2020 has taken so much away from all of us.
I never understood quite well why I always felt inadequate despite having a comfortable life. He asked me what I wanted, any material thing I’d like to buy. A new camera, I said. To capture new memories by. He asked me to hold out my hands and he proceeded to fill them with pennies until I couldn’t hold any more. Are your hands full? Yes. But is that enough to get what you want? I often wondered why I was constantly unhappy despite having a lot people around me. I guess it’s not about the number of people we have in our life, or the number of relationships we’ve had. It doesn’t even matter how long we’re able to keep them for. If all we get are lousy cheap ones, even if we have them in multiples, they will never be enough. Fill your life with quality people. Love deeply.
The Carcoleptic
Whilst I folded my clothes, one of the most mundane things in the world, I felt two strong arms envelope me into a tight embrace. Her head rested perfectly on my back like a jigsaw piece. No dramatic candlelit or petaled anything, no string quartet. Just the warm feeling of certainty. Love without pretentions, one beyond words. In that exact moment, I knew that our timelines became one. And I, was finally found.

Seek the fire that ignites your passions and not the kind that burns them down.
The Carcoleptic
I wasn’t broken
but you made me think
I was
then took credit
for fixing me up.

Life doesn’t have a reset button. We make do with the cards we are dealt and the pieces we choose to keep and the ones we throw away. And that is what’s beautiful about it. Not everything is calculated. Not all is planned. Sometimes, we take risks and we fail. But there are also those times when we try and we end up flying. And that triumphant moment is forever ours and could never be undone.
The Carcoleptic
I’m not afraid of falling in love. I’m just not willing to settle for half love or love out of comfort. If it’s not something that would drive me absolutely head over heels, then maybe, it’s not for me. I deserve that. We all do.
The Carcoleptic
There is no love more desirable than one that could never be had.
The Carcoleptic
Have you ever felt like you’re just waiting for something to happen then your life would begin? But it never comes. You remain the same while everything around you changes. Then you slowly feel like you’re being sucked into a void and you feel helpless and powerless and breathless. Then you tell your self that you’d give up anything just to feel again.
The Carcoleptic
She was the piece of me I didn’t know I needed until I lost it.
The Carcoleptic
Sometimes, people come back not because they love you but because they are not done hurting you.
The Carcoleptic
Some great things come late in life. Spend your time being happy and becoming the best version of your self. When it’s time, your ‘great thing’ will be ready for you.
The Carcoleptic
Being the best won’t necessarily make you happy. But being happy will always make you feel the best.
The Carcoleptic
Pain is not an excuse to remain broken.
The Carcoleptic
Never scorn a poet. She will weave her pain into words and thread your memory into every fabric of her work. By the time you realize the beauty of what you had, she’d be too far gone and you’d be nothing but a line in her new poem.
The Carcoleptic
Only the broken can heal the broken because only those who have gone through your pain will understand how difficult it is to lose someone you love.
The Carcoleptic
I wish I read more when I was younger. Maybe then, I’d learn to be more poetic and bolder. I’d believe in magic, and creatures that fly. And people who watch stars fall from the sky. And maybe if I loved books more than I did other people, My life would have more direction than this infinite black hole.
