Imagine looking like this in candid photos
In an exclusive interview with ESPN, Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff rewinds the clock to the day he nearly killed himself attempting a n
I was searching around for pieces on toto’s traumatic head injury since I saw it referencedoj twitter and found so much more.
For starting, turns out Toto is also a nepo hire.
Imagine calling Niki Lauda “boring”. And by the way. If you read on, Niki lauda was right in calling Toto’s attempt idiotic, because he nearly lost his life in the process. So Niki was not boring, he was just realistic but it took toto to crash into a wall to recognize it.
All of this is quite telling on Niki’s original impriting on the team and toto’s current management.
Explains also toto and george’s relationship: Niki liked George a lot, he saw some parts of himself in him. Which is why toto dislikes george. Their rational, realistic and pragmatic personalities clash with his idiotic nonsensical one.
Coming to the head injury:
Did he really have a full recovery though? Adding that he reiterated the accident in a different way so damage has been done more than once:
Does he even have brain to begin with? /gen /srs
Never had one to begin with, it seems
remember that george is smarter than toto gives him credit for. george is smarter than the general public gives him credit for. george is smarter than WE give him credit for.
he is not valterri bottas. he's not even nico rosberg. he has outplayed toto before, he will do it again.
HUMANITY WON TODAY❗️ AND JUST LIKE SPAIN, GEORGE WILL ALSO DEFEAT THE EVIL AND THE CORRUPT ‼️
ENGLAND IS AVENGED!
by our ancient enemies but today they get a pass
Congrats, Spain
it took only 106 minutes to score one goal, GET ON WITH IT
And it is not a goal.
it took only 106 minutes to score one goal, GET ON WITH IT
Argentina have made more shots at the back of their opponents heads than at the goal
This pretend wc final is a snooze fest. We've already had the people's final, so get ON with it, just score a goal anyone and end this
I always feel like something crumbled between Toto towards George that happened between the spring and summer of 2023 where George stopped backing Toto's remarks and stopped being too critical on RBR (which later leads to his relationship with Max improving up until QAT24), him landing more Mercedes gigs in 2024, and the rest is history until now
IDK if any other 2023 fans feel like this too. But I always feel like something shifted during that period. I cannot explain it. Felt like this is one-sided. Toto to George. And the vice versa probably chipped away as a consequence.
I did a deep dive into 2023. The contract saga back then changed something between them. My theory is that he moved out of being under tw's management as his cash cow. Another thing that might be the issue is the whole cult reaction to 2023. It was by the summer that George's situation started to improve a bit and the cult went literally mad over it. Perhaps, that was the first time the team took a big hit on their image. And we all know someone higher than tw does not like it. Perhaps, there have been talks and in tw's mind George is the one to blame for it.
Bringing this from the reply and adding more:
I don't want to psychoanalyze but I always feel like something "hurt" him when he realized George doesn't need him to stand on his own. He always talks about the past where George is in front of him and presenting his CV. A "vulnerable" and "in need of Toto" version of George. And when he tells the story? He often left out the part where George rejects him and Mercedes to go to VW. He also rarely mentions the involvement of Gwen Lagrue specifically in the process of bringing George back. It's as if he has his own idealized version in mind where he is the "saviour" of George.
Yes, I think I've never heard from Toto that it was Gwen that ultimately managed to bring George in. George went to Toto, Toto made the offer, but George refused it. And THEN Gwen reached out, trying to find a solution. Which they did and George became Merc's 10 year slave.

Two thing I must say
1. The constant Toto Wolff implicit portrayal of George Russell as if he is mentally challenged or depressed through endless "he is not confident" statements are concerning. It's like him trying to rewrite George's character as a whole to excuse whatever "misfortune" is happening. Putting out such narrative about his own driver is not his first. In the past, he tried to portray George as an introvert or make it seem like George didn't believe on himself despite George saying the complete opposite.
2. The lack of regards Mercedes has towards George Russell's safety is VERY alarming. Continuously letting him drive with such faulty internal components in his car and making no improvement when heavy risk and consequence relating to George's safety and wellbeing is highly present all the time. This is not the first time in years that they decided to ignore and not be transparent of the technical problem happening. Will they not learn unless a bad thing happen?
This is honestly concerning and there is no way this team provides a healthy workplace environment. It is not about the championship anymore. It is just pure ignorance and disregard because currently they are on their high horses. Whether or not you believed some kind of race fixing/sabotage is happening, this is a careless dangerous manipulative behaviour exhibited by a team who is led by an incapable unprofessional leader.
If this continues, this can be very dangerous. And up until now? They don't seem to be alarmed by the failures that has happened to George regardless of the big risk right in front of their eyes. Which makes it more concerning. Disgusting behaviour.
Longer is the downfall from the highest horses.
And the exodus has already started. Toto has transformed mercedes in rbr.
Adding on point 1:
Toto’s vindictive behaviour towards george needs to be studied because seems to me he’s got a chip on his shoulder towards him since forever and I really cannot comprehend if it’s just general antipathy because he cannot control george fully or jealousy because george is a better leader, driver and person than he will ever dream to be
Agree with everything and also want to add another point. The way TW is behaving is either
a) influenced by personal gain from 12 or personal slight he has with George. If this is so, he is putting his own interests before the interests of the team and a person's safety and thus is unfit to be tp;
b) he has something to prove with 12, he is behaving like his life/livelihood depends on it. Perhaps he is trying to extend his contract, or build an artificial wdc, but he is doing it at the expense of his team, his team's image, the brand. When even pundits on Sky are question what is going on with George's car, you know it is a crisis. And he let it happen, thus he is unfit to be tp;
c) he has full-blown dementia, because his statements along the weekend are contradictory. He says there is no speed issues on Friday, then admits there are on Saturday, on Sunday before the race he says that they fixed them. Then the whole world watched George lose three places and get driven into in TURN 5. And he first claims everyone has these issues, then he tries to blame George's driving AGAIN, then he starts saying that it is only half of the problem. If this is the case, he is unfit to be the tp.
In all three cases he is endangering his employee, ruining his reputation, ruining the image of his team and brand.
Please stop with this "That's George's championship OVER" stuff though. I mean it's looking bleak but there's still half the season left, nobody needs the OTT doommongering to add to the torment nexus.
IT IS NEVER OVER. EVEN WHEN IT IS OVER THIS SEASON, THERE IS THE NEXT. FUCK YOU MERC
The thing is, it’s not even the fact that George is 50 points behind Kimi right now with 12 races to go. The gap isn’t impossible to close. Seb did something similar in 2012, when he was 44 points off Alonso with 10 races to go. Lando and Max had a nice comeback last season too.
The difference is, all of them had teams that 100% cared about them and worked for their success while George is always an afterthought for this team. Kimi’s rare problems are fixed instantly, while George’s “mysterious” lack of straightline speed doesn’t get solved race after race and they dare to pretend it doesn’t exist and blame George for weeks until they can’t anymore.
There’s something rotten with this team.
