Hello and Good evening, for the Robert is a black-footed cat AU, I would like to ask if it's possible for someone to recognize what a black-footed cat is, and then everyone has a collective moment of "oh, that's why he acts like that". Also, I would love more headcanons about Robert's tenor as Little Shit before the revival and Z team teasing him once he can control his transformation. Thank you.
I feel like the Z-Team and the other bullpen employees gets concerned when "Little Shit" doesn't seem to grow even after weeks have passed. Punch Up suggests that Chase take him to see a vet in case he has a form of dwarfism ("We'll match!").
The vet's reaction is very apt.
Vet: "Where the hell did you get South African wildcat!?" Chase: "He was in my missing brother's apartment along with his dog." Vet: "Where would he have gotten it?" Chase: "Hell if I know! He works in law enforcement. Drug dealer arrest or animal trafficking bust or something?"
The vet suggests contacting a rehab facility, but Little Shit gets very vocal about his displeasure - diving under Chase's armpit and refusing to leave.
A rehabber is called in, and determines that Little Shit is far too habituated with humans to ever be released into the wild - and suggests doing a genetic screening to see if they've been hybridized with a related species, since something "seems off". They make sure Little Shit has his kitty vaccines and a new diet plan to account for his wildness.
Sonar feels particularly smug for correctly identifying Little Shit as "a grown ass man of a cat" instead of the presumed kitten. The rest of the Z-Team now understand why their mascot is such a terror.
Flambae: "I mean, I get it. I'd be so pissed off if I was such a beautiful unique creature, and everyone thought I was a Garfield." Little Shit: (*visibly rolls his eyes*)
It's shortly after this eventful vet visit that Robert starts to get a hang of his transformation abilities. He really doesn't want to be taken away from Chase just because his enemy turned him into a rare species.
More chaos Little Shit gets up to prior to his reveal as Robert;
Food Thief. No matter how inappropriate the food is for a cat, Little Shit will attempt to steal a bite or sip. Frequent thefts include; meats of any kind and spice level, coffee, someone's poorly-concealed flask of alcohol, and snack cakes. Though curiously, Little Shit seems to know to avoid chocolate and mint. And he always seems a little angry when he eats sweet things (they don't taste right).
As stated in previous posts, Chronic Wanderer. All it takes is Chase blinking, and zoom! Little Shit has disappeared. He doesn't leave the building - the one time he made it to the exit doors he sat down and thought for a while before turning back. Often rediscovered in the tech lab and/or the courtyard area.
Due to the aforementioned wandering, Royd has had to bring the feisty cat back from the tech lab more than once. Tiny thing seems obsessed with the Mecha Man suit sitting in evidence storage. Probably thinks its a cat tree.
Little Shit steals pens and tries "writing" by holding them in his mouth. Cat mimicry in action.
Little Shit has attempted to steal phones more than once. Actually managed to steal Prism's for a solid ten minutes before getting stuck on the lock screen.
No matter how big the threat is - Little Shit will attempt to maul. Sonar learned this the hard way when he tried spooking the pair with his Megabat form. Now the beast seemingly has a vendetta against him. Mal warns him that cats naturally hunt bats in the wild. Sonar fears that Little Shit will find a way.
Despite all this naughtiness - Little Shit has perfected the "big kitty eyes" to convince people that he wasn't misbehaving. Chase is a frequent victim of this, followed by Blazer.
When the cat becomes a whole grown man-cat-hybrid, a lot of Little Shit's odd habits suddenly make a lot of sense...
Okay but like, Robert returning to normal and then using all the shit he learned about everyone against them/to his advantage. People will say a lot of things around animals that they wouldnāt say around people so Robert learns quite a bit, both things that are blackmail worthy and some fairly personal things that he swears never to tell but might use the knowledge when it comes to assigning missions.
