There's a plot burrow in my head labelled "Bruce turns his head off around Hal"
This man's brain is probably fried from all the fiery neurons tripping and shooting in his skull. He is almost always worried about 7 different things between the Justice League, Wayne Enterprises, and his relatively explosive kids
Then Hal comes along — Hal who is a senior green lantern and JL founder who also happens to be a family guy that's good at handling kids.
So when Hal is around?
Nope. Brain down. No more thoughts being thunk.
Bruce will make doe eyes at Hal to make him tea. He'd kiss his way into getting Hal to get him extra pillows or start the fireplace for him or take a bath with him. That man is getting PAMPERED pampered by his pet pretty boy hunk who does all the work for him
If Bruce needs to go somewhere. He's going there with no map, every shade in the world protecting him from the sun, and every pedestrian crossing on time, and he doesn't need to look up from his phone
(cut to Hal arguing with google maps, actively shielding Bruce with trees and umbrellas, and Hal having to grab Bruce from walking into a freeway)
Hal: You're one of the smartest member of the founding fold!
Bruce, in the passenger seat, napping with 3 airconditioners forced by Hal in his direction, in a thick blanket and fuzzy socks: Yeah? And I married the second smartest member. Now chop chop, fly boy, I want Bat Burger
It does help with Brucie Wayne's airhead persona, with people gushing that "Brucie Wayne's partner is such a gentleman!! 🥹 Brucie needs it, poor boy has only got 3 braincells to his name 😭😞"
And Hal will not complain, not really. He'd make a joke about how Bruce is acting counter to his better reputation, but his expression softens when Bruce groans to him about wanting a sandwhich or asks if he can dry his hair for him
For someone who takes pride in being trusted by people he loves, Bruce asking Hal for all this doting fulfills a hole in Hal's heart he'd long believed to be bottomless
legitimately have no idea what this is, set out to doodle Bruce in some alien outfit but we got this instead

Sometimes I’m sad.
And then I remember that Bruce personally sewed Dick’s first Robin costume.
And then I’m no longer sad.
Can you bless me with short Batman comics to read while I have my two days break?
All the other runs are breaking my back with how much I have to catch up with
I've recently read Batman: Sword of Azrael (1992) and I enjoyed it a lot! And Bruce gets kidnapped and drugged and tortured <3 And it's just 4 issues long!
Another one I will always recommend is Batman: Imposter, it's 3 or 4 issues long iirc and it's an elseworlds where Bruce is even more lonely <3
You can also read the one shot Batman: War on Crime (1999)
Or Legends of the Dark Knight (2021) #7-8, a very short but nice arc
Give this man a baby
Titans Annual 2025
"He's not going to want me anymore," just one of those things you read & never really recover from

Marinating this in my brain again.
Batman #600
Jason doesn't blame Bruce for his death.
Yes. You read that correctly. He doesn't.
He only got mad that Bruce didn't kill the Joker after Jason died. For taking Jason away from Bruce. Then he got mad about being "replaced", which wasn't true, and Jason dropped that resentment after finding out the truth and going through an adjustment period.
That's it.
He knows what went down at the warehouse isn't as cut and dry as to say it was Bruce's fault exclusively. Hell, let's be real, if you wanna assign blame to anybody then do it to Shelia. It's Shelia's fault.
She had the opportunity to let Jason help. He extended her an olive branch of trust and she threw him under the bus to keep her own embezzling scheme hidden. She was also embezzling money from funding for medical care for people in desperate need in a third world country. As a doctor herself. Why do people defend her?
She threw her son's life away, and her own, because she didn't wanna get caught embezzling money.
But no, we still get these bomb-drop panels of Bruce getting sucker punched by "YoU lEt jASOn ToDD dIE!!", then the fandom rallies behind it like moths to a flame as if it's some true fucking thing. As if he didn't have to make a hard choice between saving hundreds of people from being Joker Gassed and taking care of Shelia and the Joker with Jay. As if he didn't beg Jason to wait for him to get back so they could save his mother together. As if Clark didn't haul Bruce away from killing the Joker multiple times afterwards.
As if anyone who wasn't there has any right to criticize Bruce for having a sidekick when most heroes have ones too. Just because those sidekicks have powers doesnt mean they were any less in danger in a fucking BATTLEFIELD.
Donna died. Her husband and child also died. Roy got hooked on drugs when Ollie fucked off across the country for six months and didn't care to call the boy at all, then punched him in the face immediately after learning Roy was an addict and threw him out. He also never apologized for this act, Ollie legitimately thought it was the right thing to do. Hal had to be the one to help Roy out with Dinah, to find him and get him the help he needed. Hal and Dinah. Not Oliver.
Garfield was an afterthought so Steven could marry Rita, and Steven only adopted Gar explicitly because Rita required him to if they were gonna get married. They were a package deal. That was her only request. Because she loves that boy and wanted to give him a real home, a permanent one. When she FUCKING DIES, Steven became an abusive alcoholic and barely tolerated Gar's presence. He only marginally took care of Gar in name only as a legal obligation.
When Gar was acting out because the majority of the found family he lost DIED, Steven was too busy wallowing in his own self pity for losing Rita to care beyond getting pissed that Gar was acting out in the first place, and constantly disregarded Gar as a troublesome burden. They didn't start having a proper father-son relationship and begin patching up all those holes until long after the Titans came back into existence.
I don't wanna hear that Bruce is the only terrible parent figure who "let" his son die in battle. Especially when we know that shit isn't true. So many other sidekicks arguably went through much worse shit than just outright dying, and their mentor figures seemingly get a free pass because y'all motherfuckers like to nitpick. It is especially bullshit writers in the comics love to harp on Bruce's faults and decisions regarding the Robins, Jason especially, to bolster the flimsy enough morality scale increase the characters get from doing so on panel.
If Jason were to see this shit Wally and Clark pulled on Bruce in person, he'd knock them the fuck out.
The Gem in the Tags about a Sheila Lives AU would be very interesting and it’s something I’ve lowkey thought about before.
Cus I would like to think she takes full advantage of the fact that Bruce is a billionaire and is like “how could you let my son be Robin?” Even though she JUST led Jason into a trap.
So maybe she gets hush money, because she knows Bruce is Batman, and she comes back to Gotham and is just living the life, because of Jason’s loss of life. She’s like fully taking advantage of a Grieving Bruce.
And maybe after a certain point she’s able to manipulate Bruce enough into a romance with him out of their “shared love/grief” of Jason to the point where it’s kinda public.
Oh! And Dick probably is trying so hard to like her but there’s something off, and his hallucinations of Jaybin HATE her, and Alfred is abroad, so maybe he doesn’t know cus I bet he would clock her immediately.
Uhhh idk. Just imagine the UTRH confrontation adding Sheila into the mix.
Me: The end is near, it's way too hot.
Batgirl (2024): Cassandra thinks of Bruce as "Father", and she can read his micro-expressions, meaning that while he is standing as he always does, in the cowl, barely saying anything and with his bitch-resting-face, she reads him as non-threatening and comforting, when most react badly to Bruce when he is standing like this, seeing him as an asshole and putting judgement behind his stance.
Me: Maybe there's some good left.
im a weird little chud who prefers when Nightwing is drawn more generally masculine and with a broader form,,, kill me with stones

Wanted to butt in and say that, yes omg, I wish Jason's early stances on justice and punishment were more challenged in UTRH or any following story. Not bc I disagree with them (although I very much do) but bc I am a Red Hood fan and stories about characters having their stances challenged are INTERESTING!!!! Over half of Batman's best stories r about him having his beliefs challenged and critiqued!!! Conflict is good, people!!! the more internal conflicts your fave character faces the higher chances the stories become memorable and interesting!!!
Let ur fave be wrong!!! and let ur fave know they're wrong!!! - p1tufina
RIGHT???
Like War Games is my favorite Batman arc because BRUCE IS WRONG!!!! Bruce was wrong for not trusting his allies AND THERE ARE CONSEQUENCES THAT SPILL OVER TO THE NEXT 2-3 ARCS OF HIS STORY!!!! My fave was wrong and it makes him forced to reckon with that??
Task Force Z is my favorite comic for Jason because he is put in a position to lead people who are the fate he's headed for if he doesn't relent with the risk of his means for the precariousness of his ends. Best part? He's wrong there too!! AND HE ADMITS IT!!!!! And he spends the rest of the run making up for it before his mistakes consume good people and people he cares about!!!
Good writing doesn't mean exasterbating traits you WISH your char has. Good writing means your character is pushed to the limit and is made to reconcile with the best of their worst and the worst of their best!!
There's like 2 ways I wish Jason got written as and what they could possibly mean:
1. Vigilante group ops leader Jason
gods if he can revive the Outsides or something that'd be so fucking cool
ik he's geared up to lead the Teen Titans but until such time that the story resonates well then I'm not recognizing it for shit actually
2. College Student Jason
I've said this once and I'll say it again: BRINGING JASON BACK TO LIVE AND HAVING HIM RECLAIM HIS LIFE TO START LIVING IT AGAIN WHOLLY IS WHERE THE TRAJECTORY OF HIS DECENT CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT IS HEADED
character development right after his theme of how Victims of Crime deserve to be rehabilitated too and they're allowed to want their old lives back, no one can take it away from them — if Jason wants to stay in his city and come home to his family, he should be allowed to do it!!!!
he already stopped the Joker and has repeatedly expressed doing better with regards to relearning how to be a part of a family
next step is him reclaiming the other facets of his life!!! let him go back to the core tenets of being Robin!!! make him go back to school and study and get into work that has him helping Park Row!!!
HE WAS A GOOD ROBIN AND A GOOD BOY!!!! LET HIM BE HAPPY, DC, I AM IN YOUR FUCKING WALLS
