five times kissed (idk if this is too soon for this but I already love this ship -ownchoices

this was not how it was supposed to go. bishop wasn't supposed to be anywhere near the shopping district of heatherfield. but they were, and the tracker attacked anyway, and of course, beautiful, brave bishop wastes no time. they see someone in need, and they help. cornelia loves that about them.
the realization startles her as much as it gives her peace. she never much liked having bishop as a bodyguard anyway. despite the fact that she might've thought some stray thoughts about seducing them when she was alone in her room, late at night.
it's for the best that bishop resigned from the post, even though her parents paid them handsomely.
cornelia can take care of herself. has been doing so since she was fourteen. and she wouldn't stop now.
and maybe the tracker is smarter than he looks, because his chain is sent hurtling towards bishop and the person they're protecting. cornelia doesn't think, she intercepts the attack and pain flares across her back. she thinks her wings might either be on fire or torn off her back completely.
bishop looks up, and cornelia looks down, and briefly presses her lips against theirs.
"do you know who maria medina is? i ran into her and she gave me her card," bishop questions and cornelia sighs: "she and her partner, joel mctiennan or whatever his name is, work for the government." cornelia curls against bishop's side, eyes fluttering shut. "this is more your ballpark but i don't trust those two as far as i can throw them." bishop chuckles and presses a kiss against cornelia's head. "i figured."
bright laughter fills the hale penthouse and bishop perks up. they'd been waiting for a while. mr and mrs hale let them in, wanting to know how they were doing before departing for some sort of charity function.
the door all but flies open and lilian and cornelia walk in, laughing and teasing each other. a far cry from the animosity bishop had seen on their first day on the job as cornelia's bodyguard.
"someone had a good day," bishop laughs from where they're standing. lilian lights up and goes in for a hug before she realizes she's still gross from all her training and vanishes down the hallway, proclaiming she needed to wash the grime and sweat off of her.
"proud of you!" cornelia calls down the hallway and lilian's quip gets lost in the sound of the bathroom door slamming.
"so i take it training went well, then?" bishop questions and cornelia beams. "it went great. because she's a hale, and we hales are pretty great. besides, kadma says she's improving more and more each day." she gently pushes bishop up against the wall.
"do you wanna know what else we're pretty great at?" cornelia asks.
what starts out as an innocent kiss quickly becomes something else, something heated, and cornelia is content to let her hands roam over bishop's body, teasing, exploring until a loud retching sound reaches her ears.
"ew! that's so gross!" lilian pulls a face and cornelia steps away from bishop with a sigh while they laugh lightly.
"i bet," bishop murmurs while they press a kiss against cornelia's shoulder, "that i know what you need." cornelia hums but doesn't deign to reply. so bishop resumes what they were doing before they spoke and kisses a path down cornelia's back.
"what are you doing?" bishop asks. or attempts to ask. forming words is difficult when cornelia hale is sucking a hicky into your neck, after all. they feel cornelia grin against their skin. she halts her ministrations for a moment, all faux innocence as she says: "why, i'm returning the favor, of course."
