Hello there :) 

I’m an 18yo autistic bean. This blog is mostly reblogs, fandom things, and random thoughts.

And since we don't face direct punishment for missing positive social cues like we do for negative ones, our coping skills and compensatory hypervigilance don't develop the same way. So we go through a world of never recognising positive signals, sometimes spotting negative signals, and knowing for sure there's more negative signals we're still missing, because those keep blowing up in our face.

Reminder for you (and me) that it's okay to ask for help. I was alone last night. I had a bad day and felt like I was going to relapse/hurt myself. I didn't want to bother my parents so I called my friends (even though phone calls are scary). It was great, we parallel played Deltarune.

reminder to all disabled people that you’re allowed to tell people “i can’t do that” about stuff you can ‘technically’ do but which harms you or requires a period of recovery or preparatory rest etc. you don’t have to explain the complex nuances of your condition to anybody who demands it. i’ve found it’s honestly better to give the least amount of info about your symptoms unless you trust a person a lot. you hold the power over your health information. you choose whether or not to share the details of your condition with people who might not understand.

I’ve been popping out comic pages faster than a catholic school pops out gay kids. Just know each one of these takes me 1-3 hours, so trust that I’ve been in a hole doing nothing but drawing for a while now.

I wish I could wear shorter sleeves but I'm too self-conscious about my scars. Maybe one day. I really hope things get better eventually, it feels like they don't and I just have to get stronger. But I'll keep trying.
