DOCTOR WHO | Dark Water
Why can’t I be like you?
Marta Kostyuk Brisbane Open 2026
Media literacy hot take and I’m not sure some of you are ready for it:
if a fictional character is russian and lives during Russia’s military aggression against another country, and the work never addresses their thoughts or position on that war in any way, it automatically reinforces an already existing space where russians are not expected to reflect on the criminal actions of their state or their fellow citizens.
At the same time, it reassures russians — through foreign media — that the world also doesn’t see this as their problem.
If you believe that giving a fictional character a stance on their country’s military invasion "isn’t important", or that “there’s no reason to bring it up” because the story is just about their everyday life, then it’s hard to expect anything more responsible from real people.
“This is just a story about the struggles of an ordinary german dude during World War II — without touching on war or nazism, because he’s just a civilian and his personal life is already difficult” — i hope the analogy speaks for itself.
So please, don’t forget: while fictional films are being made about russians, documentaries are being made about the victims of their country.
HELLO ???????

STRANGER THINGS 5.06 Escape from Camazotz
Joe Keery as Steve Harrington Stranger Things 5 ┃ Chapter 5: Shock Jock
it’s not lost on me that ppl only call steve harrington a ‘well developed character’ (which he is) or ‘the best character in stranger things’ (down to personal preference but deffo a fan favorite) when it’s about his platonic relationships with other characters (dustin, robin etc) or when he’s just by himself. but ONCE it comes down to nancy, it’s all ‘oh they could never work again because xyz happened in s1!!’ …..so his character development is fantastic and great up until nancy shows up, then its all moot. i guess. #noticing
"Music isn't the only way back. You just need something that connects you to the real world, to home. Something powerful, meaningful. Lucas, when... when he took my hand in the hospital, I could feel it. Right [in my hand], but then I could also feel it in [my heart]."
I have an extensive Stancy (+ Steve and Nancy as individuals) meta working in my head right now. I'm flexing my fingers and tapping into my old English degree vibes for the holidays.
Holidays got me busy but I’m working on a point-form version of why they have a strong chance for endgame, wanna get this out asap
Season 1 Steve was seen as nothing but a popular jock, a bit of an asshole, a bit of an idiot, told to run away from danger as if he couldn’t possibly help. He had the chance to run away and be done with all of this forever, but he ran back into the Byers house to help Nancy and Jonathan and picked up the iconic bat
Now, Season 5 Steve has come up with THE final plan to save the entire world
steve and nancy in stranger things 5: vol. 2
thank you robin, of all people, for confirming big dick steve harrington
I never would have had the guts to talk to Vic back then. I was finally cool with myself, but sharing that part of myself with someone else, that was a whole other thing. But eventually, I… I did it. You know, I told someone.
That ENTIRE fight Steve never tried to hit back at Dustin because he was angry at him he was only trying to get Dustin to stop he literally tells Dustin he’s gonna hurt himself IM SOBBING
Steve is MAD at Eddie for dying. He's mad. He's mad at what it's done to Dustin and mad he lost a friend. That fight was so well done. Dustin isn't capable of hearing those things but he needs to. He has to. And Steve is tired. How many times has he tried to talk about this to Dustin only to be rebuffed and insulted? Ugh they put two of their strongest actors and gave them the plotline of a lifetime.
