on a somewhat related note, I think "He Was Some Kind of a Man: Masculinities in the B Western" by Roderick McGillis should be required reading for every cowboy enthusiast. The book is primarily concerned with 1940s B-westerns, but I think the insights apply to other westerns as well.

Like, uh, there's an entire chapter dedicated to analyzing guns as fetish objects. McGillis breaks down how guns are symbols of manhood, control, desire, repression, etc... it's phenomenal genre study.

Anyways-- lately, I've thinking a lot about the gun fetish chapter and the inherent homoeroticism of gunslinger rivalries. so... mantimer fanart!

Hey, I know that Clint Eastwood (more like Cunt Eastwood) is symbol of macho, conservative and "younger generation is weak" type of guy. BUT in my mind he is twinkiest twink that ever twinked and I can't unsee it . Macho my ass. In dollars triology he is literally just a sassy bitch (TGTBTU more like 'The bitch, the hot and ✨Tuco✨).

I don't know how to describe it differently but I like him in✨ silly goofy✨ kinda way not in "he so hot and macho" way.
