Sirius enjoyed seeing Remus loosen up a bit but couldn’t help but notice that the other still seemed to feel insecure. He appreciated the effort though. He raised an eyebrow as the other didn’t immediately accept the offer to go home. Hearing that the other would stay for him if he wanted to continue to stay made him feel a certain type of way. He couldn’t exactly explain it but it was a nice feeling, even if it was unfamiliar. It definitely made him appreciate the other more anyway and he shook his head, “Let’s go home,” He said, “I’ve got some beers at home anyway and they’re already paid for. I’m also willing to share if you’d like to partake?” He asked, wriggling his eyebrows at the other.

The chances were Remus would never feel completely comfortable in a situation like this but he didn’t feel so concerned about it with Sirius there. The man had a way of making most of his troubles go away. His light hearted and cheeky nature was what had originally pulled him in. After the bad experiences in his life, Sirius had been like a ray of light that shone so brightly, Remus couldn’t help but want to bask in its glow for as long as possible. It was his sanctuary almost. Still, he knew that Sirius was agreeing to go home for his sake and he smiled warmly at that. The other man, despite all outward appearances, was always thinking about others first. “Alright. A beer at home doesn’t sound too bad either. And we can put on something that James hates given he won’t be in for the rest of the night anyway maybe even order in if you’re hungry?”

“That is what you’ve got us for, isn’t it? Someone’s gotta see it and if you don’t, then we will,” Sirius smiled once more. He spotted James and girl still talking and laughing the background. It had worked out. Sure, Sirius had shown an interest in her. He did in most pretty things but he also liked giving James the incentive to make moves on the girls he really wanted. He much preferred spending time with Remus though. No one would believe it if he said he’d pick the other man over a random hook-up but it was true, “I think you’ll find the mistakes I make often makes me an idiot but thanks anyway, Moony,” He replied. After about twenty more minutes of dancing, he thought it best that they go and get another drink but then he noticed that James was gone, “You want to go home?” He asked the other as they reached the bar, “Or would you prefer to keep dancing?” He added, knowing what the other would choose.

Remus smiled at that, slowly relaxing into the movements and actually enjoying himself. He didn’t mind dancing in the least but he just couldn’t help but feel extremely self conscious in the actions, his lanky limbs feeling like they hadn’t been made for such an activity. He’d not hit anyone yet though so at least he had that to be glad of. When Sirius motioned for them to go and get a drink, his face was slightly flushed, sweat beginning to bead on his forehead and he gave a bright smile, leaning against the bar. “Um... well do you want to? Or would you prefer to stay out longer?” He knew that Sirius enjoyed his nights out and he had no intention of spoiling that for him. “I’m happy to stay if you’d like to continue.”

Alec smiled to himself. Maybe figuring that whole relationship thing was not going to be too difficult. He made a mental note to repeat that as soon as he had more time in the morning. “I thought it would be a great start of the day,” he admitted. “And do let me know if you have any preference when it comes to pastries. I grabbed almost everything they had and they were surprised I’m not getting coffees for a smile army,” Alec added, chuckling. He would get anything Magnus wanted of course. If he enjoyed all the kinds of pastries, then that was what he was going to get. He reached for his coffee, taking a small sip. He couldn’t stop himself from glancing at Magnus constantly, wanting to make sure that was all real.

“It most definitely is.” Magnus was a morning person but this was definitely going to have an effect on his mood. He was fairly certain that his staff would be questioning why he was so chipper but it really didn’t matter. He’d endure any teasing that was thrown his way if it meant he could appreciate this more often. “I’m not overly fussy about pastry and will happily eat anything you’ve brought Alexander. However, if I taste one that I am particular fond of I will make sure to tell you immediately.” He half joked. “Why don’t we go and sit on the terrace? It’s a beautiful view at this time in the morning and we can get comfortable.” By that, he meant the sofa that was out there would be the perfect excuse for him to sit close to the other man.

“Well it’s nice to know you feel that way. You’re the only one who’s opinion I really care about anyways,” she replied with a soft laugh at the end, although it was very true. Pamela quirked up a brow and shifted her position as Harleen began to recount what was new at work for her. “Hey that’s– that’s great right? I mean terrible for him that he’s troubled but if you feel like you can help him I believe you can,” she looked to the blonde supportively. “You’re fantastic at what you do and I feel like you understand people better than most, not just because of your education. If you think there’s something there, I trust that your instinct is right.”

“I never know whether that’s a good thing or not. You probably deserve a more professional opinion every now and again you know. You also have so much to give, I wish more people got to experience how wonderful you are Pam.” Harleen answered honestly, because the red head could be a little hard to crack but when you did, there was so much there to love. At least in Harleen’s eyes. Her face lit up again at the mention of her work. “It is! If I can help him then that means so much to me. That’s why I chose this career path after all. I really want to help people and see them heal.”

“If I minded, I wouldn’t have offered in the first place,” he countered with a cheeky grin. “Now wouldn’t I have?” After receiving the confirmation she would indeed be willing to spend a little time with him, he got up and walked over to the bench she was sat at. Tucker offered a hand out to her to help her up. “I think I know a place you might like,” he told her. While he wasn’t made of money, there were still some nice places to grab a coffee that didn’t break his bank either. Especially since he knew he could call in a few favors with the friends he’d made overtime. “And if you hate it well, you can be on your merry way and never have to see me again.”

“Do you offer help to every poor soul you come across?” She found herself asking because he’d so quickly tried to help her that it felt like it could have been a regular thing for him. “And I don’t know you well enough to really give that question a solid answer. Maybe you’re the type of person who does things to receive things.” One eyebrow arched up as if to question this but Liliana didn’t seem to hold much concern in regards to that, in fact, a smile softly drifted on her lips when he offered up a hand. Taking it after only a seconds hesitation, she stood up and straightened herself out with a sigh. “I doubt I’ll hate it. As long as it’s warm and friendly I am sure it’ll be perfect.” That’s all she wanted right now.

“A chance to enjoy some time with you,” he replied simply. Max could understand and appreciate that Samantha had other – more important – things to do in her life besides agree to go to lunches, dinners, movie nights and mini-golf escapades with him. But he cherished any moment she could spare for him. “I know I– just ignore me,” Max shook his head. When would he get over himself and just be honest about his feelings? Not only for her sake but even for his own. He just didn’t think she’d ever feel the same and the last thing he wanted to do was ruin their friendship. “Italian is perfect,” he beamed back. “Pizza, pasta, lasagna– the possibilities are truly endless,” he added, already thinking about a spot they could go. They’d been before, considering the town didn’t have an infinite amount of restaurants to choose from, but perhaps that was all the better because at least he knew they both liked the food. “Grab a coat and let’s get going, shall we?” Max suggested.

There was something about the way that the other male said it that had Samantha pausing. She looked at Max for a moment before stepping in close and wrapping him in a tight hug. She didn’t speak or address why she was doing it, it was more because in some small way, she felt like Max needed it. Or perhaps it was for the selfish reason of her needing it. Either way, when she finally pulled back, the woman felt warm. Happier. “I was definitely more thinking of the pasta options. I do love authentic Italian pasta dishes even if it can get a little messy. She knew for instance not to order bolognaise unless she was wearing a dark top. Sam had made that mistake before. Almost bouncing on her heels, the brunette span around to fetch her coat, slipping it on and wrapping it around her tightly before grabbing her bag. “Let’s go. I’m ready if you are. You can tell me how your music classes are going as we walk.”

“Hey, cut that out, okay?” Sirius said, “You are fun. I love hanging out with you,” He kept hold of the other’s neck for several moments more. Possibly several moments too many but who was keeping track, “Don’t ever apologise for who you are with me. I love who you are,” It was only when he could feel the other start to relax that he let go of his neck. He didn’t move very far away, wanting to remain close as well as the crowds of people around them making it impossible not to be. He just wanted to give the other some breathing room, “I was talking about being an idiot in the general sense more than the dancing one but thanks anyway.”

“I know. I never could quite get my head around what you and James saw in me.” These days they were good at showing him but still, he could never not feel unbelievably lucky to have fallen into the friendship group that he shared with the pair. “I see it more these days thanks to the both of you.” Because as much as he appreciated all the sweet words and compliments Sirius was bound to back it up with, he still found himself getting a little embarrassed when they showered him in praise so he’d rather avoid it where possible. The lack of the others hand on his neck was actually a little disappointing but he didn’t mention it, continuing their dance and trying not to worry about making a fool of himself. “Mhm... Well either option... sometimes you do foolish things but that doesn’t make you an idiot in my eyes. It’s just human nature to make mistakes.”

His face scrunched a bit as he looked back to her. “You don’t have to be that well spoken to be in those places. Despite what seems to be some people’s beliefs, we aren’t as snobby sounding in our words as we are with our actions.” He commented. “However, maybe one of these days I’ll have to take you to one of those snobby places. Show you how it’s really done. That way you might not have such a jaded idea about those places or the people who visit them.” He hated being put into a box and people assuming things of him, not that she was necessarily doing that, but it happened often for him. Especially when it came to people assuming he got where he was because of his father. “It was. I was genuinely worried for a moment there. But good. No allergies means this should go off well.” 

“Then what do you have to be?” She was genuinely curious but she felt more wealthy than she was, was probably a good starting point. “I’m sorry if I come across as judgemental about them. Maybe you could teach me better, I suppose I just always saw them as unattainable and... I happen to like my food so not having enough of a portion to fill me up is a real worry.” Belle admitted with a laugh. There was something about Adam that made her feel excited inside and adventurous, even if it was just in the simple ways. It made her feel alive and she loved that about his company. “I should probably apologise for causing you concern too but honestly, I feel as though your expression was a tiny bit worth it...”

Pamela’s gaze softened. It always did whenever she looked at the blonde but just to hear how understanding and selfless she was struck her harder than she would’ve expected it to. The redhead was often rather hellbent on hating everyone, expecting the worst since most of her experiences in trusting others had ended poorly. But with Harleen it was never like that. It felt like she couldn’t disappoint Pamela even if she tried. “Harls you– you really don’t have to do that,” she began, shaking her head lightly. “I’m just a little brattier than usual today. But please, please you can come sit and talk to me. I want to hear about what’s going on with you too,” Pam promised, gesturing to the nearby empty chair. “Food can wait. I’m not too hungry anyways.”

“It’s not bratty to care Pam.” She stated with a bright smile. “And it’s just stress because you care so much about you do. It’s passion. I think that’s a wonderful thing to have.” Even if sometimes she did worry about just how much it was affecting her friend. Harleen had every confidence the red head would figure out a way to resolve any problem she had in her path. Still, she obediently moved to take up residence in the chair that Pamela had motioned to, folding her legs up beneath her. “Well...” The word dragged out as Harleen fell into thought, finally settling her focus on Pamela. “I did get a new patient today. He’s... different.” The blonde didn’t really know how to put it. “Troubled but highly intelligent. I feel like I could do a lot of good with him if I just work hard.”

“You didn’t disturb me, honest. There’s no need for apologizing,” Tucker insisted, shaking his head at her words. “If anything, I feel like I should be saying sorry to you. I didn’t mean to intrude or anything,” he admitted, surprised that making a comment about his nosy nature wasn’t her first instinct. “Look you don’t have to talk about it if you don’t want to. Maybe I could get you a coffee or something? It won’t fix things, I know. But perhaps it could make you forget about whatever’s going on for a short while?”

Truth be told, Liliana was bone tired and completely done with fighting. It felt like a constant push and pull contest with her Aunt recently and it was wearing the girl thin. In between helping with her little brother-- on the odd occasion that her Aunt would let her within spitting distance of him, school work and the arguments, she felt like there wasn’t much of her left worth salvaging. “Well... maybe I’d be bothered about that but I’ve not really chosen somewhere private to air my dirty laundry as it were... “ She motioned around them before folding her arms almost protectively across her chest. The kindness she was being shown by a complete stranger surprised her. He wasn’t like the people she was used to spending time with but he was showing her more care than her family right now. Though a part of her felt it would be wise to turn him down and not put any more of her problems on his shoulders, the tiredness in her seemed to drop her guard and she offered up a small genuine smile instead. “That would be nice actually... if you really don’t mind?” Because the truth was, she didn’t want to go home right now.

“I’ll be honest, I’m rather astonished you don’t have any plans,” Max admitted, his smile growing when he heard her laugh. It would always be worth it to get a laugh or a smile out of her. “But kind of grateful too? It means I stand a chance,” he chuckled, half-joking even though she had just assured him he didn’t need any extra convincing to drag her out to something. “Well then it’s a date. Well not a date-date… unless… no never mind me, I’ve had a whole day of music lessons with high school children my brain is fried– I’m so sorry,” Max tried to dial himself back, not wanting to overstep and getting embarrassed. “Alright where should we eat then? Got any particular type of cuisine in mind?”

“A chance at what exactly Mr Watson?” The brunette couldn’t help but tease, shifting so her chin was resting on her palm and her attention was clearly solely focused on him. Not that it hadn’t been before of course. The more he seemed to talk though, the more it left her genuinely wondering. Though Samantha simply took it as Max trying to back himself out of what he had accidentally implied. He’d always been pretty clear that he wasn’t interested in anything like that with someone. In fact he’d once gone so far as to tell her he just tended to have women falling for him despite not intending it. “Relax, Max. Don’t worry about it, I’m not getting the wrong idea.” She spoke softly, reaching her hand out to rest it on top of his in an attempt to reassure him. “It’s not as though you have to mind what you say around me, we’ve known each other long enough to not take anything to heart.” At the mention of the type of food though, she hummed thoughtfully. “I actually wouldn’t mind Italian unless you had a place in mind. You know me, my stomach can pretty much be swayed towards any type of food.”

“Come on, Moony, just move to the rhythm,” Sirius said, grabbing the other hand and trying to get him to move a little, “You just gotta let loose and enjoy yourself. Channel your inner Sirius,” He joked. He could be dancing better but he wasn’t thinking about looking good in that moment, he was concerned with his friend having fun. When he realised his friend was freaking out a little, he stopped and placed a hand on the back of his neck again, bringing their faces close so their foreheads were almost touching, “Hey, listen, relax,” He said in a softer, more genuine tone, “There’s no how to it, it’s just moving and having fun. Just pretend it’s you and me in the flat and I’m acting like an idiot,” It wasn’t uncommon. Sirius did like to blast music and dance to it all around the apartment. 

Despite all Remus’ attempts to relax himself, it appeared to be failing terribly with the way his blood was pounding in his ears and the little movements he was managing to force his body to partake in were rigid and clearly uncomfortable to perform. It was the feeling of warmth pressing against the back of his neck, the heat of the others breath ghosting against his own face that finally got him to breathe once more. It was a shuddered first breath but one none the less. For a moment he closed his eyes, letting himself sink into the contact that Sirius provided and when his eyes reopened they looked far less like he was about to bolt. “Sorry...” Remus couldn’t help but mumble in a quiet tone. “I guess I never was the fun one...” He wanted to be but it didn’t come as naturally to him as the other boys. Sirius always seemed to be able to dig that part out of him though. At the others instructions, it did draw a warm smile to his lips, and he nodded his head, trying to force the knowledge of the fact they were in a room full of people out of his mind and focus solely on Sirius. Honestly, if it wasn’t for the former issue, he found he rather liked the idea of dancing with the man, especially now as he slowly allowed his body to relax and mimic the others actions. “I wouldn’t say you were acting like an idiot when you dance...”

Pamela was in the little greenroom she had made for herself in their joint apartment, dealing with a particularly difficult plant. No matter how hard she tried it didn’t want to blossom again and it had been causing her immense stress all week. She had barely heard Harleen return to their flat, but she certainly heard her when she popped up in the doorway. “Harls– hi. Sorry I’m just a little tense right now,” the redhead turned around to look to her roommate, trying to ease up but struggling. “Could we order in tonight or something? Just thinking about doing anything else today like cooking is only making me more stressed out,” she voiced her train of thoughts. “Sorry, where are my manners– how are you? How was your day, Harls?”

Harleen had seen how much the red head had been struggling over the past week attempting to more or less revive the stubborn plant in her care. There were very few things that Pamela appeared unable to fix and Harleen had every faith that with persistence, this would be another of her triumphs. “You’re busy. It’s understandable.” She stated simply. “If you want to order in we can or I can make the meal you know, just tell me what you want.” She offered after a moment, waving off the others concern with one hand. “Oh... my day has been fairly predictable. Anything I can do to help?”

Tucker didn’t mean to eavesdrop, he really didn’t. But when he heard someone raise their volume even slightly during a phone call, he couldn’t help but listen in a little from his spot on a nearby bench. Painfully curious, he even turned to look at the young woman sat on a different bench in the park with her phone pressed to her ear. The call didn’t exactly have a happy ending and the young woman’s expression only highlighted that. “Are you alright there, pidge?” he asked, sliding over a little on his bench to be closer. “That didn’t sound like a pleasant exchange– not that it’s any of my business, of course.”

Sometimes it felt as if there was no where Liliana could go to get away. It wasn’t that she wanted to run from her family but things were certainly more strained these days with her Aunt and cousins staying over. Her parents had ended up having to attend some family matters that had them staying away for a little while and Liliana had her studies so she couldn’t go with them. The problem was that her relationship with her Aunt and cousins was less than ideal. 

The girl had barely even registered that there was someone else in the vicinity or she wouldn’t have had such a conversation so publicly. The question seemed to jolt her into reality though and the serious, thoughtful expression that had settled uncomfortably on her features appeared to smooth out somewhat. “Oh... I... It’s nothing really, just a slight disagreement.” She attempted to explain, shaking her head somewhat. “Thank you for your concern though. I’m sorry I disturbed you.”
