Happy New Year everyone! May 2026 bring us all joy, happiness, and the Good Omens finale!
Lots of christmassy and winter themed fictions this month and the trend might very well continue into January as I've barely made a tiny dent in the wealth of fictions that have been created thanks to many winter events. Big shout out to Winter Omens Big bang for bringing together great writers and amazing artists! @gowinterbang
As always, these recs will be added to the nice and accurate lists of Di-42, witch, so consider following my side blog to have themed recs always handy!Â
As always, I'll try to tag as many writers, artists and poets as I can.Â
As always, if you want your work taken off this list, or know someone who does, please let me know.Â
As always, don't judge a fiction by the number of kudos!
As always, if you can at all, please don't be shy and leave kudos and comments!
Now I hope you enjoy to hear the things I loved about
Decemberâs Distinctive Fictions
Finding Mr Claus, by CaptClockwork, @clockworkcapt @puzzl3catRated E, chapters 4/?
Human AU where Aziraphale is Santa in a shopping centre grotto and Crowley finds a job as an elf. It's really lovely to witness the immediate attraction between them and the growing bond. There might or might not be a mystery to unravel as well.
Matters Of Perspective, by @naturallyteal Rated M, chapters 3/5.Â
Tealâs wonderful gift to me for the GOFC Holiday Swap 2025. Aziraphale barges into a nightclub, determined to ârescueâ his demon from the clutches of the humans. Hilarity, sweetness, and hotness ensue. Several POVs, each of which has got its own take on the events, like the title suggests. I'm loving it!
Do You Believe In Love Afterlife? By Letha. Rated E, chapters 30/39.
Compelling and intriguing human/ghost AU which gets better and better with every new chapter. Aziraphale moves into his new shop with living quarters upstairs. It doesnât take long to realise that the shop is haunted by the ghost of the previous owner. A gentle tale of two souls finding each other with great characterisation and humour. As the story develops more layers and details are added, which I wonât spoil here, but really this is a true treat that I highly recommend!
Mine and Hogs_and_ham The Solstice Dinner, rated E, chapters 2/8.Â
Enemies to lovers human AU, full of banter and bickerflirting. Crowley is a grumpy cafe owner in Tadfield, Aziraphale is the sunny proprietor of the local inn. Needless to say, they hate each other. And are not in the least attracted to each other. As if!Â
Come and marvel at all the amazing details of Hogsâs art!
My own Just A Neighbour I Know, rated T, chapters 2/3.
My contribution for the GOFC Holiday Swap. Neighbours to lovers human AU. Just a light-hearted affair, featuring awkward flirting, pining, and two very smitten and very oblivious men.
Christmas On Whickber Street, by @deichselschwein Rated T, 15k. P. Dec 25.
I loved this gentle human AU where Crowley and Aziraphale are neighbour shopkeepers, but havenât as yet been introduced to each other. Each of them makes some assumptions about the other of course. Aziraphale assumes that Crowley shouts at his customers, and Crowley assumes that â& Coâ is preventing Aziraphale from enjoying the Christmas spirit. Luckily, he has a plan. With lovely art by hakuthemagicdragon.
Santa, Interrupted, by @thinkinginscripts. Rated T, 15k. P. Dec 25.
Lovely human AU with some very touching moments! A story about being brave and going for the things you want. Angst free, lighthearted, solid and funny (whatever the writer might say). And with wonderful art by Maon25.
Group Chat: Flat 3B, by whatkeepsusalive @lara102dt Rated T, 31k. P. Dec 25.
Flatmate human AU. This fiction is the sweetest, fluffiest, most adorably tooth rotting thing ever. Every chapter brought the sun to my day and left a big grin on my face. Crowley and Aziraphale are flatmates. If they cook together, text all day long, banter lovingly and cuddle on the sofa, certainly that's all part of being flatmates, isn't it?
What Fools Trees Mortal Be, by nineprecisely. Rated T, 18k. P. Jun 25.
This human AU is just so, so gorgeous! The humour, the banter, the wholesomeness, their vulnerabilities, their bravery! Awesome! And all the Shakespeare puns! Aziraphale has recently moved into town and goes to buy a Christmas tree. Guess who sells Christmas trees? This fic is incredibly funny and has very light-hearted parts, however it gets intense at some point, do read the tags!
One shots and short stories:Â
Christmas Magic, by @tigerseye67 Rated G, 1.5k. P. Dec 25.
Lovely and delicate in universe fiction where Aziraphale impersonates Santa Claus in a shopping centre grotto. And Crowley, of course, helps. Heartwarming.Â
The Weather Outside Is Frightful, by IneffableMoot @arlospace, @savyl Rated T, 5k. P. Dec 25.
Funny and sweet pre canon story in which Crowley and Aziraphale exchange gifts and challenge each other to a duel on Christmas day. The humour is great as always with this writer, and the art is lovely!Â
The Day Before Christmas, by @theineffableauthor , @waitingtobebroken .Rated T, 6k. P. Dec 25.
Great humour and characterisation in this sweet and light-hearted human meet cute, just as we have come to expect of this lovely writer. The art is amazing and so expressive as well! Aziraphale is about to close the shop for Christmas when a last minute customer comes into the bookshop. The cheek of him!Â
Good New, by caricari. Rated T, 3k. P. Feb 20.
Oh, the fluff and the sweetness in this fiction are incredible! Post season 1 story leading to their first kiss. Great characterisation, humour and cosiness.
Tis The Damn Season, by KiaraMGrey. Rated T, 6k. P. Dec 20.
Lovely human AU where our Ineffables meet on a train on Christmas eve. Instant connection and sweetness ensue.
All The Pretty Girls (I Have Waited), by @spectrallydistracted. Rated M, 8k. P. Dec 24.
I loved this human meet cute! Aziraphale works in a coffee shop where Crowley meets his dates. A different woman every week. If only he could work out why he's not taken by any of them! Very sweet story about falling in love and about self discovery. With the added bonus of the theme of found and chosen family in the background, to which I'm always partial.
Unplanned Niceness, by Savil. Rated T, 822 words. P. Dec 25.
Just a snippet of the lives of an angel and a demon on a random Christmas eve. Incredibly sweet and magnificently hilarious.
A Snow Job Cock-Up, by LemonTart @lemon-tart-221. Rated M, 1,2k. P. Jan 25.
I loved the silliness and the humour of this post canon, established relationship fluffy story!
Good Omens Flufftober 2025: Letters, by @angie-words. Rated G, 666 words. P. Oct 25.

A Tropical Christmas, by AlwaysBeMyBaby @alwaysbemybae Rated G. 666 words. P. Dec 25.

Harmless, by cerulen_wings @maon25 Rated G. P. Dec 25.

Elegy: The Final Fifteen, by AlwaysBeMyBaby. Rated T. P. Dec 24.
This poem revisits the final fifteen, but it will leave you with a hopeful sense that everything will be alright. And isn't it what we all need?Â
It's deep, heartwarming, touching and beautifully crafted.
