One of the things I love about the family relationships in tdp, in this case Callum & Ezran, is that like, any conflict they have against eachother in those two Arcs would be about ANYTHING... except for "throne inheritance"/"bastard son" drama.

Like yeah, Callum had a *lot* of self-consciousness that he was only really king Harrow's stepson and how he's "not a real part of the royal family", and in a lot of media with this trope, the royal parent is always a distant/abusive jerk in some way in a typical "your no child of mine" style, but Harrow was a great dad and viewed Callum as his son. Callum was treated like a member of the royal family because he was in every way that mattered, With or without Sarai

So while there *is* conflict about family ties and the "am I really apart of this family" insecurity, neither of the brothers weaponize the whole "step-royal and crown prince" thing against eachother. Which imo, is super refreshing in step-sibling tropes.

When the brothers have opposing views or are fighting with eachother, it will be because of general sibling annoyingness, their father's death, etc. it is NEVER about "I hate you because you're the real son and will inherit the throne even though I'm older/I resent you because you were given everything" . Which is very neat to me since the "step sibling rivalry" trope in most fantasy shows is a bit cliche to me

To put it simply, im glad Ez will never say "I'm Harrow's son and you aren't" and Callum will never say "I should've inherited the throne because I'm older" because why even fight about that?
