Worst Contracts In the NBA

This is by team, not which is the worst. Some of these deals expired at the end of this season. Realize that some of these players might've been worth the deal when they signed the contract but are now way overpriced.

Atlanta Hakws: Devin Harris: 5 years, $42,350,000 contract. 5th year just ended.

Johan Petro: 3 years, $10,000,000 contract. 3rd year just ended.

Boston Celtics:

Paul Pierce: 4 years, $61,333,334. 3rd year just ended.

Jason Terry: 3 years, $15,675,000. 1st year just ended (this is terrible).

Brooklyn Nets:

Joe Johnson: 6 years, $123,658,089. The 3rd year just ended (he is a great player, but nowhere near this good).

Kris Humphries: 2 years, $24,000,000. The 2nd year just ended.

Gerald Wallace: 4 years, $40,000,000. The 1st year just ended (this is really really really bad).

Mirza Teletovic: 3 years, $9,687,150. The 1st year just ended (this is terrible because they used their only mid-level exception for THREE YEARS to sign a player that doesn't get much playing time).

Roy Hibbert Fined

Roy Hibbert was fined $75,000 due to vulgar comments made to the media after Game 6 on Saturday. Fining Roy $75,000 is like fining the average American $235.94. That is just including Roy's regular season pay this season, not including any endorsements and playoff bonuses he is making.

Chris Wilcox: 1 year, $854,389 (he is being paid more but that is how much the Celtics are paying him).

Keyon Dooling: Was on a 1 year minimum contract. He was bought out for $400,000.

Terrence Williams: Made $295,238 from a combination of a ten day contract and being signed for the rest of the year. Next year is guaranteed for $200,000 if not waived on or before June 30, $300,000 for September 1st, and is completely guaranteed for $947,907 next year if not waived before October 31.

Dionte Christmas: Was waived after signing a two year contract before the first year started. He was guaranteed for $236,802 last year, and unguaranteed for next year.

Kris Joseph: Signed a two year contract. Was waived in January after making $197,799.

Darko Milicic: Signed a 1 year contract. He was waived in November but made $180,773 from the Celtics.

Shavlik Randolph: Made $264,016 from a combination of signing two ten day contracts and being signed for the rest of the season. Next year is unguaranteed for $1,106,942 but will be guaranteed if not waived on or before August 1, 2013.

D.J. White: Made $256,750 from a combination of signing two ten day contracts and being signed for the rest of the season. Next year is unguaranteed but will become guaranteed for $1,027,424 if not waived on or before August 1, 2013. 

Jarvis Varnado: Signed with the Celtics but was released 3 weeks later. He made $44,574.

Jamar Smith: Was waived before the first season after being signed to a two year contract. The first year was guaranteed for $25,000. That's all he was able to walk away with.
