like! people always reference pride & prejudice as the archetypal ânormal girl falls for mysterious brooding antiheroâ story but they overlook the part where lizzy drags darcy so fucking hard he leaves town and then apologizes for talking to her the next time they meet even though theyâre at his literal house
three guesses what these are for
iâm pretty sure the real reason hobbits rarely leave the shire is because they only ever see the other races from that horrific lower angle you catch when yr phone cam comes on
You grow up and you realise A Bugâs Life was the revolutionary Leftist masterpiece of our childhoods
Iâm not even slightly kidding
Ants are the workforce doing the labour needed to survive, and they have to do it twice over to provide for both themselves and for a group of parasites who do nothing but consume the labour of others
The ants work themselves near to death trying to stay afloat
The grasshoppers donât even need any food. They have tons to spare but still insist on taking the food the ants worked for because they âdeserveâ it, despite actually contributing nothing of value. The only reason this works is by threatening ants with force and degrading them so they feel weak and worthless, and insisting that the grasshoppers deserve a cut for some vague service they claim to provide to society
In reality Hopper is desperate to stop the ants from thinking for themselves, keeping them ignorant of the fact that he has subjugated ants through threats of power while the ants actually overpower the grasshoppers through sheer numbers.
And should the ants ever realise that the grasshoppers take from them while providing nothing and that revolution is possible, the class system theyâve installed will be finished.
tl;dr feed the 1% to birds
Favorite Things:
One of the leaders of the Grand Heathen Army that fucked up the Anglo-Saxon heptarchy was a dude called Ivar the Boneless.  Thereâs all kinds of theories about why he was called thatâhe was double-jointed, had erectile dysfunction, had osteoporosis, so on and so forth.  Some have even postulated that he was given the Latin title âExosus,â and this was misrendered as âex os,â literally, âWithout Bones.â  But of course nobody knows for sure and we probably never will.
The greatest and best explanation, of course, comes from Ragnar Lodbrokâs Saga, where it just straight-up says, âRagnarâs son Ivar was called âthe Bonelessâ because he had no bones.â
This is by far the best piece of Star Wars literature ever made

*******PLEASE DONâT LEAVE DISHES OF SUGAR WATER OUT*******
Post from a beekeeper
Oh dear - I keep hearing tips about leaving bowls of sugar water out to âhelpâ keep bees hydrated. Please, please, please DONâT. Bees are really good at finding what they need and there are so many reasons not to do this. The MOST IMPORTANT reason is that if you within 3 miles of some hives (and most people are) if the bees find the sugar water theyâre going to think its a great source of easy food, go back to the hive and recruit more bees to come and collect the âfoodâ and before you know it youâll have 1.000s and 1,000s of bees descending on your garden/balcony - a very scary sight. This is known as robbing and as beekeeper Iâve seen this a couple of times - once started it is impossible to stop until the source of the âfoodâ has gone.
Other reasons not to do this are - sugar water is essentially âjunkâ food for bees. Its full of carbohydrates which will give them an energy burst, but has no other nutritional value unlike the food they should be having i.e. nectar.
Honey bees will store this as honey in the hive. The beekeeper unknowingly may end up extracting and selling this as honey later in the year. You donât want to buy sugar syrup and the beekeeper doesnât want to be prosecuted for selling a product which isnât honey.
This is also an easy food source for social wasps.
By all means give a tired bee a drink of sugar water on a spoon, but please donât leave it out for them.
If you want to help bees there are lots of ways you can do this from planting nectar rich plants or leaving out bowls of water with gravel/small pebbles in so they can access the water which they would be very grateful for.
PLEASE SHARE THIS AND TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS
Edited - It appears that a lot of the advice I have seen about leaving out sugar water stems from advice from DAVID ATTENBOROUGH. He was absolutely right in his advice, but his advice was if you see a struggling bee to put some sugar water where the bee could reach it - not to leave out bowls of sugar water. Unfortunately it seems like, as usual, media publications have misquoted advice and not done their research
Also please donât feed bees honey. Surprisingly they donât eat honey - they eat nectar. Honey bees make honey for their own use during the winter months, but bumble bees collect and use nectar as and when they need it.
Feeding honey can spread disease between bees.

I find it ridiculous that we still use âHorsepowerâ as a unit of measurement in this day and age. It means nothing to me. I have no idea of how much power a horse has and Iâm frankly terrified to even contemplate it.Â
just once i wanna put the blade of my sword under a pretty boyâs chin and tilt their head up so i can see both fear and arousal in their eyes is that too much to ask
this is horrifying because op just assumes that this is relatable enough for everyone and then person 2 somehow has a kermit meme to match that
