AND Harvey learns about it through Donna (of course, how else) and it creates a parallel between this and the death of Harvey's father (my brain is evil, I know)

AND of course OF COURSE Harvey "Because this is my goddamn fault" Specter blames himself cause "All this time I didn't know you were breaking down"

naturally this idea includes calls at 3am pacing and at 5am wasted

and Mike OF COURSE doesn't acknowledge them later cause "he seems fine most of the time forcing smiles and 'neverminds'"

I'm not blind either and saying that they didn't have potential would be a stupid lie.

Do I like the realization? HELL NO. But at the same time do I feel fucking robbed even as an sns fan?

They could have been THE anime pair. The tension, the background, the history, the emotional roller coaster, the guilt and angst?

I hate hate HATE when people undermine Naruto's character traits and his trauma. ESPECIALLY when people talk about his ability to forgive.

No, u genius, it's not just talk-no-jutsu and it's NOT just a personality trait. It's a result of DEEP trauma.

Let's think for a second, shall we?

Yes, he has a freakishly big amount of empathy, true (and I'm sure that it is a result of trauma as well, but not the point). Yes, it helps him better understand feelings and motivations of others.

BUT.

His "easy forgiveness" comes from a freaking defensive mechanism. He has a savior complex AND abandonment issues. What else is he supposed to do?

He forgives, because he is afraid. Afraid of being alone, terrified of people leaving him, obsessed with almost everyone's approval (savior complex, hello!).

BECAUSE HE KNOWS WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BEING HATED AND OSTRACIZED INTIMATELY.

Of course he is gonna forgive, cause what is the alternative?

Being. Left. Alone.

And if we want to dig really down, we can assume that that is his way to lessen the pain. Cause if he can forgive, than that thing someone did wasn't that big of a deal. And if that wasn't a big deal, than it can't hurt him, of course! Look at me, Naruto Uzumaki the invincible!

Besides, if you wanna tell me that the WHOLE VILLAGE hating on him didn't leave its mark, you're either blind or foolish. I'm gonna assume again that this whole shitshow taught him that he has no right for negative emotions, especially being hurt.

So no. Naruto Uzumaki is NOT a simple character and he does NOT forgive cause he is all sunshine and rainbows.
