AN: It's been literal years since I've written anything that I thought would see the light of day, but the hold these messed up people have on me is ridiculous. I tried to keep Durge pretty vague, but still went with 'she' because it's how I play my Tav/Durge.
The sunlight alone told her where she’d fallen asleep last night. The Temple didn’t get any light at all, nor did Moonrise.
The next hints were the scents of rosewood and vanilla, the warmth of a body beside her, the sound of a heartbeat in her ears.
His arm was around her waist, her head on his chest.
Slowly, she sat up. It was a familiar sight now, although one she couldn’t quite say she was used to.
Enver Gortash slept peacefully—far too peacefully for a man sleeping beside a deadly assassin. He was deep asleep, not waking even as she moved, although his fingers twitched—almost like trying to grab onto her waist.
She couldn’t recall when she’d begun falling asleep like this beside him. Close, in a way people might say they were lovers. Such a stupid thought.
She had never intended to fall asleep beside him when this part of their partnership began, always leaving once they were done. Sleep came, eventually, however, and she simply told herself it was because he was much more active than any of her previous partners. He actually made her work— the audacity of it.
Still, she could hardly complain. She enjoyed the fight, the marks they gave each other. If he clawed her with that damn gauntlet, she bit him. If she held a knife to his throat, he choked her. Every slap earned a yank of hair, every hit received a kick.
Falling asleep like this, however, so close to each other… she told herself it was as the saying went: ‘keep your friends close and your enemies closer.’
Enver Gortash wasn’t her enemy yet, but he wasn’t her friend. He was an ally. A partner. A means to an end.
A means to the end.
She closed her eyes, picturing it. A world gone silent, the earth soaked red with blood, bodies piled high as mountains—all in Bhaal’s name. Her father would be proud of her then.
The Urge purred within her at the thought, already itching to spill more blood. Whatever idiot she’d killed last night before coming to Enver had sated her for now. But she’d feel the Urge again before long.
A soft sigh and a shift beside her drew her attention, as well as the Urge’s.
Enver still slept and she slowly slipped his arm off of her, instead straddling his lap. She didn’t lower her weight, just watching. It would be all too easy right now to reach out and choke the life from him. Or to stab him. Perhaps grab a nearby candlestick and bash his head in until she was splattered with his mind matter.
‘No,’ she hissed at her Urge. ‘We need him alive for now.’
Besides, she had plans. She’d leave him for last, once she began murdering the world. As a sick reward for all the work he’d put into this, for all the physical pleasure he'd brought her…
She’d drag him to her father’s altar. But how would she kill him then?
She tilted her head, watching him sleep. Bashing his head in didn’t feel right—why destroy such brilliant, genius brains? And choking left too many physical signs. She wanted him to be a handsome corpse. She could slip a knife into his heart with such accuracy it would barely make a mess. But she wanted at least some mess.
She reached out, holding a hand over his throat, hovering.
She suddenly knew how she wanted to do it.
She’d sit atop him, just like this, and slit his throat. His blood would spray over her—the final coat of blood on her skin. He’d die quick enough, but not too quick. She’d slit her own immediately after, their blood mixing as their breath left their bodies. Perhaps, she could time it just right so they’d breathe their last at the same time.
Somewhere, in the back of her mind, it annoyingly resembled a Bhaalist marriage ceremony.
She didn’t have the time to think on that, however. Lost in her thoughts, she hadn’t noticed him slowly waking until his hands were on her hips.
“I can’t say this is the worst way I’ve ever woken up,” Enver said with a smirk, pulling her down to fully sit atop him.
His smirk was met with a frown. “You’re getting sloppy.”
“If you’re awake before me and ready for round two, I must be.”
She rolled her eyes, gripping his throat lightly. “You need to sleep more lightly. Even a half-way decent assassin could have gotten in here, killed you, and escaped while your body began to cool,” she snapped. “Lords are always on an assassin’s list and you’ve got plenty of enemies.”
Enver remained unfazed, a hand trailing down her thigh while another trailed up her back. “Why worry when I have the best assassin in the city at my side?”
Her grip tightened. “I’m not your damned bodyguard."
“Which is why I have a dozen all around my home, plus inside it,” Enver said, squeezing her thigh with the hand that still wore his gauntlet, tips digging lightly into her flesh. “Besides, none of the assassins in the city would dare risk your wrath, aside from your ‘sister’.” She sneered at the mention of that brat. His smirk grew. “One might say you were worried about me.”
She growled. “I just don’t want you ruining our plans by getting yourself killed. You humans are so fragile.”
She’d lost track of the hand trailing up, not realizing how distracted she’d been until his fingers grabbed a handful, directly at the root, and yanked her head back. He sat up quickly, keeping her pressed tight against him. “Now who’s sloppy, hm?”
She hissed, grabbing his wrist. “Bastard!”
He barked out a laugh. He knew she could easily get out of this hold if she really wanted to. “Stop worrying. You know better than anyone I can take care of myself.” He leaned into her neck, taking a breath. “Everything is on track. Bhaal and Bane wouldn’t have chosen us if they thought we’d make a mess of things.”
She sighed, going still. She hated how warm it felt. She let go of his throat, her hand finding its way up into his hair. She didn’t pull. No matter how her hand itched to tear at his scalp, she forced it to just rest there. “I’m not worried about you. I just don’t want to go through the trouble of finding someone to take your place.”
“Is that why I woke up to you eyeing my throat like you wanted to tear it out?” he teased as he let go of her hair. His hands went to her waist again, resting there. “What have I done this early to cause you to want to kill me?”
“Nothing yet.” She sighed again, letting herself feel the briefest bit of calm at sitting like this with him. She barely counted three seconds before her Urge reared its head. Peace was not for her. And she couldn’t let herself grow complacent—no matter how intelligent Enver was, a Chosen of Bane could not help but be eager for more and more power. He’d likely betray her eventually, if it wasn’t for the fact that she would enact the beauty of annihilation upon the world first.
She pulled away, searching around for her things. “I’m just eager to get started today. Sitting here won’t put our plans into action. And my blades itch to sink into something living.”
She heard Enver getting to his feet. “You’re not wrong. I have my share of work to start on today. I was just finishing up blueprints when you so rudely barged in last night.”
“It’s not like you complained,” she shot back as she slipped into her clothes. “But, I could always give you something to complain about.” She picked up her belt, knives in their sheathes.
“Tempting, but I can’t very well do my work if I’m injured, now can I?” He walked over to the wash basin, wiping away the blood from last night with a wet rag. “But, be a dear and do try not to kill me before breakfast, at least.”
She watched for a moment, just watching him. The marks on his body, old and new. The slight limp from an old childhood injury that had never fully healed.
Briefly, she imagined this scene belonging to a more domestic life. The thought alone was absurd. The assassin and the tyrant—what a sick joke.
No, she wouldn’t be happy until she killed the world and the two of them with it.
I saw a post where someone mentioned they'd seen people theorize that Lilith made the cannibals and the more I think on it, the more it makes sense.
Lilith most likely has the power to have made them. In an old, but generally considered official tier list, Lilith is in the second tier from the top/most powerful, equal with her daughter, right between Lucifer and the Sins. It's been confirmed Lucifer created the Ars Goetia and the Sins made the various Hellborn species in Hell. So, chances are, she at least has the power to create a whole race of beings in Hell.
The cannibals don't act or look like Sinners. Sinners' forms very greatly, determined by their actions in life and how they died. The cannibals, however, all look pretty much the same. They're not identical, as you can tell them apart, but they all share the same features. Another point for this is that there appear to be children in Cannibal Town. Sinners can't reproduce and while I can't find confirmation if children can go to Hell or not, it seems more likely that children wouldn't go to Hell in this universe.
Rosie. There's something up with her. If she's a Sinner, how could she possibly then make a deal with Alastor to make him the strongest Sinner? Now, granted, if the cannibals/she are Sinners, if she works for Lilith (another theory) then it's possible she was granted more power than your typical Sinner, meaning she could actually make good on that deal. But if Lilith made the cannibals and she made Rosie to be their leader and be an Overlord, it would explain how she could make Alastor the strongest. And on top of that, it further explains just why Rosie is so concerned with the fate of Charlie and the hotel.

As far as I recall, we don't see anything else like this anywhere in Hell and outside of Lilith, it doesn't seem like the family gets much respect from anyone in Hell. So, why would Cannibal Town bother? Because of course, they're going to have a statue of the woman who created them and her family (or Lilith had them put it there). The statue even seems to show Charlie when she was younger, meaning it's likely the statue was made when she was about that age. Which could also be about when the town was formed and Lilith created the cannibals.
The cannibals are persuaded to help Charlie through music. Charlie tells Rosie that her trying to express her ideas and get people to listen to her through music never works, yet Rosie grins and tells her it will in Cannibal Town. Who else used music to express her ideas, trying to uplift the people of Hell? Lilith. Of course, the people she created would be persuaded to join in a fight against Heaven by music sung from the heart (and the promise of getting to eat them). Even Susan approved by the end!
But, this still leaves some unanswered questions? Why did Lilith create the cannibals? Why does no one know or has at least mentioned this? Because Lilith never told anyone and didn't want anyone to know. She clearly had plans about wanting to empower Sinners and for them to rise up against Heaven in some way, shape, or form. Charlie says Lilith wanted to do this through 'peaceful protest', but A. I have a feeling Charlie looks at things through rose-tinted glasses and B. It's likely Lilith had other plans on the side she didn't tell Charlie about. Clearly, she's no stranger to that as she's been in Heaven for seven years off doing who knows what while leaving her family in the dark.
So, she knows she needs more numbers. What better for that than creating a whole race of beings that aren't traced to her? They just pop into Hell one day and make their town. Sinners maybe just assume a whole town got offed and they all look the same because they were all in on the same shit. No one bats an eye. And let's say Lilith creates them in the early 1900s and models them after the current time period so, again, no one bats an eye. Then they just decide to stay like that or maybe it's so set in their being, they stay living in the 1900s. Lilith makes Rosie as a special cannibal, giving her extra powers and also ensuring she can be an Overlord. Why an Overlord? Because while Lilith is off enacting other parts of her plan or being a mom, Rosie can attend meetings, hear what's said, see shifting territories, listen to them talk about numbers and soul deals. She becomes Lilith's eyes and ears without a direct link back to her. And when Lilith has to go to Heaven, Rosie is there to keep an eye on Charlie from a distance, while eventually sending Alastor in to aid directly and bring Charlie to cannibal town for help at the right time, ensuring Charlie has help while also giving her a chance to prove herself and step into her role as a Princess.
So Alastor's laughing crash out over Vox asking him to be partners was projection, right?
Like, of course in that moment he loses respect for Vox. But I wonder if there's an element of laughing at himself.
Before Vox mentioned the partnership, he seemed pretty at ease. Laughing, joking, even letting Vox touch him.
Then, Vox 'ruins' it by wanting more. By wanting something from Alastor. By making their relationship transactional.
Because for a brief moment, Alastor had a relationship that was built on mutual respect and nothing more. No one owning someone's soul. No one coming to him for protection because they stole from a loan shark and killed their girlfriend.
Until Vox reminded him that there are no friends in hell.
Hey so in the last episode when they were burning the papers, do you think since Vi would have put Powder/Jinx's name(s), what if Sevika put Isha's name in because she was the only one left who could?
Running a tight ship, Sevika doesn’t tolerate weakness or failure, which leads her to see Jinx as a liability to Silco’s criminal empire, leading to a mutual dislike between the two. Despite this, Sevika is not wholly unsympathetic to Jinx, and offers words of encouragement to Silco upon her disappearance.
I love how Sevika just stands there after murdering a guy and Silco is having a whole series of heart attacks while reminding himself to start being a bit less rude to Sevika
