Come and let's play together in the bright sunny weather. Let's go out to VSA's last meeting of the school year! We will be electing our new Executive Board for next year, forming study groups for the upcoming dead week, and enjoying some good ol' Vietnamese fun.

Annual Convention hosted by University of Texas VSA --

1 Day of 150 VSA members from 10 different schools. Filled with leadership workshops, networking, and fun was definitely worth the 6 hour drive.

We were all inspired to make VSA bigger and betterr.

Nguyên Đán, more commonly known by its shortened name Tết or "Vietnamese Lunar New Year", is the most important and popular holiday and festival in Vietnam. It is the Vietnamese New Year marking the arrival of spring based on the Chinese calendar, a lunisolar calendar. The name Tết Nguyên Đán is Sino-Vietnamese for Feast of the First Morning. Tết is celebrated on the same day as Chinese New Year, though exceptions arise due to the one-hour time difference between Hanoi and Beijing resulting in the alternate calculation of the new moon.

Lì xi is "lucky money" given in a red envelope in hopes of a prosperous years.

OU HOMECOMING 2011 - PAINT THE TOWN CRIMSON

We joined up with AASA, OUIS, Beta Chi, DEPsi, DPO, Lambdas, and Taikos for this year's homecoming. We placed 3rd overall, but 1st in our banner. It was really fun working with everyone for the Chalking Competition and painting the beautiful banner.

Tết Trung Thu - Lunar Moon Festival 2011 was a success!

A night filled with fun and laughter as we celebrated the moon at its fullest and roundest.

Our festive night was filled with Vietnamese fun due to our beautiful performers and volunteers: alpha Kappa Delta Phi, Lambda Phi Epsilon, Princess from OCU AASA, OU AASA, Tau Kappa Omega, Phi Delta Alpha, Society of Vietnamese Students, Mr. Asian OU Tuan Nguyen, St. Andrew Dung Lac Lion Dance, and Chris Nguyen for being the best emcee around!

Shout out to our dearest friend Tue Dinh from UCO AASA for finding time in his busy schedule to attend!

For those who don't know...the Lunar Moon Festival is held on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese calendar. Next year will be on September 30, 2012.

The Vietnamese Student Association invites you to join us in celebrating the moon being at its roundest and fullest! Tết Trung Thu also known as Lunar Moon Festival or Mid-Autumn Festival use to be a time when the villages rejoice together at the end of the fall harvesting season. Now, is it a time for the Vietnamese American people to celebrate this tradition with an enriched night of lion dancing, fashion show of traditional wear, competing in a lantern contest, facing painting, and many more activties!
