While I'm im the subject of Jack's mask, I want to tell yall about my headcannon of what it's made of.
Electroshapable material
Electroshapable material explains why the mask is rigid when he's not wearing it, but malleable when he is.
I figure the clasps/anchor points, while working to keep the mask in place, also provide a low level current, thus allowing the mask to function as a second skin.
Now, in the real world, this technology is fairly limited. But in the borderlands universe they have faster that light space travel and laser guns, so I'm taking some liberties here by saying the technology has advanced enough for something like the mask to be possible.
ima be so real... i hate the idea of jack being some "greater mastermind who actually escaped death and will come back in bl4 as the Big Bad"
the biggest appeal about jack to me is the fact that despite being genuinely really smart and tough, he's really just human in the end. angel died, he got reckless, he died. same with tales tbh. he found out angel died, rhys betrayed him, he crashed out, he "died". he's extremely self destructive and THAT is why i really love jack as a character. it just wouldn't hit the same if he somehow survived and it was all part of some secret plan
Being an evil doppelganger has to be so fucked up like imagine meeting a better version of yourself. Some chain of events going differently that led to "you" being a better person in a way you can never achieve. Personally I'd have no other option but to try and kill them

(picks up a chair and throws it at the wall and it splinters into a hundred pieces of wood) AAAAGGHGGGHHHGGGH (rips the glass pane from the window and smashes it over a vase causing both items to shatter into shrapnel) (and the ground is covered in sharp fragments of wood and glass and ceramic and I use my powers to swirl them all into the air launch them directly towards you. i know a lot of people mock when certain songs are overused on character playlists but I will never judge someone for putting bubblegum bitch on one. If you decided that your little tv guy is miss sugar pink liquor liquor lips who am I to say he’s not
