There's a Rodimus playlist on Spotify that a Rodimus rp acc on Twitter made (the playlists called RODIMIX) and one song in particular has been driving me insane for weeks. Hot! Heat! Wow! Hot! by Psychedelic Porn Crumpets is genuinely soo good and I included it in the title of chapter 17 (recently posted) but I wanna yap about the song itself a little.

First of all the opening lines are "It's easy come, easy go, laugh it off" like that's LITERALLY rodimus for obvious reasons like this guy is the KING of acting like his problems aren't as bad as they actually are

And then the next bit: "let's make a baby (no!) Let's get a puppy (no!) Do you like to daydream? (No!) We should have a party" It so clearly resembles rodimus. From a rodimus-lens, it sounds like his impulsive thoughts and trying to find/make a distraction from his worries and ESPECIALLY the "let's have a party" is like oughhh roddy I BET you'd want to have a party, where else can you get drunk and dance until you forget what you were so upset about in the first place

"Oh my god, you're so needy; I love it, do you love me?" I interpret this as roddy wanting to feel needed and useful and like he's actually making an impact as a leader. Like if the people around him need his help then he's doing great! If they don't need his help, then clearly he's not made himself useful enough and I think this is where he starts y'know doing impulsive stuff that may or may not cause more harm than good (maybe harm to himself... oooh themes and such). My boy just needs to feel important

"Maybe we should run away" GOD. YES. SOO RODIMUS CODED.

Megarod. Roddy refuses to let Megatron be unhappy (whether or not his methods are successful is. Up to debate) so he decides the problem is clearly himself and can't possible be Megatron (I'm kind of projecting onto This Place is Made for Fools (and I'm Seeking Solace) at this point but you see it right)

"Talk to god; he didn't want me" NYON. NYON. NYON. THE FACT THAT NYON WAS A PRETTY RELIGIOUS CITY AND PRIMUS DIDNT HELP THEM IN THEIR TIME OF NEED AND HOT ROD WAS THE ONE WHO DUG THE MATRIX OUT OF THE RUBBLE OF ACROPLEX (or something. I'm gonna be so honest I can't remember the details of how Autocracy went down but I wouldn't be surprised if Rodimus has a complicated relationship with Primus and its partly because of Nyon and partly because of his own feeling inadequate for the Matrix)

"Then take it all; all of my nothing" again, projecting onto megarod and TPiMfF(aiSS). Chapter 15: megs saying he'd take anything roddy offers ("life, happiness, purpose")

Anyway. Little rant. I like projecting on these two and Rodimus especially he's soo interesting

You can’t call yourself a leftist if you hate children tbh, like you can choose not to have them or be around them, but outright hating the most marginalised group of people in the world who have absolutely no power or control over the most basic parts of their lives and bodies is a dangerous mentality to have and you need to grow the fuck up and get out of your edgy phase and start treating everyone around you like human beings, even the ones that piss you off.

Like the older I get, the more empathy I have for children. Imagine living on this planet for less than a decade and having to figure out every single thing from scratch, only for the people around you to treat you like a living doll and constantly invalidate your feelings because you haven’t learned how to express them beyond screaming at the top of your lungs, like you’d be having meltdowns in the grocery store as well. The least you can do is offer them some grace, everything is so fucking confusing and scary and overwhelming and they’re not able to communicate that properly and no one around them is explaining shit, and they are constantly at the mercy of whether or not the terrifyingly giant adults around them CHOOSE to be kind like genuinely put yourself in the situation of a child and tell me you wouldn’t also be freaking the fuck out.

The way society treats children is borderline inhumane, and you have the audacity to call them hellspawn crotch-goblins for screaming a little bit too loud or daring to be in the same vicinity as you.

I do also believe that hating children is a sign of underlying ableism, because most of the justifications of hating children comes down to “they’re annoying” or “they don’t know how to act” or “they’re gross” and if you are unable to treat people who lack social skills, who make loud or repetitive noises, who are incontinent etc. with basic respect and dignity, then what’s the difference between hating children and hating disabled adults that share the traits you find so irritating?

since there is such an "english speakers who don't even try to pronounce a foreign mame correctly" epidemic, native english speakers often try to overcorrect and end up thinking they have a moral imperative to pronounce every foreign name correctly at all times. so i'm gonna hold your hand and look into your eyss as i say this: you can't. you can't pronounce every sound in a language you don't speak. and that's fine. it happens to the rest of us too. we won't be mad so long as you try your best.

“I did some research to pronounce this name correctly” = 👍 great! even if the pronunciation was still off (and learning to pronounce a foreign language correctly takes a lot of practice) people generally appreciate it when someone goes the extra mile for accuracy, and honestly, languages are cool

“I’m probably not saying that correctly”/“sorry for my pronunciation” = 👍 understandable! foreign languages often have sounds that aren’t used in English and learning to correctly pronounce unfamiliar phonemes is genuinely difficult even with help

“lol I’m not even gonna TRY to pronounce that 😂” = 👎 THIS is the problem, if treats languages other than English like they are inherently ‘weird’ or ‘overly complicated’ just because you aren’t familiar with them

i DO believe that a good writer can make mischaracterization work. oh there's a character who doesn't normally cry? figure it out!! disect the character. make the situation cryable for them. make that character cry ugly tears even if it goes against their very nature. YOU CAN MAKE IT WORK!!!

there should be a term for characters you personally don't care about but you defend them anyways because the way people treat them is really uncomfortable. like ok this is a very middle-of-the-road character for me but the fandom's either been super misogynistic, racist, etc. about them or harassed innocent people who try to genuinely explore that character warts and all, and i find that more annoying than the actual character.
