Iara rolled her eyes and sank back into the chair with a groan. "God you lot are all just so boring. Twittering away about Megan and her shopping when Megan can't even be bothered to share any details." Her eyes narrowed as she looked over, "I bet it wasn't even good lingerie, it was probably just more boring panties."

"You don't have to be mean about it," Emily scolded Iara. "I'm sure whatever Megan bought she looks gorgeous in and if she has something to tell us then she will."

Elsa's expression was beginning to look as bored as Iara. Honestly she didn't understand why people wanted to get with their friends to talk if they were suddenly going to hold back or become shy. "Have you opened that other bottle yet Sapphire?" she called over to the red head as she drained her glass.

Megan's cheeks grew rosier as her friends suddenly started to dismiss her shopping trip and she hated being viewed as boring. "Fine, it's a third date and we haven't done anything really so far but I wanted to be ready in case." She turned with a smile to Emily, "And thank you Emily, I certainly hope they feel the same. I've gone a bit more.....revealing than usual but I had to with the dress I'm wearing but I hope my risks pay off."

Sapphire had to work hard not to roll her eyes at Megan's excitement. Happy for the distraction from Elsa she opened the new bottle and poured the blonde another glass. "Anyone else want some of this? Shall I open that white as well?" She glanced over at Megan, "I'm happy for you, honestly."

Eddie was not surprised to hear that Lily had become very demanding. While he would never mention anything directly to Daniel he had always felt that she had an edge to her that demanded attention so the whole 'bridezilla' attitude seemed to fit her quite well. "I've never been married or engaged so I'm probably not the right person to give advice about this but it strikes me that it's like any kind of project. This is the budget, these are the non-negotiables and how you spend any money beyond that is your choice but there is no more money. That way she's in control or at least thinks she is and you get to keep some money." He thought for a moment, "I'd probably also make sure I had a couple of thousand for emergencies and overspends that she knows nothing about! Otherwise you know she'll include it in her spending."

Daniel sighed, rubbing his hand over his face. "I'd love to think that is all it would take but I feel as if Lily has lost all sense of finance. Although I do like the idea of hiding some money in another account that she knows nothing about. I might try that, although it could be too late." He lifted his drink to his lips and took a swig before speaking again, "God, I really hope she goes back to the girl I love after the wedding or this is going to be a horrendous mistake."

Eddie bit back a smirk as he heard Daniel's complaints. It seemed that Laura was certainly putting him under pressure. "At the risk of stating the obvious, have you actually reminded her how much everything costs? Maybe she's just got caught up in the excitement and forgotten that someone has to pay for everything."

Daniel took a large gulp, shaking his head at Eddie's defense of his fiancee, "No, I really don't think it's that. I would understand if she has just got a bit caught up with a few extras or a couple of people to add but this is getting ridiculous. Honestly I think she's fallen down the bridezilla hole and she's got into the 'it's my day' headspace. I don't even think she remembers it's my day too! I swear it's making me rethink everything."

"Right here Elsa," Sapphire replied as she lifted up a fresh bottle of wine. She had to refrain from rolling her eyes at Megan and Emily again. "That sounds ....cute," she remarked with a small, sneering smile at Megan as she walked past to fill up Elsa's glass and just topped up Iara's while she was there. The three of them were definitely going to need a lot more alcohol is this was how the evening was going to go!

Eddie had barely unbuttoned his jacket when Daniel had dashed to the bar so as his friend came back with drinks he was still no wiser what was happening. "Talk me through it," he sighed as he lifted his glass. "What did she do?" The this time part was simply implied.

"What did she do? I'll tell you what she did!" Daniel huffed as he downed half his drink before he spoke any further. "She practically doubled the number of people she is inviting to the wedding. Not just the evening part either, she wants all these randos at the entire thing including the meal. Does she not realise how much every plate of food is costing? Does she think I'm made of money?"

"Why are they always so petty about everything?" Daniel huffed as he sat down on the chair. He practically threw the pint at his friend as he lifted his glass taking a large drink. "I've a good mind to just call everything off!"

Emily smiled brightly at Elsa as she defended both of them. "Exactly," she muttered, even though she knew she was the odd one out of the group by being happily married and it was a stable relationship.

"This is all just getting boring," Iara began to complain but then Sapphire started to speak and her interest was peaked. "Oh yes Meg, exactly what sort of present shopping were you doing because my mind is going in all sorts of directions!"

Megan's cheeks suddenly grew bright as she was called out by Sapphire. "Don't all get excited. It was just some lingerie shopping. Sapphire is making the whole thing into a bigger event then it needs to be."

"Hmm, are you sure about that?" asked Elsa, sitting up straighter and now interested. "Because that's some rosy cheeks Meg and no one buys expensive lingerie without a reason to wear it."

Sapphire's grin spread across her face as others started to comment on Megan's shopping trip too. "Elsa is so right Meg so who is the lucky person? I'm starting to think you have been holding out on us."

Sapphire stepped back for a moment as she watched Jacey's reaction. While she adored gossip and drama she didn't enjoy seeing her friend so upset. Slowly she sat down and waited for a few moments before she spoke. "I can't answer that. What I can tell you is that you need to speak to Ali." She looked over for a second before she continued, "Maybe think about what you want first so you go in with some sort of plan. Or at least that's what I've learned from past experiences."

It was hard to sit there and listen when really she wanted to jump up and smash things but then the whole conversation had been a challenge. She had known Sapphire long enough to know all about her teasing and joking but this was different. This time she had no doubt the redhead was telling her the truth.

"Thanks Sapphire," Jacey mumbled as she staggered to her feet. "I'm going to take that last piece of advice first and go home and think about what I actually want. Then I'll speak to Ali." She felt dazed and upset and weirdly wobbly but she also wanted to acknowledge their friendship. Stepping forward she gave Sapphire a quick hug, "I know you wouldn't lie about this. I'll see you later." With that she left, unsure what would happen next but with a deep resolve that it was better to know the risk than not.

Emily smiled proudly, "I'm glad that we can inspire you. He's very sweet."

"Give me a break," Iara sighed. "No one is inspired by your sickly sweetness and Elsa, Megan is totally right. I swear I know more about your sex life with Brandon than I do about my own!"

Elsa opened her mouth to defend Emily but then Iara took a jab at her so she turned, narrowing her eyes as she did. "You are all just jealous that Emily and I have sex lives and you wouldn't know so much about mine if you had anything interesting to share about your life. Let's be real, when was the last time any of you did anything remotely exciting."

"Woah, alright time out!" Megan called, her hands forming a T shape. "I don't know how strong Sapphire's wine is but it seems to have gone straight to some of your heads. We are not going to start calling each other out."

"Hey, my wine is not the problem here!" Sapphire protested loudly. "Besides you are just worried we are going to get round to your love life Megan. Don't think I've forgotten about that little shopping trip I saw you on. Who is the lucky person you were buying for?"

Jacey felt like her chest was going to explode. Her mouth grew dry and her eyes stung. She put her head in her hands and rubbed the heel of her hands against her eyes as she tried to catch her breath. After a few minutes she lifted her head, her eyes rimmed in red and looked at her friend, "What do I do now? Is it over?"

Sapphire stepped back for a moment as she watched Jacey's reaction. While she adored gossip and drama she didn't enjoy seeing her friend so upset. Slowly she sat down and waited for a few moments before she spoke. "I can't answer that. What I can tell you is that you need to speak to Ali." Iara rolled her eyes and reached for a glass. "You are obsessed with gossip Sapphire. How about asking how everyone is first? Or asking a direct question instead of expecting us to spill our souls."

"Jeez, why are you so grumpy? This is supposed to be fun," Emily sighed. "I'm sorry to say that life is very boring and full of same old Saph, no gossip from here."

Elsa grabbed a glass and took a drink, laughing at Emily's words. "Is that really the case Ems? Are you sure you and Dave aren't out to spice things up a little?" With a wicked smile she took the glass to her lips again. "And Brandon is as much of a dick as always so little to say here either."

"But then as I understood it that was what you liked about him Elsa," Megan quipped. "Didn't you say his dick was a big attraction?"

Sapphire took a drink and just about sprayed it back out at Megan's remark. "Damn Meg, say it like it is." She looked to Emily, "And there is something very reassuring about you and Dave. It is good to know that relationships survive."

Jacey was firmly in denial as she listened, right up to the last comment. "You actually saw them....not someone said but you saw them yourself?" she asked trying to clarify and well aware of Sapphire's need for drama and gossip.

Sapphire sighed softly as she was challenged. "Yes I saw them. Look I'm sorry but if it was me I would want to know. Before you ask they didn't see me, in fact they really didn't see anyone if you get my drift."

"Here's the wine," Sapphire grinned as she handed out the glasses and proceeded to pour. "Who has the gossip to start us off?"

Jacey huffed at Sapphire and really wanted to scream at her but she tried her best to stay calm. "Sapphy, that's really not helpful," she muttered through gritted teeth. "I don't care where some blonde works, tell me more about the friend and what you saw."

Sapphire's eyes narrowed as she was called out and she let out a long sigh. "Fine, her name is Olivia and she always hangs around Wells Diner. I'm pretty sure she's some kind of artist but I'm not sure what. That's all I know." She looked over chewing her lip for a moment, "And I saw her kiss Ali last week."

"Thanking you?" Jacey replied in disbelief. The look on Sapphire's face was sincere but she had been there before with the red head and had learned that she did not always have the other's best interests at heart. "Who was she with and what did you see?" the assistant asked slowly.

Sapphire's lip curled up at the side as she eased closer, ready to share everything she had seen. "You know the blonde that works at that wine bar, the one with all the high back chairs and ultra expensive red wine? It's her friend."

"You really think this is being a friend?" Jacey turned away as she stared at her phone as if it would magically give her an answer.

"Yes of course I am. Who else is going to tell you that they saw your girlfriend with someone else? You should really be thanking me Jacey. I'm saving you heartache in the long run."
