.

“Excuse me,” he huffed, “I’m wonderful when out on the town.” He raised his brows and tilted his head downwards at her, before nodding in a childlike manner. “Well, perhaps we could bring Elijah along. He would keep us from destroying the town.” She did have a point, although there was undeniably something between Elijah and Kol, some distance that the younger was unsure how to traverse. It wasn’t that he meant to be so harsh, but his sarcastic quips always came about when he was around his more stoic sibling. “Oh god, he does.” He deadpanned, shaking his head at her laugh. He bumped his shoulder playfully against hers, “Well, it’s a good thing I’m ahead of the curve then.”

Kol didn’t respond to her thank you verbally, just nodded at her with a small smile reserved for those he loved immensely, those he would do anything to help protect. He nodded as she challenged him, a mischievous grin finding its way upon his features. “Oh we will,” he promised, chuckling. The blonde original could probably give him a run for his money, if he was honest, which he wasn’t. He knew that, truly, but always found it oh so satisfying to go out on the town with her and have a ball. “It’s lively, it’s a nightclub. There isn’t a live band but it’s quite a fun atmosphere.” He nodded to her words, curious as to how the woman would know what his sister was. “Strange. I wonder how she knew,” he shrugged. “But you’ll enjoy it, I promise.”

“Wonderfully wicked,” Rebekah commented with a soft giggle. “I didn’t mean tonight, Kol. I’d be perfectly happy to indulge on the finer things and cause a bit of ruin. I just meant you shouldn’t be so harsh.” Tongue slipped between full lips as she blinked over to catch his expression just seconds before he’d playfully bumped their shoulders and brought her laughter back to life.

Rebekah gently nudged Kol to repay his earlier actions. It was obvious that her words struck a chord inside her mischevious elder brother when the glint in his eyes started to twinkle. “Good,” she responded, running ahead of him slightly. “You best prepare yourself to be beaten at your own game then, brother,” The blonde turned and gave a suggestive raise of her perfectly shaped brows. “Have they gotten those fancy black lights?” Rebekah asked with a tight lipped smile. “I figure to find myself a tasty treat first, drink until my skin burns and then dance until the sun comes up. You sure you’re willing to give that up?”
