My vintage medical/funeral/embalming collection. I’ve bought and sold a few pieces since this photo was taken, but it’s still a fun one to show off.

Howling Wolfinica of “Resurrection of Monstress Figures” from the “Yellow SubmarineAction Figure Series”
The Resurrection of Monstress Figures are soooooo gooooood-
Designs by Yasushi Nirasawa for the figures, with their accessories they come with. Each one comes with some form of set to display them with, as well-
Franken Steela comes with the sort of lab table that you often see Frankenstein’s monsters rising from
Curia comes with a large coffin that is… ostensibly her coffin, but due to posing and her wings, she can’t actually fit inside
Gilleala comes with a large seaweed sorta thing that she can connect to so she looks like she’s floating
Wolfnica comes with a sort of stage and a set of amps
Noctilca comes with, like, a segment of a witch’s hut wall
Phanteana comes with a keyboard setup with her own amps
The following two were designs for a third series of figures which unfortunately did not get produced-
Mummyla would have had interchangeable hands that could be swapped between her four arms
Cronola would have come with a motorcycle and a second set of legs that would allow you to display her riding it
I have at least one version of each of the ones that were actually released. There were a couple of colorways for each of them, iirc, as well as a clear plastic version. They are incredibly difficult to find these days, but I have a set, and I love them. I wish more got produced, but at least the ones that did exist!
I remember when these popped up in comic stores and were easy to find and I still never got around to getting any of them. They really do come with all of the things illustrated!
There was another line of Nirasawa monster lady figures not long after
“You can flick the ONE EYE MONSTER” yeah ill bet you can
“You can poke NO BRAIN with knife” me too man me too (I need him)

The long cape entirely constructed with layers of overlapping peacock feather shaped panels, each panel finely worked in satin stitch, the silk threads in tones of ivory, yellow and blue on the eye of the peacock feather, and the surround intricately worked in peacock feather filaments, with one cloth button on the collar and another near the waist, finished with Imperial yellow lining

I just discovered foodtimeline.org, which is exactly what it sounds like: centuries worth of information about FOOD. If you are writing something historical and you want a starting point for figuring out what people should be eating, this might be a good place?
