I'm a Med Student! 𩺠š š
The day I've waited for more than 5 years has finally come!
Hard work, patience and one dream...
I'm more than happy and excited to announce that I got into Medical school!
Second year in med school (or what the hardest year so far thaught me š )
Second year in where I study is known as a place nobody really wants to return toā¦and now I get it. We studied mainly 3 subjects which were Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistryā¦the āholy trinityā. Donāt let winter exams fool you- they feel like sunshine and rainbows, but nothing compares to the storm that the summer exams bring! āļøšŖļø
Subject rate
Anatomy 2/10 āļøāļø
āI wanna give you the zero, but thatās not possible, so I give you a two!ā
I knew Iāll have trouble with this subject the first day I opened my textbooks. These 2 years felt like hell studying it especially CNSā¦Muscles spiked my interest in Traumatology and Sports medicine tho, and that is the only reason I give it 2 stars!
Study with me! Todays soundtrack was Jazmin Bean's strawberry house & acoustic church sessions. (Pls ignore the red paint on my hand!)

just wanted to say i saw one of your posts in a studyblr community on my dash and got a slight whiplash at how fast i scrolled back up, i'm so not used to seeing bulgarian in the wild. anyway ŃŠµŃŃŠøŃ ŠŗŃŠ°Š¹ на ŃŠµŃŠøŃŃŠ° š«”š«”š«”
Phahah I always get so excited when I see another Bulgarian or even just another Slavic in here šITS SO RARE! Also- ГоживŃŃ Š¼Šµ го ŠŗŃаŃŃ! š«”š¤

Today was my Physiology exam and i can gladly say i passed! It consisted of 3 separate components which needed to be all successfully taken in order to pass the whole thing, however 60% of the whole grade was the oral part andā¦uhm..it did not went accordingly š„²
The professor asked me if āI even studied for the examā, like I didnāt spend my whole year preparing for it and like the last 10 days did not feel like I was burried in textbooks and papers. š«
The unfairness in grading kept me upset this afternoon and I even thought about retaking this exam so I can show my full knowledge but I still donāt think itās worth it considering how tired I already amā¦
Anyways, Iām still thankful itās all over! I really canāt wait to take a few days off and enjoy my summer! (finally!!!) š„¹āļø
Alright everyone, it's officially time for the.... Drumroll please...
Also known as me being real about studying time, goals, and performance from when I started tracking (June 17) :P
Accounting for eating and sleeping, the average time left over from June 17 through June 30 is 195 hours. Let's see how that shook out:
It's looking like most of my time was free! Sweet! But for the time that wasn't, let's look at some of our top contenders:
Part-Time Job (41 hours total)
a girl's gotta work! 41 hours, mostly consisting of 9-10hour shifts during the weekends.
Summer Class (Physics II / 26 hours total)
This period included two tests among other homework and 18 hours of lecture + lab. Test scores were a nice middle of the road, averaging an 81%.
MCAT Studying (12 hours total)
Anki
Average Time Spent: 3minutes/day
Days Missed: 5
Longest time spent: 22.61 minutes on June 29 with 251 total flashcards reviewed.
2. Jack Westin
This was the first month of doing daily passages. Let's see how we did:
The TOTAL % Correct trendline came out to be y= 0.015x + 0.521 ! This means that overall, we saw a 1.5% improvement in performance doing Jack Westin daily MCAT passages each day.
Some key points:
The PSYCH/SOC % category had relatively low passage frequency, indicate by the breaks and dots in the hot pink line.
There were three 100s! Two for CARS and one in CHEM. Woohoo! šš
The average performance over all counting all data points was approximately 61% correct. Plenty of room to improve!
How about Hobbies?
everything that was funky, fun, and most importantly, not academic!
2 Days till Physiology exam š
Sweat and tears are poured while studying here (not even pun intended)
Today I revised the last few topics on Sensations and how to examine a patient with different symptoms. Tried to do active recall while speaking out loud so I my mind doesnāt get distracted as easy (it still did)
This summer final session drained the life and brain out of me. I really donāt think I can fit any more bit of information atp, I just want it all to end š time is passing sooo slowww!
The Burn Out is So Real š«©š¤
Heyaa, in 8 days is my last exam this year.
Physiology is going fairly well, kinda stressed, kinda not. I donāt have expectations but hopefully I pass (when I first approached the subject I was like āYeahhh letās goo I need to get an A here!!āš„²š„²)
However I feel super burn out itās not even funny⦠studying every single day for more than 2 months and a whole school year passed before that is insane amount of work. I developed the consistency but I get distracted so easily now, canāt even focus to read 1 paragraph and it pisses me off cuz WHAT DO YOU MEAN I PHYSICALLY CANNOT???
I havenāt slept (yes..still!!). Idk how my eyes are still open but the brain fog is real thing!
Idk if Iāll make it yāallšš
Physiology studies and sleep deprivation š¤š
My last exam is in 9 days. Physiology used to be my favourite subject this year and thank God I studied throughout the semester so now I can just revise in peace (wouldāve been nice if I remembered more of the material š„²)
Today I studied for good 5h, tomorrow I hope to accomplish more.
I havenāt had a normal sleep in at least a month, I feel my body giving up on studies and even though physiology is not the worst, I still find it sooo hard to focusā¦
I really REALLY need sleep and to feel summer already! (This year it will happen on 14th of July at best)
I keep seeing your āI passed anatomy!!ā pop up on my dash and Iāve never really seen your blog before and itās in a community anyways so couldnāt comment so have just scrolled past it before. Anyways, just realised that I should actually tell you whatās crossed my mind every time Iāve seen it and thatās CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! WELL DONE!!! You should be so so proud of yourself :)
AWWWW, thatās soo sweet!! Thank you š„¹š
(seeing this after I failed biochemistry is wild hahaha)
Sometimes you loose, sometimes you winā¦
ā¦with that being said I didnāt pass biochemistry despite the efforts š
Iām so proud of myself for how easy I took it, not even punishing myself or anythingā¦I was just like āoh well, that happened!ā (Which is a HUUUGE improvement for me especially compared to last year lol)
A reminder to everyone who failed an exam: IT IS OKAY! and itās actually quite normal experience for every university student! It is NOT the end of your world! This does NOT mean you suck! You will get that degree!
The whole exam was pretty tough and I was just 4 points away from passing it but anyhow š„²
Looking forward to the next (and fortunately last) exam which is in 10 days!
Biochemistry Exam Prep
Heyooo, week has been tough- no sleep, no decent workouts, and unfortunately little to no progress on studying š
Iām sooo tired and itās still just the beginning of the finalsā season. Like who thought it was a great idea to put exams in JUNE!! Thank God for Ninja Nerd, otherwise Iām cooked š¤š»
I donāt have big expectations for this exam, like every other time I just pray I pass it no matter the grade (even tho I need and want to change thatā¦)
Vlog from the night before Anatomy exam
Spoiler: I PASSED!!!!
The night before the hardest exam in med school so farā¦it was TOUGH! All glory to God! š
Anatomy was the worst subject for me, I hated every second of it and now itās OVER!! Still canāt believe it š the last few days were super exhausting, I studied for like +10h a day on average, I need some good sleep and rest now.
Unfortunately it wonāt last for long as I still got Biochemistry and Physiology š„²
Iām pretty much cooked
I hate I hate I HATE ANATOMY!
Only a few days left till the exam and Iāve got no clue how Iāll manage to passā¦Iām so stressed, so scared. And this is not the type of stress that motivates you to push harder, itās the kind that yells ājust give up, you aināt making it this timeā. Idk what I did wrong (again) during the school year and how Iām in this exact situation of exhaustion as last summerās finals.
Just a reminder as many of us start approaching finals:
Finals are a final exam, a test. Not a final verdict on knowledge or talent or promise or worth.
Study hard, do your best. But also congratulate yourself for getting this far, for all the hard work you have done to get to this point.
There is nothing to prove. You are already good enough, and there's nothing that can change that ā¤ļø
Day 16/43 of productivity!
