This is one of the most adorable Pride posts Iβve ever seen
What I love about the imagery of the turtle is that itβs sending the message that they are protecting themselves by being in their shell. Itβs not about deceiving straight people (like we are often told), but about the turtleβs own safety. Theyβll come out when the time is right and they feel comfortable. ππ³οΈβπ

hi byler nation !! it's pride month π³οΈβπ !! i know these past few months have been weird for us, and i know this made some of us feel bad for being queer, and yall need to know: being queer is awesome and beautiful, no matter what two middle aged cishet white rich men think, don't let them make you feel like you're wrong just for liking a queer ship.
everything that is happening rn all over the world for queer people shows us how important it is to have this kind of communities where love and queer identities are celebrated, and where everybody can be themselves.
it shows us why we still need to be loud (when we can) about our pride. and why we still need to show our anger at all these governments taking away our rights, and taking away more and more human rights, the rights of immigrants, of women, of people of color...
that's part of why having such a big and beautiful byler community is important, because we exist, and we're proud. we're proud of our queerness. and don't ever let anyone make you feel ashamed of that pride.
so, happy pride month to queer people in senegal, to trans people in the usa (and other queer people), to queer people living trough a genocide right now, to queer immigrants, to queer people of color, to queer women living in a country where they are being oppressed, to queers whose identity are constantly being ignored and seen as childish, and to every out and closeted queers.
and fck to all of these governments turning more and more far right...

Vent about my transphobic mother
I love my mom but her homophobia/transphobia really hurts.
For context she woke me up in the middle of the night a couple days ago because she got an email from the college disability service. It used they/them pronouns to refer to me because that was the DEFAULT for the system. I didn't set it to that I just hadn't entered all of my personal information yet. She just had to make sure that I wasn't "questioning" anything or being "influenced by questionable morals." I couldn't go to sleep after that because I felt so panicked and ashamed even though I didn't do anything wrong.
Anyways thanks for listening. Will probably delete this later but it's good to get it out somewhere.
