i don’t usually gripe about overwatch on this blog but HOOOOLY SHIT the dev team is unparalleled at generational fumbles

first of all, every single overwatch 2 redesign of an original overwatch character has been worse than the og barring one or two aspects of them, so it’s insanely cocky to suggest that the team is even capable of designing ‘oddballs’ to a level sufficient to ‘refuse’ to do them.

second of all, no one wants [guy with no shirt or his shirt open / preferably white] x28893. the most popular character in this game is deadass a hyper-intelligent gorilla from the moon. not to mention that [conventionally attractive character] isn’t much of a character at all if you refuse to write coherent lore for them.

the omnics are the driving force of the story and it’s implied that omnics are a significant portion of the population, yet we have 3 in a cast of 43 characters.

and this doesn’t even mean just body type diversity is out the window. the previously age-diverse cast is quickly becoming 20-30. they had to retcon freja’s because they wanted her to be 30 but that didn’t fit with where they placed her in the lore so they were FORCED to age her up. not to mention they have an open aversion to creating and caring for black characters to the point that it’s laughable. oh my god.

don’t even get me started on freja having arctic gear and fur as well as shorts and a boob window.

People need to stop treating the lab game mode like comp. Chill out. It's in the arcade for a reason. Every game I played, people were taking it way too seriously and shit talking our own teammates and I. What are you gaining by disrespecting your team like that? No one thinks you're cool. No one respects that. You're not contributing. Lose the main character syndrome.

I'm not really active here or in the actual game much anymore because the last thing I want to deal with in my free time is a bunch of chronically online incels bitching and moaning in *****arcade*****. Sorry I'm too busy being employed to be as perfect as you?? I don't have hours and hours every day to just sit at a desk tryharding. Screw me for wanting to play a casual game in a casual mode on my day off when I actually have the energy, and I'm not busy with paying bills or errands or housework or family obligations. It's become another joyless chore to log in and deal with these goddamn scumbags.

Video games are supposed to be fun. Not another source of burnout. If you're going to be an asshole to your teammates, in ANY mode but especially ARCADE, log the hell off, take a shower, and find something else to live for.

I try not to post like this here but I'm so fucking over the attitudes of these players. The joy is gone.
