Tips & food I use/eat for weight-loss (long thread)

So iāve gathered a lot of information and applied it to myself to lose weight and have also learned some things along the way. Here are a few tips and safe foods that have helped me lose weight :) Iāve lost 20 pounds in a little under a month doing this but iām not guaranteeing that youāll lose the same bc i have a higher SW!!
sorry if some are repetitive but this is just what i followed and did!
1. For starters if you want to lose weight youāll need to count calories and calculate how many calories you body currently intakes to maintain itās weight. To do this youāll have to look up ācalorie calculatorā and then enter your information and it will show you how many calories your body needs to maintain & lose weight.
2. After doing that you have the calorie information needed to lose weight. Now as long as you count your calories and stay below the maintain calorie number you WILL lose weight no matter what.
Okay now that thatās out of the way ofc my number and the number you get will be some high number meant for normal people and normal reasonable weight loss over a period of time however I wanted fast results. So when you calculate your calories look at the extreme weight loss calorie intake for your body, this will say āto lose 2lb/week u need this many calories ___ā That number is the number you will never go over until you reach ur GW.
For me, at first i made my calorie limit 1500, this means that i will never eat over that much including days i ended up bingeing or eating unhealthy. Itās a high number but thatās just my safe number. In reality i try to never go over 900 on any given day and most days try to stay in between 300-500 if iām eating at all.
3. After setting my calorie limits i do a kind of yo-yo affect on how many calories i can eat per day, itās never the same. I pre plan how many calories iām allowed that day ex.: 300 and that way i know what i can make for food and eat that day to stay within my deficit.
an example of my week with no fasting would look like this
S: 700 M: 500 T: 300 W: 300 Th:500 F: 800 S:600
And if i was fasting it would look like this
S:900 M:700 T:500 W:Fast Th:200 F:400 S:700
* important to note is that you donāt want to eat like 1800-2k calories and fast the next day otherwise you wonāt be able to do it!! You have to ease yourself and gradually lower your calorie intake for fasting days to make it easier. You could also have like 700-1k a day before a fast and be fine and personally might prove to be better in the long run because youāve fueled your body with food for your fast so you wonāt faint or be fatigued. I try to eat a higher calorie intake the day before when i do 2+ day fasts.
4. Once youāve set your calorie schedule, STICK TO IT!!! That is the only way youāll see results, if you want to have something unhealthy or binge or whatever okay fine do it BUT STAY WITHIN UR CALORIE LIMIT!!!
So itās not like you haveee to eat healthy but it helps since healthy food has low calories. If youāre really craving something, eat it within ur calorie deficit. Just donāt go overboard and feel bad and then binge on like 800 calories worth of chocolate thatās silly. The chocolate will be there when youāre skinny.
5. ONLY DRINK WATER!!!! 2-4 LITRES A DAY!!! Obviously everyone says this but like seriously, just drink your fucking water. Personally iāve always only ever drank water my whole life bc i donāt like other drinks since theyāre too sugary and it feels gross in my mouth when i drink pop or something. Also like drinking diet soda will not help you lose weight thatās gross itās still sugary asf and bad for ur teeth just drink water .. water is life <3 If itās too bland for u add fruit to it but donāt eat the fruit lol. Anyways drink water religiously and always have a HUGE water bottle on u and make sure u finish it everyday!!
6. Fasting. If you really want a quick lose it weight follow the calorie deficit schedule and incorporate fasts of however long your body can handle. Donāt immediately jump into a 5 day fast without ever having done a 2 or 3 day fast bc thatās just not going to work out ā¦. For the first week try a 24hr fast in the middle or end of the week, for the second week try a 48 and then work ur way up to however long youāre trying to fast for. Baby steps yall!!!
7. Work out on days you have a higher calorie intake. Granted i donāt really workout much myself but I work a full time job where iām always walking around and standing so i already burn like 1k+ calories a shift just from that, also having a job makes it easier to not eat during the day lol
- Usually if i work out itās like leg raises or crunches in bed and iāll just keep my legs suspended in air for like 10 min
Just donāt over work yourself when ur fasting or on a really low cal restriction !! If u feel faint eat something!! take ur vitamins !!
8. COUNT EVERY CALORIE!!!! Donāt lie to yourself and under count calories or bs like that ā¦at the end of the day ur only lying to urself.. hold yourself accountable and be realistic!! Always look at the calories in everything you eat before you eat it and accurately add it up and see how it works into ur cal limit!
My favorite app to count calories, is this weightloss app called ālose it!ā It has a bunch of pre counted caloric food so u can just look it up and add it to ur daily calories ; It also tracks your calories so you know whether or not ur staying in ur deficit and u can reflect on how many cals u at during the week and what nutrients u got from ur food!
9. DO NOT WEIGHT YOURSELF DAILY!!!!
As much of an urge you may have to weigh yourself every day and multiple times during the day, DONT!!! Itās self sabotage and will unmotivate u like of course youāre going to gain weight during the day itās water weight and food babe, itās going to stay there until u either piss or shit it out.
Instead try weighing yourself once or twice a week like once on monday and once on friday and youāll see better results then and itāll be more encouraging :)
OKAY NOW ONTO THE FOOD PORTION !
So for me i LOVEEEEEE carbs Mmmmmmm i love pastas and especially maruchan ramen which is so bad for you but i literally kid u not ate a pack like every day ⦠its my favorite comfort food
So since i am an adult and have adult money and buy my own groceries, itās easier for me to eat low cal food and healthier options bc i can just pick and choose and stock my house with them!
Here is a list of some foods i get
(iāll include calories if i can remember them)
1. Shiritake noodles (10cals per serving (amazing ik))- a godsend for pasta lovers who want to lose weight; These come in different pasta shapes such as angel hair, linguini, fettuccini and it even has a rice version. My favorite is the angel hair because i substitute ramen for that and add in beef or chicken flavoring and it tastes literally the exact same!! You can also pair these with low cal pasta sauces like tomato sauce with mushrooms for a low cal spaghetti :P
2. Popcorn!!!! either skinny popcorn (150cals per 3 3/4 cup) Homemade popcorn is even LOWER in calories when u donāt add butter so just cooking that in a kettle and adding seasoning for flavor MWUAH Chefs kiss low calorie snack
3. Cucumbers- One large cucumber has about 45 calories total and you get sooo much food from it when u slice it thinly or even slicing the slices into quarters which what i like to do bc it tricks my brain into thinking i have more food! Cucumbers are kind of bland on their own so to spice it up i add squeezes of lime all over my cucumbers and top it off with mexican dressing tajĆn (this helps with my salty sour crunchy cravings) And the lime juice and tajin have practically no calories so i never count them when i add it on
4. Veggie straw chips, they come in either sticks or in wavy chip forms, they taste pretty good to me and theyāre rlly low calorie, i forgot the brand but thereās different ones
5. Cauliflower pretzels! Theyāre low in calories and i like to pair this with kaukuana cheese spread (55 cals per tbsp) melted (to mimic pretzels w cheese bc i love soft pretzels w cheese)
6. Miso soup! Miso soup is super easy to make and low in calories and always tastes yummy
7. bean sprouts- 10cals per serving can replace pasta and is good stir fried w seasonings and sauces
8. Cauliflower- u can get cauliflower rice, cauliflower buffalo wings, cauliflower anything itāll taste good and is low cal
* main take away is to eat high volume low calorie foods to feel full while staying in ur deficit !
- eat ice & gum to stop cravings & chug water
- get at least 8hrs of sleep a day
- cut out greasy, sugary, high fat foods
- watch wieiad, mukbangs, or ed tiktok compilations on youtube to distract yourself
- look at whatever spo motivates u
