Honestly Iâm a little tired of the abortion discussion centering around child raising and such. Like, if I got pregnant today, and someone offered to adopt the child and pay for my medical bills and everything, I still would have an abortion? You know why? Because I donât want to be pregnant. I donât want to put my body through that for nine months. And I donât want to risk my life in childbirth. Fact is no one will be able to do that for me, so untimately itâs my choice and thatâs all there is to it.Â
Hey, Iâm far from the first person to say it nor am I the person that this is needed for, but PLEASE stop censoring subtitles if the original content is uncensored. If people who donât need the subtitles are allowed to process uncensored media, so should the people who do need them. Ableism isnât any better even if itâs being run through a âfriendlyâ lens.
we need to keep calling chris pratt a homophobe because if we do it enough he will inevitably get himself cast in a movie where he acts a gay character to try prove he's not homophobic, and then during the press tour he'll get asked if it was hard to play a gay character and he'll fuck up and say something like "yeah it was a huge challenge for me because I actually hate gay people" and it'll be a fuckin field day on tumblr
september is coming up so hereâs your yearly reminder to leave billie joe armstrong the fuck alone
Well of course. We donât wake him up until October 1st.
His dad is dead, just donât.
In case anyone reading my blog is unaware, this is a reference to the Green Day song titled âWake Me Up When September Endsâ a song that Billie Joe Armstrong wrote following the death of his father in September of 1982 when Billie Joe was ten years old. The title of the song references his desire to sleep through September in an effort to get some emotional distance from the death of his father.
Heâs since been open about the emotional difficulty of having written the song since many people now message him on October 1st to âwake him upâ despite the song being a memorial to his departed father.
Itâs generally seen as respectful to not try to wake him up. Let him sleep and let him remember his father in peace.
reblogging again because the end of September is coming up. leave him alone.
Reblogging as a reminder to leave Billie Joe Armstrong the fuck alone on October 1st and any day after it if your message is going to contain anything to do with âwakingâ him up because September will be over.
My hot take is that actually food allergies are a disability and more people need to realize that. The amount of research people with food allergies have to do when they want to go visit places but arent sure if theyâll have access to any food there is insane. Allergy friendly food is almost ALWAYS incredibly expensive in stores bc of all those fucking fad diets that like yoga instructors and middle age soccer moms make popular. And on top of the price, it is so hard to FIND! Almost evrry grocery store ive been to has a tiny ass allergy section that is almost always near empty. Plus what about people who donât have the money to pay 10$ for a loaf of bread? You go to starbucks and non-dairy milks are like 70 cents extra? People are definitely out there buying and eating stuff that is destroying their digestive systems because they have no other choice. I am begging people to stop pretending that catering to peopleâs food allergies is elitist and not worth is. We need to make these options openly available.
I find myself getting less and less ambitious the older I get.
When I was graduating high school I wanted to do great things and be super famous and change the world. Now I just want to hang out and not bother anybody.
âWhere do you see yourself in 5 yearsâ just chilling hopefully
She should show up at events where Prince Charles is. Give him a scare đ Watch to the end for the result!
She killed Prince Phillip
i am older than google and youtube. stop advertising to me and stop spying on me. show your elders some respect
me to my skin: I know ur trying, but try harder
The "victims" of art forgery crimes are so funny bc they're like I fell in love with this painting right away it took my breath away so I spent $12 million dollars on it bc money is no object to me but now that I know it's not by some famous dead guy I feel robbed because I never actually cared about the art itself đđ„ș
arenât all rats technically ârat bastards.â i mean they donât have a concept of marriage

I'm actually super glad we're having a conversation about this. The masculinization of black and brown women, because for years I felt like I endured this unique form of trauma until I realized other people went through the same thing too. And if there's one thing that I'd like to add to the conversation, there seems to be this misconception that this is something that starts at puberty. Like boys tell you you look like a man to hurt your feeling when that's so far from the case.
The first time I was purposefully misgendered was in kindergarten. I was constantly referred to by the masculine variant of my name, I was chased out of the women's restroom, and I had grown adults questioning what my biological sex was before I even knew what the difference was. And those behaviors persisted into adulthood because now if I present as anything less than 100% feminine, people will either compare me to men or animals.
And for myself and for many other brown and black women this is a life long act deliberately intended to humiliate, shame, and other us for the features we were naturally born with and I'm glad we're having a discussion on how harmful it actually is.]
I know itâs kind of suggesting it but this is exactly why businessmen (people) should not be politicians. Running a country is to benefit the people running a business is to benefit shareholders. Their âskillsâ are not interchangeable
Framing the USPS as a poor business rather than a public service is propaganda.
And the reason they are struggling to be self supporting is not poor management, but the republicans having passed a bill under W. requiring them to fully fund pensions for people who arenât even born yet. Name me one business that funds pensions seventy years in advance.
I also hope that everyone in the USA is aware despite being saddled with impossible budgetary standards by Republicans, having their funding slashed by Republicans, that the USPS still consistently performs better than any private delivery service. Itâs like the iconic illustration of how much better publicly funded organizations work than privately owned companies, USPS is sabotaged at every turn and itâs still the best option.
[ID: a short comic. the left panel shows a person from the waist down walking, holding a red handbag, with text reading âA person steals $2,500 of stuff from a company. Felony, up to 20 years in jail, right to vote revokedâ.
the right panel shows a businessman in a suit holding up two large bags of money, with text reading âA company steals $140,000 from employee paychecks. In most states, not a crime, grace period to reply, can still buy politiciansâ. a small bubble by the businessman reads âBonus: interest-free paymentsâ.
the bottom panel reads âCriminalize wage thief. Why do we even have to say this?â
end ID.]
âMost theft is wage theft. Meaning, the dollar value of stolen wages is greater than the value, each year, of all burglaries + robberies, shoplifting, auto theft, combined. Yet, wage theft is not a crime.â âDave McKenna
