I love him your honor, he’s so silly
Daily affirmations:
No one will find the picture in your attic.
It's not your fault the person made of cadavers you sew together and you revived killed your family.
It's perfectly normal to enter your house climbing like a lizard.
The fact that you killed a man doesn't make you guilty, it was just your silly alter ego.
That raven who won't stop saying "nevermore" is an asshole, don't listen to it.
Your fiancé is definitely NOT hiding his mad spouse in his attic.
The big ass dog that killed members of your family isn't real, dw.
You deserve revenge for having been abused as a child, go back to moors and show them!
Go and kidnap that singer!

The Internet Is Good #2
Welcome to Part #2 of an ongoing series in which I stop and smell the virtual roses! The internet is vast, and I need to remind myself that there's more to do than just doomscroll. So, I've started this series to write about the things on the internet I appreciate, and that have brought me joy this week. We'll see how many more weeks of this I do – I'm trying really hard to do more than just lurk, but tbh? I kinda hate posting anything that's not a podcast. Discomfort aside, let's dig into this week's treasures!
#5. Artfight!
Every July the internet engages in an artfight! It's what I imagine a cafeteria food fight would be like, if instead of mashed potatoes and peas, it's delicious delicious artwork! The concept is pretty simple, each July artists can register to join one of the themed teams (this years teams are Comedy, Mystery, and Tragedy). Players can attack the opposing team by creating art of other team's OCs! There's extra rules about countering attacks, or even attacking your own team members, and at the end of the month the team with the most points wins! And we win too– because it means there's lots of great artists sharing lots of cool artwork! Plus, it's a great way to discover new accounts to follow to beat out the doomscrolling.
This year, resident SCP Archives artist, dear friend, and creature creator extraordinaire, Eduardo Valdes-Hevia is participating (he's on team mystery).
#4. The Return of Game Informer
This is actually old news, but I thought I'd share in case you missed it! Growing up, one of my favorite past times was reading the newest edition of Game Informer. I must have had over a hundred issues when they closed down in 2024. It was absolutely devastating, but maybe not shocking given the tumultuous history of their parent company GameStop, and numerous layoffs in games journalism at the time (a trend that continues today). Fortunately, less than a year later, Game Informer returned! Not only was the online outlet back, but the magazine was revived too, this time with a couple of noticeable upgrades! It's been just over a year since Game Informer returned, and I'm excited to say I've gotten every one of their issues so far. They're really good. And a year of Print & Digital costs just $60. Supporting journalism is very important to me, which makes this one of my easiest purchases each year.
#3. Insane No Hit Parry Run on Commander Niall
One of the greatest joys online is stumbling onto something so random and silly that just makes your whole day. A couple weeks ago I scrolled past a random Tumblr post that did just that.
I already mentioned our artist, Ed, this week. But I cannot overstate just how much work he personally does to make the internet a weirder, and more wonderful place! Of course, you can see all the strange things Ed creates on his Instagram
And if you love Ed's art as much as I do, consider signing up for his Patreon! There's even more cool artwork there, and even physical rewards! I have over a dozen of Ed's postcards and Polaroids pinned to my office cork board. Whenever I need inspiration, or just wanna look as some good art, it's right there waiting for me.
#1. Gielinor Games 5
One of my best friends, Sam Robinson, is deeply in love with Runescape. He's currently rotating between three accounts, on which he has 6,816 hours (as of writing, probably another 20 hours by the time this publishes). This is not including all the hours he's put into dozens of other accounts over the last two decades. Whenever we're just chatting, or he's trying to figure out what he wants to play, or he's multi-tasking, Runescape is on one of his monitors.
Now, I'm not a big Runescape fan, I've played it a bit here and there, but I am a lifelong fan of Survivor. Enter Gielinor Games! It is the perfect blend of Runescape and Survivor, and it's surprisingly well produced! If you're a fan of either, or both, you'll have a great time. It's just one of those mix-ups that could only exist in this exact time and space, and I love it for that.
That's all for this week! And I'll be honest, I'm worried I might start running out of ideas sooner rather than later. So, here's my plea to you: If you have a cozy corner on the internet that you frequent, or saw something that made you happy, please let me know in the comments below, so I can discover it too!
And if you like this little series, be sure to subscribe to my newsletter to get it delivered straight to your inbox every week!

The Internet Is Good #1
Today I'm starting a new newsletter, "The Internet is Good." If you like these words, consider subscribing over on my website! Otherwise, sit back and enjoy it here, natively on Tumblr dot com.
If you're like me, you spend hours scrolling through platforms on the internet, Instagram, TikTok, BlueSky, Tumblr, over and over and over again. And after awhile, the internet just feels kinda... Meh?
When I was younger, the internet felt fascinating. It felt like there were so many twists and turns, hidden website, niche fandoms, that I'd never run out of things to explore. But as I got older, and social media platforms proliferated, everything kinda started feeling same-y. Maybe it's just because of how much content I was consuming, or how it was delivered; in either case the result was the same. This cool fascinating pinnacle of human communication started to feel hollow.
Recently, I've tried to slow down and spend some quality time on the internet, actually appreciating just how special it is. Which is why I'm starting this new weekly newsletter. Each week I'll deliver a recap of the things on the internet that I appreciate, whether it be a bit of internet lore, an artist, a weird art project, or just something I found and thought "neat."
To kick us off, here are five things on the internet I found interesting that I wanted to share with you!
#5. Wikipedia's Wikipede
I love Wikipedia, it's an incredible internet resource, and in my opinion is one of the modern wonders of the world. I mean all of human knowledge in one place? That's actually mind-boggling! But we're not here to talk about the fantastic free encyclopedia– no, we're here to talk about the Wikipede!
In 2003, Wikipedia hosted an international logo contest to find their. Community members submitted dozens of designs, thousands of people participated, and in the end, the Wikipedia puzzle globe came into existence! Wikipedia is currently celebrating it's 25 anniversary, and has a wonderful write-up about their history here. But before a final form was settled on, the "Wikipede" was born. Look at him! He's gross, and pixelated, and he fills me with a deep unshakable fear. And I love him. I love him so much I bought myself a tote with his horrid depiction on it.
You can buy the Wikipede Tote here, and maybe even consider donating to the Wikimedia Foundation?
#4. Queer Cowboys
I love cowboys, and I love queer stories. Growing up I struggled to find a lot of queer stories that I could resonate with. While there are plenty more to be found now, I find that some of my favorite genres just don't have the stories I'm yearning for. Fortunately, a podcast colleague, @thelaurenshippen is currently working on a queer Western romance, "Desperate Hollow!" You can read the first two chapters as of writing on her Patreon! In her research for this story, Lauren found a very different history of the wild west than what I grew up with. She talks about it in a recent video, check it out below!
Note: In case this embed ever breaks in the future, as API's tend to do over time, you can also see Lauren's post here.
#3. Pringles Hot Dog Buns?
I don't know anything about this, but I love sending my friends stupid hot dog memes and this one takes the cake. Bun? I don't know. But if I see these on a shelf, I will be buying one, eating it, and reviewing it for you here.
#2. Patreon bans AI training crawlers
404 Media reported earlier this week that Patreon has partnered with Cloudflare to block web crawlers scraping the platform for AI training! This is a small win in an ongoing battle for creatives online, but in an otherwise harsh landscape, it's great to see the Patreon team taking steps to protect creators. But if you're an artist who posts work online, and you're looking for some extra protection, maybe consider using the University of Chicago's AI nightshade?
#1. Summer Eternal - Anthology
Last, and perhaps the one thing that I'm most excited for, is the debut of upcoming game studio, Summer Eternal. If you're not in the know, here's a really quick rundown of events: In 2019, ZA/UM released Disco Elysium, it's one of the best games ever, and is beautifully written. Unfortunately, after finding massive commercial success, the lead creatives Robert Kurvitz, Argo Tuulik, Dora Klindžić, and many others, were slowly pushed out of the studio. This resulted in many creatives going out and founding their own studios, and now there are four new "Disco-like" games on the horizon. And then ZA/UM recently published Zero Parades: For Dead Spies, which has stirred up a lot of mixed feelings for Disco Elysium fans. The Verge and Aftermath both have great write-ups exploring the complexity of a good game that exists in the shadow of its predecessor.
Amidst all this chaos, there's one studio I've been keeping my eye on: Summer Eternal. This is where several members of the original creative team have landed, and unlike the other studios, this one has been formed as a worker owned co-op. As an artist, an
And all of this leads me to the Summer Eternal: Anthology. As a debut project, the team has put together a combination development diary/cultural journal/game reveal. Within its pages are a series of essays from the team sharing an inside look at organizing a worker-owned game studio (which I'm incredibly eager to learn about for my own pursuits). Plus, it'll have the world's first look at "Project Red Rooster." Me? I've already pre-ordered the anthology (and its limited edition vinyl), which promises to ship this summer.
That's it for now! I'll be back next Friday with another round up of five good things I found on the internet. But hey! This is a conversation, not a monologue (though I do love to monologue). I wanna hear from you! What do you think the most magical place online is? Tell me in the comments!
And if you wanna get notified next Friday when I post Part #2, be sure to sign up for my newsletter!
